The throat chants and effects added were initially to create a wobble without a bass, hence the Dubstep. It's got proto-elements, but most certainly a recognizable vibe. I met someone yesterday whose cat doesn't know the universal food call - can you believe it? A 12 year old cat that doesn't know the click. Thanks for the review!
Hey, very cool tune, I think I could do a nice acoustic or classical guitar track on it that might sound nice....what do you think? Contact me if you are interested!!
Thank you Wayne, Ray did all the production on the vocals before I strated my thing, this acapella is available here on Looperman, Ray is a great guy to work with.
Hey, this is a departure from your usual stuff and I like it a lot. There is such a nice flow to the music, it really matches AJ's vocal performance. This is quite enjoyable!!
Well hello there Wayne, thank you for the review. I had to think alot on what I was going to to on this one - no way did I want to overide AJ's outstanding vocals, rather to support - kinda difficult for me to do because of my style - I learned and had a good time.
Yup, weird, lol!! I've never heard breaking glass in a song before, interesting, especially when the synth comes in. Hat's off to you, I wouldn't have thought of it!!
Nice, ya, brought back a few memories for me too! I hear a lot of the sounds in this song when I kayak, except for the Indian guy and the synths, lol!! It's almost time to get the boat out there again and your song really got me psyched for summer.
Very well put together, enjoyed it a lot but no dl, bummer. Thanks for sharing!
This song is pretty special to me, so no dl's at this point! But I'm glad you liked! The synths kind of simulate the heaviness in the air, the humidity, don't you think? Thanks for comments!
I figured I would review a song about rain as you reviewed my song Rain. This is a cool song, I like how it subtly builds from simple beginnings! Maybe you could add a few more passages from the poem. Liked the drums, they sound great. dl and fav, thanks!
Hmm. I do still have the workable copy of this. Maybe sometime I will go back and play with it again. More passages from the poem might be nice. Though I like the ambiguity of having just those two words. If I open this up again to tinker, I will keep your suggestion in mind and see what happens! Thanks!
This is great! So nice to hear this recorded live, the playing was really on. The piano solo in the middle got me, Richard had some real nice fills too!! Thanks for sharing these sessions!
Thank you so much, Wayne! Yeah, I'm definitely getting a new mic soon... It was really nice working with you too...I hope we could still do another one next time...
Very creative with the sound of Saturn in there mixed with some great tabla beats and other wonderful sounds. Really takes you on a trip thru the cosmos!! fav and dl!!
Thanks man. Just a westcoast bump. I look at hiphop beats ins styles and note what defines the style. That way it's easy when someone says Hey I want a beat that sounds like this. Just how my mind works.
Nice track Donnie, pleasure to listen to. Puts you in a certain mood right from the begining, relaxed. It's nice to hear simply produced tracks carry their musical weight in gold. Nice stuff!!
Sorry bout the delay mate (was mad busy with school stuff). As for the track, back then the keyboard was all I had. So I would spend countless hours just foolin around with it. And one early morning when I had been tinkerin with it for a little this melody started coming together. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Once again, your instinctual feel for the earthy beat and sounds carry this unique blend of genres to another level. Hip hop? Not too sure about that in a strict sense of the genre but there are a lot of influences here, maybe putting it more in the fusion genre I would guess, celtic even but we don't have that here.
Nice to hear the a capella, fits great, liked the delay. Enjoyed the vibes as well.
I used Psychotropic circle's Hip Hop bass loop to drive this one, which is the principal reason that I've designated it as such.
One of the things I've been reading about with music lately is Hip Hop's ability to absorb other genres which is what I'm attempting here. I think maybe using both "Funk" and "Reggae Dub" drum loops might have pushed the boundaries a bit. Certainly the Celtic Ballad challenges the genre even further.
How much absorption is actually possible?
Great fun experimenting with this one! Thanks for the review - and the Fave!
Wow, your voice just blows me away!! You are such a pleasure to listen to. The song is beautiful, meaningful, wonderful!! Loved the spoken word at the end, I could listen to you talk all day, intoxicating! ;)

The clicking of the can is, I believe, the universal food call for cats. Dogs are always in eat mode so it doesn't work for them.
