Hello Wayne! It's good to hear from you! This is definitely not my usual style, but since it was composed by someone else, I can forgive that... ha ha. You're nice to compliment the mix when compared to the original and other remixes. The claps were in the stems, and I was making an effort to use them all... partly because I had only heard the original once before making this. I thought it might help give more of a nod to the original that way. They do however sound pretty artificial though, I agree. Having the midi files was really helpful, since I could do some hardware sound design with the composition in mind, at least without a bunch of thought and analysis. I appreciate you taking a listen and leaving your words!

Thanks Wayne, yeah good to know you dig some Latino sounds. I have sprinkled several of my latest tracks with some of it but this one is pretty much straight forward. Haha, so you even like the grito huh? Yes, I took a chance putting that in but it fits and I enjoyed doing it very much. More than one might be over doing it tho. But its after all very popular in mainstream musica Mexicana. Glad you dig it man and again Gracias for the kind words of support.

That is a time-stretched section of guitar that comes in a while later. The synth comes in for the end section, though I do hear why you heard that.

Glad you liked the music box. I really dig those and thumb pianos, but they sometimes give an eerie, demented child feel to a track and I have to use something else. It's mostly here to reinforce the piano, but I brought it back for it's own section at the end.

Hey Wayne, thanks for listening and commenting, much appreciated! If you would see my recording setup you would laugh, it consists of my Fender Strat with probably 2 year old strings, a "Vox Tonlab ST" multieffect (it has a built-in tube to get a warm sound), and from there I go with a simple guitar cable directly into the microphone socket of my 10 year old Acer notebook... and my sofa - where I do all the work :D . So in a way it is very analogue-ish :) ---

I use Cubase 8 to record, but I hardly ever use any of the effects on the guitar, usually it all comes from the Vox. It has a built in Wahwha pedal (or you can configure it to use as an expression pedal etc, , and the great thing about it is that I can save up to 50 settings. So if I were to play live and I wanted any of the sounds on this song, all I need is a "clean" amp, plug the Vox in and I got it. For me the Vox is great, it an do a lot of sounds and effects.

But, I am thinking of getting a mic and record the Vox through a small amp - this would probably add another "live" dimension to it.

Hey Wayne! So good to hear from you! It is extremely rare that I come across someone who also does not drive or have cable TV, and it makes me happy that I'm not a complete freak! Living around here, that is usually how it feels. Even without those things, without children, and without a couch, I am still paying the price for living beyond my means for many years. Life has so much more to offer! Thank you for listening to this and leaving your assessment! There was a decent amount of electronic percussion improv in the track, and I think that makes a good subtle difference. I really appreciate it man!

I did think cinematic before I posted but I'm never sure and thought it might sound a bit too grandiose.
