Great track Alx! Really into the atmospherics of the track and the space, and how all the sounds blend together. I like the slight noise burst that play within panned states, very cool. The huge sfxs transition the track nicely. I wasn't expecting drums, but, a nice touch. :)
Yeah at first I wasn't really sure of leaving the drums or not. But then I found them fitting and adding something so...
Glad you like it, thanks for the listen!
Cool track. Definitely like the effects and their interactions with each other. Side-chaining is pumping nicely. Also liked the progressive beat and electro synths. I wasn't too crazy about the vocals (I'm mainly a instruments guy). Great work on that feedback effect!
Spivkurl, much appreciate the comments. My apologies I have not come by often enough to listen to your work.
Anyway, being that Trance is the genre that I tend to like the most out of pretty much everything I make, I just had to listen to one of yours. The melody on this is very nice. I love those bending synths, they seem to always have a nice "smile" in their sound that makes for a great listen.
There is definitely a nice progression on this that really makes the track enjoyable and cool to listen to.
Hey thank you so much for hitting me back with a review! So glad you liked this one, it means a lot coming from someone as talented as you! I thought the melodies and progressions on this one were pretty enjoyable too. I really appreciate your kind words!
Considering that this one is a first for you, I definitely think you did a very good job. I listened to it once and then now a second time to give you a bit of feedback. The track has a very minimalistic beat and progression with a nicely laid out melody-backing and a good lead. I also like the simple but good balance of the pads that play in the background. Very nice.
I would suggest you give the main melodies a bit of delay. This way it fills the track a bit more. Try a 3 or 4 step setting and see how it fits, or just experiment. Delays are a great way to add fullness to a track from very simple instruments and I think this one will benefit greatly. Also, a little bit of reverb on the hats, snare (clap) and melodies to create a sense of space. The kick feels a little overpowering in consideration to the rest of the instruments...give it a small reduction so it balances out a bit.
I also did not hear a bassline on this one which may explain why I sensed the kick to be a bit prominent. Add a basic one to fill in the bottom-end, a good try/test would be to use the same notes (the first few notes) of the synth line that comes in like an arpeggio (7s) and let that section play on the c3 range or so. And possibly hear the results and change a few notes.
It is a little short, but it is expected as it is a first one. My very first track was about the same length as well, and much less complex than this one.
Thanks for the tips...I just don't think electronic/dance stuff is my cup of tea.
I don't think I will be trying it anytime soon, but maybe one day...thanks alot for the tips!!!
This track influenced me to go watch JP1 :) I had forgotten how good that movie was in both story and CGI. Anyway, this is a great track 9R. Has a bit of techno-ish elements in there that make it a cool fusion of genres. The drums are very nice and come through real well. A bit repetitive, but it works well with the gradual changes of the layered synths. Keep it up.
The high-pitch sounds were quite bubbly on this one. I think you did a nice job on this one. I like the way the string at 24s plays, very nice one. All the elements do well with each other and they mesh well to create a favorable combination. I also like that you perform a nice combination of transitions which play well as the track goes on. I'm not a Trance expert or anything but I do want to suggest a few things:
1. At 20s: add a kick (1 step) to go along with the noise burst. That will end the previous section and the kick adds that last thump while the noise burst makes for a cool effect. You can also do this on a few other sections, especially with the crash and noise. It just adds a bit of presence with the bass area that goes well. Experiment.
2. At 1m45s: you end with nothing. :) This really makes the track feel like it's completed. I'd suggest you try to fill that in with something. May it be just the drums playing or a pad/string.
3: Overall: Add some strings that can be somewhere on the background. So that it fills the emptiness that is felt from the melodies when they are not playing. Probably the same that you used at 24s.
3: I really liked the elements that you brought in almost toward the end of the track: 2m22s and on. Those are some really solid ideas that I think you should focus on and bring them more into the beginning sections. The bassline there is well sequenced and the melodies perform nicely.
Lastly, your structure is a bit un-structured :) Again, not an expert but I've found a trance structure that works to be:
1. Intro (kick, maybe bassline, closed hats + clap): 8 bars or so.
2. Intro melody (something to add to bassline) + additional percussion to change-up and add to the first section): runs for 4 or 8 bars.
3. Intro strings (a string section or pad that fills the track for the intro): runs for 8 bars.
4. Break (not just a stop, but gradually remove elements, filter them down, until the kick and some basic hats play) then completely break into silence (if preferred) and introduce the main lead.
5. Main melody sequence - bring it all together (main melody, drums, etc) so that it runs as the main section of the track. This can run for 16 bars or more if required and depending on the melodies used and variation.
6. Outro start/end - Remove the main melody and perform something similar to the break. Leaving simply the drums and bassline is a good way to outro the track structure.
Anyway, a nice track that has allot of potential and just needs a bit of tweaking to get right. Again, I'm no expert and don't claim to be one, but a few things that have worked for me and hope they can help you.
Hey Salkizar, I've never heard the original and after listening to this one will refuse to even consider listening to it :) Nice track. I definitely like the metallic-electro style bassline. I always consider sounds similar to be some of the best to get out of a bassline since it completely carries the track in a solid way. The sequencing is also pretty cool with the duality going on nicely. Probably the only thing that I noticed on this one is the snare. There are times when it feels like a machine-gun (mainly because it needs a bit of "swing"). So I would suggest you try to make those sound a bit more natural: lower the amplitude on every other hit would be my approach as a 1st experiment. Other than that, a very cool track...very nicely done, and the melodic elements really mesh nicely. Great work my friend.
Rule 1: never make music for your friends, make them for you. :)
Anyway, nice one, I like it and can appreciate it: since it has allot of cool electronic elements that mesh well and makes for a good listen. The intro I wasn't too keen on: but appreciate that it folded into a beat and that was quite a creative idea, very cool. The beat is very nice as well, I like the semi-distorted and filtered work that was done there, very nice. Suggestion: warm up the snare a bit, possibly with some light reverb so that the snap at the end can create a bit of ambiance. Nice work. Keep it up.
Very nice track. I really liked how the acid-lines were filtered, that really adds a very good variety without having to be too elaborate and goes really well with all the rest of the elements. The strings add a nice and warm tone. I'm never too crazy for vocals in music, I think they tend to steal away from a few things. However, I liked that they quickly go into oblivion for me :) I like the way the drums play a few percussion instruments and how they fold. Keep up the great work.
thx a lot for your warm and awesome words. the vocals are only for the break, but this is really a point of view, a kind of taste.
hope to hear more reviews from you..... :-)))

I definitely agree with the previous reviewer the track needs some adjustments on the levels. Are you using a Compressor on the master? I can kinda sense the compressor trying to do it's work but because the overall levels are too loud it's still letting in digital clipping and the result is an over-compressed and over-saturated mix. That's just some technical stuff I guess, however, listening to the track as a listener, I really dig the ideas and the flow and some of the synth-work is pretty nice. One thing it needs is more variety. Techno seems to be a genre that heavily uses repetition but even the core genre tends to have some variety as it progresses. Keep up the work. I'd definitely look into the levels as the primary thing need adjustment.
Thank you for your honest opinion and feedback. it is greatly needed, but you have to understand what the person is doing, now if this is about this track than i can understand, it is "weak" to say the least and is an older much underdeveloped track. But if it's about my music in whole than you have to listen to all I have and see where I am going with it. First this isn't exactly "Techno", but more its own genre, Sci-Fi, and the repetitive apart of evolution of the scene, I have to try different ways of doing this, again you have to listen to ALL my tracks to see where I am going. But again, I do thank you for the honest feedback and I hope you understand.
A fellow electronics enthusiast I see. Pretty cool here. I'm not always too keen on these sounds since they tend to sound a bit primitive, however, they certainly add a certain characteristic that stands out. Nice job. What are you using as the main board? Arduino? I checked your profile and see you also use ChuCk. There was a time when all I used was ChuCK (and other apps): this might be interesting to you:
Hi siensystem, The board has two components: A dual Boolean Sequencer and a pair of Karplus Strong circuits. The BS generates a binary count and sends it into logic and resistors to make control voltages of long sequences. The KS performs string synthesis, which generates sort of guitar-ish and drum-ish sounds. ChucK is a major tool for me, I've been coding in it for nearly three years now. I modeled the BSKS circuits in ChucK before building them which helped a lot. Thanks for the video link and I'm glad you liked the track. Thanks.
This track actually reminds me a bit (the start) of the old Twilight Zone intro music. Once some musical-styled elements began with a beat and bassline, I could not really get much into it. But the intro up until about 40/50 seconds or so was really cool. Keep it up.
I'd probably consider this more like generic techno than glitch. The start up until the 42s mark was pretty cool. I think this was the best part of the track. I wasn't too interested after that section to be honest. It was pretty nice techno though and the melodies worked nicely. Keep it up man.
Pretty nice track. The synths sounding really nice and the track overall has a cool progressive feel to it. One thing I am always against is off-beat basslines and I can't help but dislike it in this case as well. I'd suggest you try and elaborate the line into something less generic. The drums could use allot more variation and fills to add a bit more interest and step a bit outside the generic trance realm. Quite a simple and generic track but does a nice job of maintaining interest. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work!
Hey RTA, I was searching for a trancer on your profile but see that your work is mainly of Hip Hop. Please excuse if I don't add anything of value considering that (these days) I rarely listen to hip hop. However, this is a great track. The instruments used and the flow of the melodies are really nice. Smooth is probably the perfect word to describe it. From the start to the end, excellent work.
Nice track Nemesis! Really nice instrumentation. Great flow. I like the distorted synth line, really nice sound there. Melodies come in subtly and in a distinctly "movie-credits" kind of way. Really cool my friend. Keep up the great work!
Hey Mate Thanks For Comment :) seriously it means alot to me , anyways currently im busy working on Midnight Stroke , pffffft its takin lots of my time , and i havent reached more than 3 Mins on it , but from the way i see it , its sounding better each day , and its been a month already i think ill be reachin an another month or so inorder to release it .
nyways once again thanks mate !! ure tracks are amazing as well , i keep on listenin to ure tracks , they give me inspiration .
Very nice track Salkizar, has a very "classic" feel to it. This is certainly a track I'd hear in a club or at a party. The dual-off-beat bassline has the perfect sequence for that cool clubby progression. The main lead sounds quite cool also and everything is simple but very effective. Nice one man! keep up the great work!
I really liked the bassline synth. Has the kind of touch I really enjoy. The drums were also very nice and solid. The melodies really maintaining a classical-melodic-trance sound which does a really nice job my friend. Great track. I would have argued a bit on making the track a bit more progressive and with a bit more of it's own character aside from the generic trance flow, but it still does a fantastic job of keeping interest. Nice work. This style would benefit highly from a vocal. Good!
Thank you so much mate. I really appreciate that you like it!
It took a while to make this track, and I though in the beginning that people would find it a bit 'dull', and maybe it is. But that's trance -smiles-

Very warm and sweet track my friend. Very nice arps, nice and mellow beat, ambi-trance? :) Really like the smoothness of all the instruments and how everything comes together. Nicely done my friend. Keep up the great work.
Hey Sien great to see you back!..always nice to get a listen from the Loop's resident tech guru and audio muse...I heard that collab you did with Abe...fantastic stuff!...appreciate the listen..cheers mate :)
Thanks siensystem for your review. The pella in it by Nate is very useful for this kind track.I used this advantage.I liked , you liked it. Thanks again.
