on In A Trance by bryant86
This is really wide! nice work there mate. Nice melodies, cool plucks, excellently chilled. It is a bit loud mate to be honest, try lowering it a bit or adjust the compressor on the master so it sits a bit better. Nothing against the track. Another melody would have been nice also. Nevertheless, nice reverse vocal and cool flow. keep it up man!

Nice bassline. The kick is incredibly heavy is nice. Been trying for something similar. Nice man. A melody would have been nice to take the repetitiveness some variation. But nice all throughout.

on You're So Beautiful- Vox by Myst by Marius9
Nice trancer Marius! Really cool pluck melody. I always love those man! Nice melody. I must bet honest that I do dislike the off-beat bassline, but this work nicely anyway man. I like the space (something I can never get right). Other thing that I disliked was the vocals (only because I like to listen to trance [sub: melodies, progression, drums, etc] instead of the vocals). Still sounding good though, nothing to take away from the style (vocal-trance) because it sounds sweet and you've done a fantastic job!

That's all my friend. Nice track!

Thanks for the great review. I wasn't aware there was a distinction between trance and trance with vocals, I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure what you mean by space, but thanks. I know what you mean about the off time bass line, but I'm not all that creative when it comes to bass lines, you'll notice the same bass line in almost every track, the only difference is what the notes are. Thanks again for the great review!

man a long time ago I used to listen to hip hop and I really like the smoothness of this track. Nice strings and cool beat running. Lyrical heads need to flow over this. Nice work mate!

thanks for the feedback. i remember you make the dance, house techno related stuff. its good music, i gotta say though we need more people steppin out of their own genre and messing around with others. personal oppinion though. we need more dance music, case and point! thanks. respect. ROME.

Heh thanks mate :) really appreciated well i was workin on it the same time i did mandarin , so it was pretty exhausting producing 2 different genres , with 2 totally different orientation , but ide still prefer Mandarin over this track for some reason hehe .

but if u like it then thats go0d news :D it means im doing the right job heh . techno is an experimental genre ....unfortunately i lack knowledge in build up and formation when it comes to techno .

once again thanks !

Coming from one of the most interesting and influential creator of Ambient tracks on the site, this means a lot to me. When I started experiencing audio hallucinations in the first draft, I knew I was on to something. I'm really glad you appreciate this one. Thanks.

I certainly will be listening to allot more of your work n0mad. I am fascinated by your extremely cool use of all kinds of sounds. I mean, I don't think I have ever heard so many sounds used in such a perfect way that I could not picture the track without them. What instrument did you use for your main melodic elements? Extremely interesting and well put together. Just coolness!
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
The melody is created by the geng gongs (see image link above), and really are some of my favorite instruments of all time. They're really different in tonality from the metal Jew's harps we're used to hearing. Actually the two in the picture are the very ones used in this track (I have a dozen in my collection). I did a 3 track recording with the 2 geng gongs, and then created this around that melody.

The mutations this one went through can't really be appreciated in what you hear now. What I had originally intended is much different than what happened. I don't "get" Hip Hop and this started as a personal challenge to make a track. A lot of really frustrating attempts that just didn't work at first. Really this came together only after I gave myself up to the archetype that I had invoked, the Trickster Frog. Sounds funny, but really it was only after I stopped trying to force it, and then "let it happen" did the internal logic of it all reveal itself.

Damn Jung and his Soft-Science!

It is a "thick" piece isn't it? In one of my other tracks, someone said they thought "maximalism" would sound like my stuff. Maybe I'm the counter weight to Philip Glass? Here it ended up deliberate, as the "Frog Song" is composed of many voices, and mirrors the desire of drums (who don't want to be played alone).

Thanks for both the listen and fantastic review!

on Nemesis - Run Away by theshuffler
Hey my friend, I think you might need to adjust the sample-rate for the track. Are you rending this at 96000? If so, it is being played a bit screwy with the looperman player. Sounds fast and distorted. I suggest 44100.

Haha i just heared it I tried resampling it but that doesn` t work... I thinnk i have to re render it ,

on DubSaw by toxxicity
I saw the letters 'LMMS' and just had to listen as not many are using it. Very nice work. I'm not a listener of the genre so I can't speak intelligently in terms of advice or other. But based on the few dub-step tracks I've heard on the site this one coincides with the typical bass-lines and melody types. Nice sounds, really cool theme getting the Sawer (jig-zaw) himself in the track. Great work with LMMS man! keep it up!

on Moorlough Mischief and Ire (feat nabilkhazzaka) by n0mad23
Hey n0mad, what strikes me first above everything is the great use of delay to create some nice space in both the instruments and the vocals. Very nice work there. Not much else to say honestly. Just a great track!
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
Hey siensystem - thanks for the thumbs up. If anyone understands the creation of sonic space, it would be you! This is a strange piece (for me as the creator), and I'm still struck by how it seems to work. I think you've articulated why - it's in the dancing delay where everything weaves together. Thanks for the review, and I'll be by today to respond in kind. Cheers.

on Full Circle by BeatMechanic
Haven't heard or made much trance these days but this was absolutely cool! The intro was nice and subtle and the arps were nice and melodic. The track actually didn't feel like trance, but more like electro which really doesn't matter but it just had a really cool set of instruments and sounds, especially the fact that it almost feels like it had no drums in terms of a big kick, hats and snare and the melodies themselves (along with the percs) gave it all it needed for a complete and full track. Nice work, really great swells. I mean everything is very interesting and great. Keep it up!

Nice work man. I don't typically listen to metal but this sounded nice. Rich guitar licks, nice drums, very nice melodies and everything just flows nicely. Not that I want to compare your work with other bands but definitely was up there with the likes of metallica in terms of how the melodies were put together. Keep it up.

Thanks Sein,
I used to spend hours playing Metallica songs back in the late 80s and early 90s. Then for some reason the band started to become annoying. But I was happy with their "Death Magnetic". Anyway, thanks for checking out my track. I would like to say to you, keep making those awesome loops and tunes. You have some really good stuff here on the site.

on The Black in Blue by Planetjazzbass
Depth, depth...depth!! Lots of it in this incredible track. Slap throws in a cake and you add the icing! Well done!. I definitely loved the section after the break (2mins or so). That part felt like a solo and the sounds all over were nicely layered with the drums and sax(?). Very nice. Everything clear and levels extremely fitting the genre. Great work guys.

Nice one also Disken. Been listening to all the entries and you've got a nice track going which makes voting very difficult. really like the flow of all the elements here and it's a great one. Was confused with the intro a bit, thought it was my speakers for a moment regarding the silence. :) good stuff. good luck.
