Haha! I was going for the speaker work out with this track. Glad you dig it sien. Sux you had to bow out of round two I was looking forward to see what you had. Can't wait to hear the project that took presidence over the comp though!
hehe, I agree not too shabby man. How long ago was this? Considering you mentioned Cool Edit, I'd say a good 10-12 years ago? Not bad at all. Pretty grungy and the sound that cool edit was pushing sounds quite good. Nice work.
Thank you Siensystem. You are right, the Cool Edit program I have was from about 2000. I don't even remember where I got it now. I didn't know that making digital music was anything more then sequencing wav samples back then. Funny that even when I use a keyboard and vst plugins these days I still render the instrument to a wav file, duct them in my ancient Cool Edit program, then put them back into FL Studio to add filters. I still use that software a lot, it is what I record my vocals into even.
Hehe, I like the binary "charlie". I wrote an app that performs translations from text to binary and vice versa :) On to the track, I don't really have much of an idea on what a "proper" glitch track is, just know that from the term "glitch" there is a certain stutter/stuck/grainy idea on the sounds and you have performed a great job with this track, very nice solo-section with the drums and the sounds which kept the interest nicely. Good work. Keep it up.
It's been a while since I've heard any trance or made any myself so it almost feels like dejavu in terms of hearing the off-beats and the open highs. I like the snare that you used here, it's not the typical snare hits I tend to hear, it has a electro quality to it. Fact, this track almost feels electro-ish with trance mixed in. Which is a nice combination and well done. The only thing I missed in a more, how can I say, a main lead melody. You have the piano playing which is great, but I was waiting for that break and then the huge explosion back with a main themed melody. Anyway, great work my friend, keep rockin.
I see what you mean with the 80s. This is really nice. Lots of cool sounds and definitely well done as far as the musical elements and the way things flow. Really cool and happy to hear it. Does place a good feeling in me. Good work.
These days the only hip hop I tend to listen to is the one from here on the looper. Really cool beat, I really like the swing and the nice flow. The vocal slice added a nice element. I would have liked if the beat and bass would have played a bit of solo sections without the vocal slice. I think it would have added a bit of variation. Despite that though I could hear lyrics in my head and it all works. Nice work man.
Nice track. I hardly see any "Country" here. This sounds nice. I'm very much a cynic and dislike anything too "lovey-dovey" but I do like the way the vocals sound against the music. Almost like a electro-ish-country song :) Very cool track.
Very warm and smooth track. Really have nothing else to say. It has allot of great instruments and the arrangement is very natural and flows in a nice way, probably something I would heard while reading credits. It keeps interest and sounds nice. Just in case, I'm probably one of the few that actually reads movie credits so by me stating the above is not meant to be a negative thing. Quite the opposite actually :) Lastly, nice levels. Definitely fitting the music, nothing too loud or too low.
Quite the nice track here. Really sounds very nice and has that radio-edit sound. Very nice melody and warm strings which are pretty nice and add warmth. The vocals were pretty nice but they have an initial "burst" when they come in (heard at 2m17s). Anyway, really nice, quite classical sounding. keep up the great work.
Very nice, don't hear too many orchestra tracks but always nice to hear one with nice attitude. Very nice and can certainly see this being used for a score in a movie or something. I did feel as though there was a bit too much reverb on the instruments. Great track, very good work.
Very cool track. I like the acidic style bassline and the sequence has a very cool drive to it. Nice wide synth in there. Pounding beats and a nice synth at 1:47. Kinda crazy I like it. This actually feels a bit like techno. I do feel like you could have added another melody after 2/3 minutes. This way there is a bit more variation. Possibly break the track by this time (3 mins), add a melody and bring it all back for another 2/3 mins or so. Also maybe add a pad synth or string synth covering so that you can add a bit more to the fullness of the track. Just some suggestions. Good track. Keep up the great work.
Firstly let me say, thank you for the great and balanced levels. It allows me to adjust the volume level to whatever I like. This is definitely a great track as I said before, it has allot of the elements of the late 80s and early 90s movie style score. Which I like allot. It reminded me a bit of a recent movie I watched called Creep Show. Not in the melodies or structure but in some of the sounds, like the swell and the bendy lead from the intro. Also reminded me a bit of Karate Kid for some reason as well. Really great track, nice sounds, cool melodies and just flows very nicely. Great work once again!
Thanks, I try to balance my volume as I am editing my tracks(nothing worse than a BLASTING track right from the getgo). Lol... when you referenced to the karate kid, I believe the melody at 0:48 would probably bring in that oriental flavour; as well as the synth swells that begin at 1:44...now that you mention it. Thanks for listening!
This is a pretty nice track. I appreciate the honesty in the lyrics and what they stand for. The drums are excellent and the strings/melodies add a nice warmth.
Very nice indeed Planet. Your nieces' voice sounds perfect with the also perfect warm tones of the guitar and strings/pads. And I agree with nonesensesystem's last comment :) keep up the great work.
Cool!...I like having a creative relationship with my nieces and they like it too..they can be themselves and express their ideas openly without criticism....only trouble is they live in the states!so I don't get to see them as much as I would like..cheers mate...planet :)
Really great track Planet. I think I can safely say that out of all the "not-strictly-electronic" music I have heard here on the looper, your track thus far is the best as far as content, arrangement and "live" feel. You probably know your guitar better than the back of your hand :)! Great work.
Hey thanks man!..glad you enjoyed the track..I've been playing awhile but the weird thing is the more you know the more you realise your just scratching the surface of what's possible..cheers planet :)
I was reminded a bit of Christina Aguilera with this one Minette :) Your voice shines incredibly here and the music goes perfectly. Great work...again.
Nice minette. Another great track. I wasn't too fond of the background chant, mainly because to a point I thought it was jingle bells playing :) Just an observation. The piano and your voice is all excellent. Great work.
I like how nice your elements are here. The drums are simple but they expound a certain element of complexity that sounds excellent. Your vocals are really (to me) what makes your music amazing. Its excellent and just sounds very soulful. Great one.
Great song. The vocals are excellent. You reminded me of the style I really love, Celtic. Specifically, I felt like I was listening to one of my Celtic Circle CDs. Really nice music and excellent balance of instrument, this is really musical. Great work! Also, very well balanced, nothing overpowering. Nice.
Thanks Siensystem - it's nice to have a comment on the balance in the track. I try and keep things mellow and not overpower. I am very much into the whole Celtic music vibe. Have you ever heard of Anuna (they are an Irish vocal group who sings mostly in Latin and Gaelic) They are awesome - and a big influence for me.
Thank you for a nice and balanced track! Levels are really nice on this one. Nothing overpowering and no over-compressed sounds :) Could still use just a tad of boost to make it a bit more "huge" but I like that I can adjust my volume to my taste. Really nice bassline and come cool drums. Almost feels like a short dj set. Nice variation and definitely dig the acid lines and drum n bass style drums. Keep up the great work!
cool one there my friend. I like how the vocals compliment the music. Kinda electro-ish and dance-ish. Bassline is cool and the melodies are nice and crisp. great work.
From the very start I really liked how this started. Really nice, has a certain swing to it that I like and keeps me interested. great job. The acoustics make it sound a bit jazzy and almost like lounge music. very nice. Great work.
