Thank you thank you danke! This one and quite a few of the recent ones are straight from the heart (Kleine Josefine, Hold On, Through the Clouds) and I think it makes a difference. I know what I want to say and the story guides the songwriting - sometimes I'll follow conventions, sometimes I'll throw all than in the garbage bin because there's something I need to say :)
Regarding the guitars, I used to have more but I've whittled it down to a PRS Silver Sky which is my "travel guitar" (they're indestructible) and a very nice Heritage 535 (like a Gibson 335) at home.
That one I pipe through a couple pedals, for this ttrack a wampler tumnus (a Klon clone) and a JHS octave reverb (although I make new arrangements regularly). NO amp; I go DI into my Scarlett interface. Certainly not the best, but fine for a home setup.
Glad you enjoyed it :) It was a painful one to write, but cathartic to sing, as maybe you can hear ;)
part 1: the guitar and bass parts are really nice in tone. i love the gridiness of your bass and you played them very soulfull, theres is a honest quiality in your fingerstyle. your vox is very special in this calm track, but you get my attention with your dynamic, very spicy.
part 2: i love those 80s style guitar recordings. very natural gain without pressing it in your face. You also put a lot of energy in your voice, i really like that. it shocks you. lyrics are great, mix of mythism understanding pop culture and a message everyone can connect to.
part 3: is a beautifeul closer. For an amp I am using a Fender Bronco tweed amp, 15 watts, 1 8" speaker. It has a clean channel and a drive channel, no reverb. It makes some nice tones and makes a cheap guitar sound pretty good.
For electric guitar I play a couple cheap ones, Fender Strat Squire and an Epiphone Riviera Custom P 93, an ES styled guitar. Here I used the Strat.

What's up with you, BananaLu? I'm very happy for your stop through. Why? The listen, feedback, fave, and your humor makes my day! But when you mentioned EQ and compression, that did it for me. I started using Universal Audio's mastering eq and compressor. That move on my mastering chain made a world of difference. I also used sonible's Smart Limit. That help to keep those LUFS at 11.2. On the bass line, I'm a drummer with bass envy! I've always gotta have a fire bass line!:). Till the next go round, be safe.
