on Get On Down Remix II by JAICrews
Have you by any chance applied AI for vocals? What software are you using? Thx

Hey Mark, For vocals, it's all AI. I usually write the chorus and have AI do the verses. Little Inuit girl is one of the few songs I've done where the lyrics and vocals were completely done with AI. I just gave it a topic, "missing indigenous women" and I was shocked by how well it turned out. If you try it, I suggest experimenting with various vocal descriptions, raspy soul, twangy country, gritty rock, etc) until you find what you're looking for sonically. Good luck! Jimmy

Aaron Ok! Come on with the creative artistry. Ambient yeah, but you can't rule out just a touch of industrial. That's a bossed up description for what you created! Impressive my friend!
Peace,
Mark

Mark, how are ya, bud? There is absolutely no denying the industrial element in this one! Industrial has been a steady part of my rotation since 1989. I don't think, at this point, there's any escaping it in my own music.
I'm glad you took the time to listen and comment on this one.
Take care, my friend.
Aaron.

Greetings Neomorpheus. Interestingly the opening put me in mind of Issac Hays Walk On By. Nice work.

on Crackity Crack by Zootman
Hey Chris, here's a oxymoron for you, the drums and bass gives tremendous weight but the guitar floats. Really nice spacing between all the instruments. The lower hz. range is FLAME! The bell cymbal is strategically placed and that adds to the already ominous tone of the track. This expression of your creativity is way up there.
Peace,
Mark

Thanks Mark, I often try to pay attention to frequencies at the recording stage cause I know that if I have to try to fix things when mixing I won't be able to, due to my very basic and non technical mixing skills. Thanks again for listening, I appreciate your feedback and insights. Cheers Chris

on Love in order by MPOProduction
Greetings MPOProduction. This immediately made me think of the main title music for an urban western movie. The one where the star parks his horse next to a Mercedes in the heart of midtown Manhattan! LOL! Really stellar work throughout.
Peace and Happy New Year,
Mark

Thank you very much for the great feedback it truly means a lot to me. Im really happy when my work resonates with people.

I was strongly inspired on this piece by John Lee Hooker, especially by the song The Man in the Chain. These are very old tracks, often tied to classic films I guess most people dont even know them anymore.

I suppose that just means Ive gotten a bit older myself.

on How Many Times Have I Told You - Remix by ValveDriver
Aaron I trust your Christmas was good as well. But how could it not be with a Doberman puppy. The track I tagged you in I did a few years back and wanted to do some touching up. I'll post a link.

I really miss Manuela with True Sisters. She posted a comment on a track I did a while ago when I told her I was self taught. She hits me with a term "Autodidact" which means a deep, focused self education. So Aaron welcome to the fold! I call myself a "Knob Twister" I just twist knobs until it sounds good LOL! Stay safe.

on How Many Times Have I Told You - Remix by ValveDriver
Aaron! Really? How you expect me to evaluate your track when listening I got STUCK IN THE GROOVE! HUH? Anyway I haven't heard the original take but this is packed with power. Me being a connoisseur for fine tweaking like you, I hear where you are going. The composition is spot on. My ears are zooming in on the saturation. I think if you play around with a multi-band saturator, you can pull out the mid band clarity without loosing the overall grit. Most admirable, your full on dedication for sound sculpting! That's what UP! Keep it rolling Aaron, this is hot.

Peace,
Mark

Mark, how's it goin' Mister? I hope your holiday was good, and just how you needed it to be.

First of all, thank you for not only listening, but listening deep enough to be able to leave some critique. That is absolutely crucial for improvement, and I don't think a lot of people here understand that.
Since I'm just a self-taught producer, I've kind of missed a lot of important tricks and tools. Moreover, the discipline to go find them. I looked into multiband saturation, and you absolutely correct. I'll work on getting that set up and played with. I don't think I'll re-re-reupload though. Just like "third time is the charm," so is "Third time is good enough" HA!
Anyhow, I listened to the track you posted for me to check out, but it was only once on my phone speaker, while trying to distract an 8 week old Doberman puppy from tearing down the tree. I had planned on coming back to check it out with the respect it deserved, but you had already changed it. None the less. I'm honored that you would do that for me, and I don't take the gesture lightly.
With much respect, Sir, do take care.
Aaron.
