Paul! I'm really feeling that melody. Question? Was that saturation on the low end intentional? I would love for you to tweak that low end. Your flow is FIRE and that low end punch must be surgical to match the energy of your flow. May I suggest backing off the low end saturation and gimme some more of that low end sub? Just a touch. See you are a sound smith like me. The track is fly on it's own and that extra touch ain't nothing but the cherry on top. As I have said before, what you do and where you've come from is admirable. Keep on cutting and chopping my friend.
Peace,
Mark
Mark lovely to have you write me, yes it was intentional, i can only listen to pros like you, i'm a story teller, that comes natural. but i always wanted to be the band too but could never get the sounds you were all bringing, yeah you have watched me grow, i understand the dynamics of music far more now and things like saturation, stereo separation, low end exciters, using dynamic EQ's etc, i suppose its classed as sound design, these things are as important to me as the vox and beat now, getting the engineering right is the most difficult part because i'm my biggest critic, but i love the tactical battle its the engineering that makes or breaks a work and reading comments from collegues i respect gives me all the inspiration i will ever need, thankyou
BB! You have upped your game! With just your piano and voice every moment of this listen was satisfying. So yep stay unplugged. Excellent mix treatment on your vocals, that move brought your inflections to the forefront. Lock that down and save the preset! Also Im tipping the piano player LOL! Nice 1 BB

Thank you so much my friend!
Needless to say when it came out on Spotify I immediately hated it and I can't listen to it with all the issues it has, but I also know that a bit further down the road I'll be proud of it. And I've decided every album from now on should have a secret "unplugged" version of one of the tracks :)
Scott I hear you! Youve taken on a tricky arrangement! The ragtime vibe shines. The mix has a clarity that allows the listener to enjoy the instruments voices. Really good stuff!
NHA! Im drawn to atmospheric sounds with depth. You have done that quite well. Your mix is balanced to perfection. The percussive effects are spot on. The vocals added another dimension. This is a well put together piece of musical art. Thanks for sharing.
Peace,
Mark
BB! I didn't get a chance to hear the first round vocals but this round sounds nice. Good instrumentation as well. Your guitar tone fits perfectly. Good work! Keep them coming.
JC you never disappoint. That nostalgic sound we have come to know from way way back. This has a Marvin Gaye Inner City Blues vibe. Good Good! Keep it coming.
That is some serious business you got going on here. The saxophone unisons is a cool touch. The entrance theme that is repeated throughout is my kinda happy place sound. A really nice job.
Greetings Kaos2! For me what I heard was flawless with absolutely no weakness. But laying technicality aside Its a privilege for me being not only a musician but a listener. You tantalized my ears with this awesome work of art. This is full of heart and soul! An Impressive work for sure. You mentioned in an earlier comment on one of my tracks that you wanted to take on Jazz. The right elements are present plus you mixed in a plethora of other genres as well. Take a bow, I like what youve done.
Wow Mark - from such a connoisseur and expert in the field, that is indeed a very heart-warming, reassuring comment. Thank you so much. The only ideas that I was working with, was a throwback to Cleo Laine and some lyrics I had in my head. Thank you for such full and kind feedback. With Love from KayOS
Question? How could you not totally love and I mean LOVE an entrance like this? Well ok the whole track is a BANGER! Thanks for cleaning the dust off my headphones. EXCELLENT listen!
Hey Mark, how are ya?
Thank you for such an enthusiastic reaction, my friend! It makes it all worth it, ya know? After listening to your work and how good it is, we take this as a high compliment! So, Thank you, a second time!
