Brother Mark, a much softer track than the traditional funk. I love it! The piano is outstanding. The strings add a new dimension. Thought provoking and sensitive. Love the original ending. Again, a very nice change up. A track only the "King" could produce. I got your email. Talk with you soon. Brother Cosmo
This tune is damn sweet. Has a bit 70s funk in it as well. The arrangement keeps me on the edge of my seat. You really know how to emphasize the instruments in a way that they shine together. Something I can really learn from. Mix is top notch as usual. Do you have music on spotify/YT?
hey mudhoen! Thank you for stopping through. It's really great what you heard proved to be an worthwhile listen. The 70's funk is one thing that's virtually impossible to escape. Especially with the resurgence of authentic ol skool funk. I'm in the mid stage with my art work for my music I'm releasing on Bandcamp. So YT maybe later. I'm not feeling Spotify yet. A few of my musician buddy's have told me horror stories about their experience. The time, comments, and compliments are treasured in a big way.
Nice music, mate. It reminds me of different things - from 70's atmosphere to "Sims" soundtrack. Plus thing about glitching sounds makes it more interesting. I like it, good job!
Asociale thank for checking out my track. Its good to know the listen sparked a wide variety of thoughts and memories. The glitching added an element of surprise. That what makes this music making business fun and exciting. I appreciate your time and comments.
Oh, that opening mate, so good! In the Immortal words of Jools Holland. "F*** me!" Yes, this is awesome, mate. Those reverses are killer. Ahh, Mark. You may have achieved Jazz Nirvanna!
Steven! Good seeing you here. You like? Great! I love reverses, they satisfy my DJ envy LOL! The feedback and compliments are appreciated in a huge way. Have an awesome weekend and by all means stay safe.
B.O.M.! I feel sometimes like if you could get a MRI image of my music brain, then you could understand why some of my tracks are long. So many ideas all the time. Manageable, but so many. For you to enjoy this listen is huge. Thank you for your time, feedback, and compliments. Be safe.
Yeah U have been busy Mark, it's easy to see that. There are some samples here and there, and some subtle stuff too. Okay, bro, you put the spotlight on some overall strengths of yours and its an entertaining listen
Squadd! It's always great when you grace the place with your presence! I brought out everything in my arsenal to set this out right. And I'm having a blast in the process. Thanks for your time and highly valued perspective.
Great and impressive work!
I am not well versed in jazz and such but I did get a Lee Ritenour vibe whenever the guitar went off:)
Where is it being "shipped out" to?
Antronical Greetings. Thanks for giving my jazz passions and expressions a listen. On the Lee Ritenour mention, I firmly believe our exposure to high caliber musicians like Lee sticks with our musical DNA. It shows up sometimes unintentionally. That's a huge compliment. This will land at Bandcamp when finished. Be safe.
Hello King !! There is so much art in your tracks that one listener must live within the spirit of this type of music to express a "technical" opinion!
But as a simple listener , I can say that the track is magical to my ears Mark !!! Full of energy and what a rythm (!!!) and full of "artistic melody lines" , pro quality overall !!!
Cheerssssssssssssssss !!!
Kay/Oli! Thank you Thank you and Thank you LOL! That call was to the police on account of that section that was deliberately shifted left! Good thing the call didn't go through!
Hey, King... your work reflects the incredible skill you've built through years of dedication to your craft. It takes something special to create a piece this awesome. You're amazing.
Great jazz, Mark. This piece is pure keyboard heaven, with the keys doing incredible, sometimes unimaginable things. All the instruments are top quality of course, but my closeness to keyboard instruments makes me notice them the most.
I think your track is ready for any journey out there.
Best regards, Anthony
Greetings Anthony. I glad you got the chance for this listen. Thank you for pointing out what sounds good here. Me like you, I must have my keys. Just a little here and a touch there, and this one is a wrap.
MY SQUADD! Thanks for stopping by. So yep ok ok the sax drip you know is habit forming. Im glad you like what you heard. Im going to hit up Cosmo so he can check in with you. Compliments appreciated.
Hey Mark. Saw you replying on an old track of mine and it felt like a cue to get back to LM and listen to some great stuff over here. To see you on top of the tracklist made me smile and I knew it was the good decision! What anice track my man! You definetly did not lost the magic touch. So much going on in such a clean mix. Very solid composition and especially the brass is carrying this beautiful piece of music eventhough the drums are top notch as well. Is this played live?
mudhoen Welcome back! Thank you for the stop, time, and feedback. It's really great you found everything to your liking. This one was multi tracked in my studio. Your compliments are valued in an huge way. Be safe.
This is cool. I loved the intro, had me thinking of Lalo Schifrin, I may have made this comparison on one of your other tracks? At times it reminded me of the James Taylor Quartet too (both are amazing in my opinion). The drums and percussion are a real driving force to the song and the sax sounds absolutely stellar. There's plenty going on here to keep the listener engaged from start to finish, I really liked the Bossa Nova sounding part at 1.48. What can I say? It's a really great track, top marks.
Greetings B.V.! Correct, you put me up on Lalo, and of course I was blown away! Likewise with the James Taylor Quartet. I really appreciate your stop and impressions you've shared. It's great what you heard was a good listen.
Hmm...you guys are quite talented on this site. This is smooth sir...the kind of music that makes you feel like a billionaire who owns an airline and some cargo ships!
I love this, a lot!
TrippleN97! The jet is being fueled as we speak LOL! Thanks for your stop and feedback. That made my day! Its good you enjoyed what you heard. Have a great weekend.
Hi DubSmockers. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your impressions of my track. This one is particularly close to my heart. Thanks again for your kind words.
What's good Steven? Yep got that skip step working against that prefrontal cortex LOL! It's great you took out time for this listen. Thanks for the stop, compliments, and a great laugh!
B.O.M.! Greetings. Thank you for stopping through and sharing your thoughts. When I wrote this out I first thought the keys were ok. But when I started my first round of proofing the mix going over everything, the keys pretty much dominates as much as the sax's. My focus is different when write and mix versus when I proof listen to my tracks. I appreciate the compliments.
Hi kingmt77, this music was quite picturesque for me. On holiday somewhere and then fitting in like after a week or so, casually going to some nice beach bar, ordering a drink. To find they really got everything you could imagine and a bit more. It wasn't planned, but worked out very well. Love the sax, nicely done!
What's really good PaperKup! The description you gave is a real excursion in spontaneity! Yep and that's where I want to be! Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad what you heard was good. Be safe and have a good weekend.
fanisatt! Well Approximately 1 Trillion Likes right back@ U LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by I glad you enjoyed what you heard. Have an wonderful and peaceful weekend.
As you know, Mark, me and jazz are chalk n' cheese but I loved the opening - gave me proper Rocky vibes. A very smooth, eclectic production with your artistic flair ;) I like the scribbly echoey bit at the end, too - that was v Kayos-2ish! Also I got some Duke Ellington vibes - kinda 'Do Nothin til you hear from Me'. In other words, I liked your track - big smiles
HaHa Kay/Oli Too Too Funny. Thanks for the stop and sharing your impressions. Your listening ear and musical perspective is always intriguing. Thanks also for sharing the elements that popped. Now excuse me while I go and purchase some Chalk & Cheese chips Lol Lol :)! Have an wonderful weekend.
This is why Brother Mark is the "King". I don't think Mark has ever done anything that I didn't absolutely love and admire. For AlexBorvin (below), I believe Jazz is the musician's genre. It can be the most intricate and complex style of music. I've known many musicians in my over 50 years of production. The vast majority don't believe they have mastered their craft until they can competently play Jazz. Mark "The King" has a deep connection. You are hearing masterful Jazz. Thanks for sharing this with us. Cosmo
Brother Cosmo greetings and salutations. Thank you for this visit. The feedback and compliments are received graciously. There is still some ground to cover but we're getting there. I dropped you an e-mail. Keep Mrs. V laughing.
