Wow, I'm a lost for words. Everything about this composition screams "play me as loud as possible until the neighbors call the cops" hahaha-- magnificent work!!
Hey Mark, Your answer to Richard's comment should be etched on a gold plate and framed. There are a few who would stand to benefit from having it etched on their forehead, to be honest with you. Anyway. I came to jam out to this one again (its Jared from The Monzder Squadd, i run this profile for Cyberflares and Pnnywze, as they are alot busier with their own pages than I am lol. My brother is also working on several Squadd songs, doing this page for them was my idea)
So far in all my days of listening to music, this track remains the only one to fully immerse me in that imagined Noir world. Its so good, dude.
Greetings Jared! I rock with THE SQUADD/THE LOOSERZ CLUB! Lovin the energy you guys bring! The fact you enjoyed what you heard is no small matter with me. I truly appreciate the stop and feedback. Also the high accolades you gave for my comment to Richard is HEAVYWEIGHT!
Honestly, I dont think I could pull off something this refined and classy, King. Its a true masterpiece, and BaoBous guitar work is brilliant, too. You all did an amazing job Im a bit envious, haha.
Greetings Richard! Thank you for stopping by and sharing your impressions and compliments. I would beg to differ with you on not being able to "pull something off this refined and classy".
I had been on a long musical hiatus, like really long. Basically listening to the music of others but not doing any music of my own. I had foot surgery and recovery. You know "He makes me to lie down in green pastures". That's when the music became ALIVE again. So I would set aside time and started with my laptop and a MPK Mini with some loops and jumped in.
Practice is key. But most important keep ego out, and learn as much as you can from others. Ego will short circuit creativity. Ego will shine brightly but only for a brief moment. The musical gift we've been given when handled correctly and presented properly will shine brighter and longer. Heads up, There's a new sound being released. I sense it. Find your own sound within the new sound. Seek diligently for it, IT'S There. I wish I had time to go further on the subject. Long story short YOU CAN DO THIS AND MORE RICHARD!
I see that our boy Cosmo came by, both of you guys' songs are stuck in our heads tonight!
We just wanted to add that we hail from Louisville, KY - just a hop skip and a jump from Chi-town. Im familiar with Lincoln Park, Pnnywze and I went there with our Dad back in 2009, i think it was. And we've been to Chicago for work a few times back when we were still doing flooring. And Pnnywze was stuck at the greyhound station in downtown Chicago for 4 days back in 2016 lol. Funny story, ill ask him to tell u sometime
Yep Cosmo is def in the building! Stuck at Greyhound? I gotta hear that story LOL. That area is way off the chain! Ive got a niece in Hebron KY! You swinging back through is appreciated big time. Im glad this one is still spinning on the ol mental tape recorder lol!
How could anyone not move to this one. Even my dogs were dancing around. You keep getting better and better Mark. This is brilliant brother. You set the standard for Jazz Fusion and now Funk. You got the FUNK!!!! Cosmo
Cosmo! The Man with the master plan! Its a great thing for your stop and critique. Its good for the doggies too LOL! Youve been busy? Me too. I see you uploaded some saxodelicious! I gotta check it out in a bit. TTYL.
Brother Mark, just saw this now. First impression is how clear and well mixed is the track. I always love everything you create and this track impresses. You are the master of transitions. My all-time favorite jazz fusion artist. Every jazz fan you check out your channel here. Perfection. Cosmo
I'm from the Chicago area. North of the Chicago Loop is a neighborhood called Lincoln Park. There was a club like a cave in the basement of an office building called The Jazz Bulls. The acoustics and the "In Yo Face" vibe was sensory overload! That's where I got this feeling from. I have never forgot that feeling. So your comment made me feel some type of way! Gratitude for the interest.
As all my colleagues have said, an incredible composition by a true musical artist. I love the definition and clarity of the instruments; as Manuela says, it sounds like they're playing right in front of me. Around the 5-minute mark is my favorite partthat keyboard and that saxophone. If I close my eyes, I feel like I'm in a jazz club, dimly lit, with a cocktail on the table, enjoying the live music. Congratulations.
Greetings juankar. So what's amazing is that we can create the sounds we want when we want to. To have that ability speaks volumes. And to be able to hone our sounds and shape them anyway we want is an extra plus. All it takes is some time and patience. And Never Never Never let anyone tell you "YOU CAN'T DO THIS"! NEVER! Thanks for the time taken and feedback.
P.S. That's my fave section too!.
Idk wat i could even add that hasnt been said by the other fans of this track. I just know i wanted to press play again after it was over. The talent and expertise is obvious and im a true fan of music, its what i breathe. There are 1000 things i can admire and learn from and be inspired by here, and thats what truly matters. I bow to a master. (MasterS, i kno baobou's work as well) Thanks for sharing a masterpiece
Aaron! Thanks. This work with BaoBou was the sum total of the power of the collab! Bouncing ideas kinda like THE SQUADD! Its good to know what happened here hit right. I appreciate your musical perspective big time.
I only vaguely remember writing something like this years ago: "I feel like I'm standing right in front of the stage, admiring the musicians live, while the magnificent rhythm flows through my body." Something like that. Unfortunately, the comment disappeared during my absence.
But the feeling is still the same. That live atmosphere I get when listening to this piece is still there and fascinates me just as much as it did back then!
What I'm trying to say is, Marc, you've created something timeless with this song. Not many people manage that. Just like back then, I still bow to you and your art today.
Warm regards, Manuela
Manuela Thanks and Thanks again. The compliments and accolades you give is fuel for the musical fire. We're fortunate to be a part of a community that we can share music, which is a universal language of it's own. No drama, no strings attached. Just music!
It's great this one still resonates with you. What you heard is exactly what I intended to convey. Thanks again and go ahead and have a fine workweek.
Hello King !!!! Yet another masterpiece by real virtuosos like you and the other guys.....!!!!!!!!!!! Just like TrippleN97 wrote....!!!! Best Regards !!!! Cheerssssssssssssss !!!
Top of the day fanisatt. Im glad you got the chance to check this one out. Ive done a few tweaks so to bring it back to the fresh zone. And believe it or not Im feeling a surge of nu funk! Stay tuned! You might need some air freshener LOL!
This is some hardcore stuff. It sounds like a ton of experience and expertise. Sometimes all you can do is listen and learn from the OGs.
Much respect!
So, youre really strong in the kind of music you make. This is another fantastic track, with an amazing groove, so many layers of instruments, and an incredibly strong bass linehonestly, what can I say?
You could easily send this to the radio and have it played everywhere. Regards, Chris
Ah yes Kay/Oli! The flow of intuition is unmatched when we doing what we do. Thanks for the time taken for this listen. The compliments are received humbly.
You hit levels of complexity but with a pure mellowness that is aspirational. Great tune with some really cool parts and jazz intuitions. I love your work, it's really great.
As a drummer, the first thing I heard was beautiful drums. Steady, in (not simple) time absolutely. I re-listened to the track a few times because the first one always gives the wrong impression. Technically it sounds great, I was impressed with the final file like quality. I think I would put it in new jazz, so I justify the different passages from the instruments you added. I liked that the bass is often out of sync with the drums, this makes the piece of special technique. Congratulations. In general, it is a very good job.
LINEARFADE! Greetings. The detail you shared in your feedback is very helpful. I'm still learning and this type of track requires a lot of consideration for many different elements. It's also great to know a few listens was necessary to draw a fair conclusion. It's good to know this effort proved to be a decent listen.
Hello Mark, i aint been about for a bit but i knew what to expect here. its sounds absolutely great on my speakers, every instrument is so clear the space and arrangement, the flute is stellar mate the drums are fantastic too and that bass is fire, i assume this isn't the first cut judging the comments but if this the final cut, its not missing anything at all, this is a fabulous pice of work by one of our communities finest, great job mate
Thanks Paul. Welcome back from your mini hiatus. Most important, what you heard sounds good. You know over the years I prefer to lay out the ideas, improve on the ideas then bring everything come into full focus. Your stop is always a great thing.
Love the drum intro and the build. Fretless bass? What are you using for that? Drums sound amazing to me. Great composition. Damn, hit the download button but no go lol. All the best, Chris.
Greetings Chris. It's good you got a chance for the stop, compliments, and feedback. So the Fretless Beast is the Native Instruments Session Bassist Upright Bass. My personal favorite. The Drums, EZ Drummer 3 Jazz kit that I worked overtime to extract that jazz nectar out of it LOL!
Shoot me your e-mail. I'll be more than happy to gift you a copy.
Hej, Mark, second time around. Love this tune, maybe less verb on the guitar and a bit more on the flute, but that's just being pedantic at this point. just quality music, and it's put that OMG smile on my face. So there is so much right about this tune. I realize that I miss these complex jazz tunes. Gives me that Brain Buzz. ehh!
Steven! I appreciate your time and reevaluating what I got going on here. I'm at the fine tuning stage for this track. Per your suggestions, I'm making adjustments that will be apparent on the next update. Still I'm having a total blast, so I won't stop until It's just right. Stay tuned.
