thanks man, it turns out that Shirley Scott was more of a jazz musician, and she would make instrumental songs with her organ, this is like one of the only songs that she sang in
All advice is appreciated. Most of my stuff is quite linear because i used to have the habit of roughly finishing stuff after i found the sound i was looking for. Ritchie hawting will be in town the 21'st, sold out unfortunately but i will definitely check out some of his sets.
A touching tribute for an historic tragedy... of course, the indians vocals make the job.
Did you use a human beat box for the beat?
Without the sum up under your track, this sound could be from africa too (i say that because it sounds like geoffrey oryema sometimes) . The tribal aspect is perfectly transcribed here! music for souls and spirits...
Difficult to find something wrong in this track: all is perfect, i like it!
BLEEP
Bleep i had a listen to oryema he is fantastic i remember 35 years ago listening to Ipi Tombi in the royal concert hall glasgow, scotland but they also danced fantastic tribal ensemble bit unusual for scotland at the time, i wish i had half their energy. thankyou for the kind words. best regards Robbie.
do you know FRONT 242? your song is totally in this way! i like it! it remembers me this forgotten years, at the beginning of the house music... FRONT 242 had created his own style: "warbeat"
+1
Oh yes, I definitely know of Front 242! Their work has never been my favorite sort of industrial/electronic stuff, but I've touched on them over the years... including earlier this year when I picked up a cassette of theirs which was still in it's wrapping (25 cents). I can't remember if I've heard it yet or not, maybe I should later today! The term "warbeat" definitely became absorbed into electronic culture in more recent years, and it's good to hear it thrown about again! I was thinking more of Ohgr (a'la "Devils In My Details") while preparing to compose this. Instead it turned out to be something pretty different, maybe more outspoken. Thank you for taking a listen to this, and leaving your words!
yea - actually I have dropped this idea of starting off with the low beat. tried to blend the drums in more in the most recent update of this. thanks for your comment.
Hi Drizz, yes i wanted to tie in to the track an ominous story line which fitted the music which i did first then the story i think its good to let imagination flow like rappers do and exaggerate the story otherwise it would be boring. Its also good to expand my imagination in a childlike manner i have lost a lot of that the older i get. i would like to do some music for a video but i dont have one in any case similar to WC Olo Garb does in " thirsty Rivers which you can see on you tube he is fantastic.
Thanks man! Yes, me and Raymond the drummer did a few of these already, if you look in my profile there are a few there with Hemanifezt. I love that, Blues and Hiphop - what a great combination. And you know, all started with the blues, then came soul, then Funk, Disco and then Hiphop. Straight line...and now they meet again :D
really pleasant to listen, between ground and clouds... you said this track was chill out, i will add "deep" just before :)
No doubt, it's a good track

it's not really trance for me, more techno with an indus aspect... should personalise it in the way of ritchie hawtin!
you can do a "big bang" with this one if you add some details :)

the beat sound is lower than others instruments. It's certainly an artistic choice, right?
