on Wide open ft Angela Fleming by kykex
Hi Kykex

The song sounds good (to me) but it has a terrible accustic. Not the voice, just the complete rest of the track sounds like playing two times with much to much reverb and echos.
But i realy like the song that is behind all this or maybe more under all.

Maybe you should do a more clear master :)

But hey! dont mind at all, cause who am i to told you any about a clean mix? :) - right! nobody!

Itz a cool groovy reggea and the voice of Angela Fleming fits very well.

Hi Joe

This was the kind of suggestion i was looking for,i have always loved the delay and the reverb effect but perhaps too much hehe, i'll try to clean this a bit.

Thank you!

Hi DeLaBeatz.

Cool one!

I am into a little project around the dark and in that case i produced a band - the thinking zombies - and i believe that this track would realy fit for them, for a rap on - bad humans -

Would it be ok if i used your track?

Thanks for stopping by Joe. I'm glad you are liking it. trying to think how I can effect the zombie voice a little to sustain interest. same with the meows. Anyway, i tried twice this morning to upload new version without success. It seems i will need to do a new upload for the revision. Thanks again for your comment. Regards - Dan

Nice one Orlando.

It has something from a movie. Or maybe it´s for a movie. Sounds like watching a great landcape. Very impressive pictures needed for this track.

Cool work, nice sounds you created.

on The Golden Princess by GoldenOokami
Hi GoldenOokami

Sounds like "middleage music in a new style" to me, not realy like jazz.

Nice soundscape for me ears. Maybe the bass is a little to freaky for my opinion but thats not important.
It´s nice calm and relaxed, just right for a little daydream.

But who the heck is "the person", "the guy", "this guy"?
Sounds a bit like - it´s not allowed ta say his name -
Is he Lord Voldemort?????

If he´s so important for this track, why you dont tell us who he is?

Hello Joe. Appreciate your comment. As other loopers have named other genres the track could be, I decided to go with Fusion. As for my collab partner, I didn't post his name or anything because I wasn't sure if he wanted to be publicly named. But I fixed that, for he confirmed he indeed didn't mind. I appreciate you bringing that to my attention. Most people wouldn't care to question about this other "guy" for he could have been some big time record producer. Anyhow, I appreciate your words! And I'm sure Rosen would too.

Respect KBone147, this is truely cool work.

All fits good. The music works great to the story that Shamoozey tells/sings.
I love the trompets and all this much sounds you used. And the choir is so fine.
The grove is so cool and the story makes all so extreme sad - exelent.

A fav for that!

Thank you Joe for enjoying! I try to give people a story instead of just a regular song that they would hear on the radio or whatever. It allows them to experience something that would trip them out or inspire or expand their own perceptions and thoughts. Glad you like the glitch style and this song! Much Respect for enjoying.

on The Sting by DJSYNTHO
Hello

This reminds me on someting but i dont get it right now.
Nice voice on nice sounds. Good work i would say. Very powerfull.

You ask for something that you could do maybe better.
Ok, the music is cool, much sounds. But maybe sometimes too much ..... the voice could get just a little reverb ..... the end needs a rework or a fadeout with music and voice.
-dont mind to much, cause it is only my opinion and i am not realy good in mastering at all-

But overall i like your work

Thank you Joe for the kind comment! I had fun listening to your progression in the mixing and mastering of this song as well. I've been trying to focus on doing the best that I can based on the time I allow myself, and then leaving things just as is, hence no updates to the mix after uploading. I guess in this case that was good enough. Also been working on getting good wide mixes that are mono compatible, and listening to music in the mornings on mono headphones. I modified the headphones I use in the studio with a switch that can easily change from stereo to mono as well. I try to keep in mind that a lot of people still listen in mono on phones and portable speakers etc, so it's good to keep in mind. You also did some great work, and I appreciate you giving good feedback! Thanks again!

on Proximal Vicinity- Short Bus mixing comp by Ensam
I listen to your masteredup version of this song after i did my own versions.

This is a diffrent version of the SBM track and it was a intresting idea with this pichedup piano. But it makes the track in my ears/eys a bit too shiny. But maybe it isnt realy the piano.......
What i realy love is the drum part. The bassdrum comes very nice.

Cool work

on Proximal Vicinity - ShortBusMusic Mix Comp by WongKiShoo
After a lot of work on my own version(s) i startet to listen on others versions. And what i can say is this

You done the best incomming of the synt at the beginning!
That is realy cool and i am not sure what i will do now :)

You asked for any probs in the mix - for my opinion, this intro drums to the 3.rd part are much to low.

This master is real close to the SBM version but sounds much better and the timing is very cool.
Real good work George.

WongKiShoo replied 13th Sep 2014 - 10 years ago
Hey Joe :)

Thanks for your comment. I work a lot with house music and reverse reverb is a very common way of introducing new sounds into the mix - it is pretty cool trick though huh? :D

The drum intro that you hear on the 3rd part was a mistake of mine. I got lazy in some parts and applied a high pass filter to the mixer track and filtered out things I shouldn't have - I didn't realise until I listened to other people's mixes lol.

I think I will go back and start again on the whole thing and this time be more adventurous :)

Thanks for listening!

on Chiptune Folk Waltz by Geophase
As a gamelover since 1980, i can tell you this is a real cool work.

I think you should mix the middle part a bit down, cause it sounds like a distortion efect right now.

This is for sure cool for a kind of a run and jump game.
Its so jumpy this walz
