Nice track! :)
However, to my liking, the drum kit's reverb is way too loud and long, maybe could've put this effect on the singer's voice to glue it together a bit more.
I find the synths quite interesting :>
Hi Joyce,
Thanks for the comment.
I could probably use some more reverb on Stacy's voice, but I wanted to have it sounding "dry as a funeral drum".
For me this is a "sad" song; even if I did not write the text, Stacy's words are a perfect fit for this track.
She is buried in the indifference of the world around her, and all the noises of everyday's life are just making she feeling more and more distant.
This is also the reason for the heavy reverb on the drums: I wanted each snare hit to be a "shock".
Sorry for the lengthy explanation of my intents... not sure I achieved what I wanted but I gave it a try!
Thanks again for finding the time to comment the track.
Ciao, Domenico
Hello, thank you for listening and commenting! Can you come back and give me specific time segments where you felt that the notes were not in key? I guess I will beg to differ until you give me more information. I really would value your reply though, as maybe I have made a mistake somewhere. Thank you in advance!
I've got some suggestions, you may ignore this! ^^;
The synth sounds starting around 0:40 could be reduced a lot, because it's a tiny nibble bit too loud~
And add a few melodies? But maybe that's not what you want in this track.
Well, it sure sounds aggressive! =^._.^= ∫
I assume this middle part you took is the bridge or intro?
If it's one of both, then I think it's a bit too long if this is place in an entire track!
Don't listen to me if you don't agree! ^^;
The part i took is the bridge. I understand you think is too long, but, in the entire song, there is only one bridge, and one drop, and it was my goal to make something a bit long, but always upfilting before the drop (i cut the preview before the drop !)
ps: sorry for my english ...
The song sounds very basic to me. And the melodic synths seem out of place o:
Near the end where the beat loop stops suddenly with a threshold clip could maybe be switched to the beat fading out~
Sorry you took it the wrong way. But yea its an opinion. The other guy who commented says the mixing quality was good. You say its to loud so that makes it your opinion.
The bass drum from the drum kit seems to be slightly too loud to the rest of the instruments. It's enhanced or EQ'd?
I'm listening through my studio headphones from Sennsies HD 380 Pro for your info.
To me, I feel like this is missing a melody. Maybe an electric distorted guitar can fit in to make this complete.
Thanks for listening. The bass to me sounds good on my speakers (krk rokits) also when I played it in my car it sounded fine. But hey we all have different prefrences and opinions on how we like our bass.
Right at 0:04 there's a threshold glitch, lowering the volume of the synth melody by a few dB could fix that. I heard another one at 0:45.
At 0:46 It's nice to hear a change to a string ensemble in staccato. If you have the tools, you could add more reverb to this, so it's more glued together and feels as a whole.
Try playing with the velocities if you want, because the track has a constant same volume.
It's fun to hear a different track, I like the idea behind this :)
Hey- thanks for the times of these, I haven't been able to tell where it was. I'm still a little new to the program I use (mixcraft 6) and I'm now fiddling with equilizers. That sound made a static at any volume I set it to, which makes me think it's the key. Thank you for this! I haven't had this problem in the past as my headphones are really good and tend to pick up stuff like that. Effects are new to me and I need to figure those out. Thanks for the help!
Very interesting intro with the bagpipes! When the saxophone plays, it gave a little jazz feeling at first, but with the percussion's rhythm, it's more of a western style than anything else, it's cool.
The track is nicely glued together.
Yeah, it is a mixture of many things. I like doing eclectic stuff although it's not always necessarily a good idea. The ingredients must be properly balanced to make the track sound ok. I hope that we succeeded this time in that respect.
Thanks alot for the positive feedback!:)
Thank you, I usually take several loops and chop them together to make a new one. I strictly use acid pro, they have a great chopper so I can do just that.
After 1:02 the acoustic guitar seems to disappear a little and the volume levels overall don't seem to be mixed properly.
It's really neat how you put together a song so quickly. However, using a higher quality microphone will already make a huge difference!
Keep it up :)
I don't know the song, but this sounds very nice.
However, I have to point out which piano you used. The piano sounds slightly dull and one you'd use during vintage times.
Maybe if you use a Yamaha piano, it could sound prettier? o:
Thank you for your recommendation. Believe it or not, I'm using the best stuff I have. In this situation, I'm using Nexus 2, Dance Volume 2. Other VST's are too robotic and uninteresting. Fl Keys is very great for my CPU, but it's sounding is way too computerized. I apologize for my sounding being not pretty, but when you only have so much make-up, you do the best that you can. :) Take care, and thanks again!
In my opinion, this piece is great. However, the synth melody in the beginning and end could make be altered to a slightly more friendly synth? Because now it sounds like it's attacking thy ears.
That's all the feedback I got. I really like the wobbies in this though ^^
In the melody, I mostly hear random notes that are out of tune o.O But that's okey, people like that. I guess.
Sorry, I don't know what else to say about this D:
by melody you means in overall(the strings) of just the "surprise" one at 2:05 ? and thanks for this comment. To be honest I did some kind of impro for all the melodies so maybe this look a lot ramdom :S
But I think each togeter make sometings NOT ramdom check at 3:00 min when the string overlap the "surprise" solo !
Thank you very much for your support! I'm happy that you enjoyed listening. The lead guitar is by MWRatridge, and there are two acoustic and three electric guitar tracks by ShortBus as well. Thanks again!
Very pretty sounding track :) Does remind me of a drama movie when stuff happens.~ And then a song like this plays up front.
Your voice is really interesting, did you apply filters or an equalizer on purpose or was it the mic? ^^
Bringing in the L-mid tones with an equalizer would definitely bring more tone and clarity to your beautiful voice.
I don't use a real mic...it's just a headset and I use garageband to record it. There are diff set ups with that of course, and I will say it again, that I really should invest in a real one eventually.. ha. Thanks again!
The accordion intro reminds me a bit of my country :P
The piano is applied in a nice way, doesn't jump out too much, which is good.
The deep bass rolls sound interesting to this track.
I would prefer this track without the synth arps.
thank you so much for your advice and comments onorawr ! EazyBeatz surly understands your point of view. please stay tuned, as I continue to better my passion in music so that you may enjoy it. :)
Yay! I finally found another orchestral composer!
It's nicely done. But to criticize your instruments. You could go for a higher quality string ensemble: Session Strings, CineStrings, BML or Symphobia series.
Also, most of the time the brass seems to be shouting quite a lot of the same notes instead of giving an actual melody to listen to.

When the refrain starts 1:48 the melody is good, but then quickly turns into playing random notes, sadly.
