If I was cruising the commercial radio waves and happened upon this tune I'd think myself very fortunate,dialling into my favourite collaboration team on a relatively obscure website amongst the cyber clutter that is the internet and getting this quality is nothing short of outstanding!
I just love the careful attention with which you support Pat's vocals Richie,it's just so considered and appropriate.....the way her projection is placed within the mix is superb,it's like manna coming out of my speakers...you mentioned once before how it's no small responsibility producing material that's on a par and complimentary to Patricia's skills,I can well imagine and it's very apparent throughout every composition you do....the placement of every element is almost like Feng Shui on a musical level.....the woman is amazing,the man is a wizard.....fantastic sound,totally on the sweet spot!

Love the title...who said HipHop was in decline,this track proves the opposite,I would have liked a smoother segue between the nostalgic element and drum groove..reminds me spiritually of Marcel Duchamp and the Dadaists on some levels,which is pretty cool where I come from.

Hey man..that's some smooth groove you've got going down here....love the way the sample vocals resonate throughout the composition.....there's a very slight harshness to the flow compared against the 'I'm in love' vocals and unfortunately there's only one way to fix it properly...capital investment! lol... seriously,if they had of been done through a top line Neumann M147 tube mic running out of an Avalon 737 tube pre..well the vocal boundaries would be sweet as and ringing like a bell....there's plenty of software EQ's and filters you can use but nothing beats the real deal,I only mention this because to get a great track like this that tiny incremental boost,and that feeling of real 'breathing air' it requires the best equipment to do it..it's why Hip hop samples so many old school pieces in some respects I guess...I wish I had some of that equipment! lol...excellent work!... cheers Dave

Every time I listen to one of your tracks I end up experiencing it from an elevated position,that is looking down......it's a very explainable phenomenon,it's uplifting!...people often get transported while listening to music but sometimes to places they'd like to leave!lol,you never have this effect though....to say your musical vision is broad is an understatement,I think your tapping into more than the sum of your experiences and creating a little magic...but without any hidden subterfuge,it's all real.

Hey man...cool sounding vibes! Pop music is something that requires an enormous skill set to produce properly,man the mix on this piece is outstanding!all the fades and synth transients are crystal clear with a smooth expressive swell of bass on the choruses...Derek's vocals are very suited to this groove and stamp it into the successful contemporary mould..if I was sitting in a professional studio listening to this in the final mixdown stage I'd be way happy...quality work that deserves high praise even more so for the fact that it's outside your usual musical prospectus..excellent! cheers Dave

Ok guys..I'm taking the gloves off from now on (mainly due to the fact that I'm doing all my first take monitoring through my Auratone speakers now and I've raised them up to ear level,they do not lie)......Hot Damn!..the track still sounds fantastic!lol(as if it wouldn't,the mid range is where all the serious stuff sinks or swims)...I just love the attention to detail that you put into your work Richie,the drum track alone is golden,fantastic tom fills..I was getting quite nostalgic listening to this,it's pure early 80's rock..a lost fragment of the last vestige slowly subsiding into the quicksand of musical oblivion...sad...(lol) I just did a flashback (sorry)...ahhh,what can I say ...there is only one way Pat's voice can be improved and that's to run it through something like an Avalon737 tube pre,their only about $2,700 haha....and even then the results would only be in a 10% margin..the woman is amazing (all hail the Queen)....Man you keep stepping up your game and producing quality material,it really is a pleasure to listen to,and so informative about how to do it right.....quality effort with a superb result!

Ah..I was cruising the forum threads and saw you'd put up a track,hang on a sec and I'll slip on my steel capped boots...My first impression is of a Eurovisioned Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies (pity about ol'Humpy by the way,he deserved better than second last!)hehe...there's a lot of great staccato phrasing going on and the progressions throughout the piece are well structured and segue well...in fact you've done all the hard leg work conceptually..I wouldn't get too bogged down with things like sidechaining,compressing the bejezus out of things and bass boosting initially...these sort of trancey,electro tracks usually incorporate huge soundscapes with epic scene presence..the best way to track a big sound is to layer things..one synth part for instance is made up of five or six separate tracks with different eq filters,reverbs and left ,right,centre panning,same with the rhythm section....before you know it you've got that 'big' sound.........still,I like this version because it doesn't blast your socks off...cool!..one question,what does EDCA stand for please? cheers Dave

Well I'm listening to this through a new pair of cans...every nuance is revealed..Sweeeeeeet! Like someone got a cocktail shaker,poured in some over-proof happiness,a month of sunshine,four fifths of contentment and a few blocks of life's purpose......Patricia I have absolutely no idea how you manage to get the performances you deliver so spontaneously..I mean I have some inkling of the process,but you radiate rather than project,if ever there was a case of God given talent you may very well be a legitimate recipient.......The music is first class and even more notable is the fact that as a premeditated construct you would expect a certain amount of regimentation and constriction in a made to order composition,quite the opposite prevails,here's a living breathing self sustaining creation,every phrase right down to the closing cymbal tail is fantastic!....almost too good! lol

OOOhh...Love the intro!...man this is way up the Coooooool side of town..I have never been to Chicago,but this is CHICAGO!.....Post BeBop on the cusp of the industrial hallucinogenic era..my favourite sort of music!...man I can listen to this for the rest of history...there's no better place to be,love the acoustic nylon!!!!!..super track man,one of my favourites of yours!......awesome outro!.....the best music comes from Germany!like a lot of things!lol....love the train fx!.....probably my favourite track in the last 10 years!...superb! Man I'm 99% Scotts..I've always wanted to make Celtic music but wouldn't know where to start for the life of me..after listening for about 4 bars I can feel the tug of the genetic code stirring (thank God there were no lead bagpipes..they always make me feel like marching off to war! lol).....seriously though Bill this is absolutely beautiful,and your vocals fall into that true 'folk' area..a place where the impact isn't measure in chromatic gymnastics but in sincerity and timing....it takes me to a place I've never been but would love to visit...fantastic arrangement,with enough polish to play a large concert hall yet still blow the froth off a pub full of Guinness! cheers Dave :)

Hey Neil..interesting groove mate..I'm enjoying the guitar and I'm sure you could expand this into a full blown rock opera! haha...I tell you what though,I do think this track could hit another level with some added big,bigger,biggest bass...but not the sort I do! lol..It's got this hybrid modern feel(the song)and including some fully contemporary (sick)wobble,or sine bass is the way to go..you know that super speaker busting low end sub madness that's prevalent in some of today's more avant-garde music...I have no clue how they do it,but that's what it needs maybe....good to see ya back in the saddle mate!..cheers Dave :)

Ozark Mountain Daredevils(amongst others)...well hardly,but those dudes would be running around in ecstatic circles if they heard this!lol...I very often find myself making comparisons between your music and established icons within the industry..this is totally wrong....I should be reviewing their music and comparing it to yours!.........The choice of acoustic guitar for the main rhythm element immediately stamps this tune with that unmistakable intimacy and close projection of a live situation...Is it my imagination or are the vocals similarly inflected,either through superb mixing,a ghost of the perfect reverb or some subtle alchemy beyond human detection...whatever the case this is as close as you can come to an 'in the room' musical experience.....and what an experience it is, fantastic!..more a distillation than a collaboration.
