on Let It Go by rei4real
Being an old rocker you had me from even before you thought of playing this tune!.....great!..great infectious rockin' groove..you can't fail when you crank this one up.....forget everything you ever heard!...turn it up and get into it!..it's that simple!.....Rei..I'd like to see Ronny Woods get the sack...have you take his spot...within six months I guarantee you'd have reinvented..(Rei-nvented!)the 'Stones' and gone on to get them another chart topper!........I'm not kidding! cheers mate....planet :)

on know thyself by rei4real
Ah!...only a second into the first bar and I know this is going to have that signature 'Rei' sound..the one we all hang out for!..it's a combination of things,a mean guitar central riff, lead guitar transients, incredible syncopated rhythms, warm keyboard overtures, and poignant percussive inserts...but what really nails it for me is the way all these elements are combined seamlessly into an advancing musical progression that only Rei can create and is his trademark.......most people look their whole lives for a sound they can call their own...you've obviously had it for years....cheers mate! planet:)

Massive!...the prime ingredient in this piece is fun which is what funk is really all about..that's why people love it so much!....put together the father and son virtuosity of the 'Bones'...the young shining light on the 88's Pedro Casillas and you have a recipe for some serious funkalisciousness......Bloody marvellous!...cheers planet :)

Extraordinary!...What a great audio production..It is amazing how different people react to a common thread ..in this case Eshar's acapella....this piece has real scope and vision with an excellent rhythmic undercurrent...you also give full presence to her voice by lowering the ambience and focusing when needed...outstanding!...cheers planet :)

The Salvation Army would love to recruit you at this time of year...great rendition of an old standard...Jeez,it takes me fifteen minutes just to decide what colour socks I'm going to wear in the morning!......The 'Bones' are in a class all their own....quality!...cheers planet :)

Hi Planet, Alexander and I are going busking in the run up to Christmas. I bought this jazz playalong book with all of the traditional songs but with a swing backing. We are hoping to make the shoppers feet move to our jazzy beat, and give us their spare cash...
I'm glad you liked my quick stab at a Christmas tune...
Cheers Slap...

on Twang Thang by johnnygadget
Pandemonium broke out today at the Jet Propulsion Loopboratory as contact was re-established with the Gadget1 space probe...scientists had all but given up hope after the the probe had stopped transmitting for an extended period..It's five year mission to find the existence of music outside of our solar system was hoped to revitalise a flagging home musical scene....a spokesman for J.P.L. was heard to remark.."Well the signal was weak..but once we computer enhanced it we found it to be very Twangy with some deep space echo thang happening..sort of country but very spaced out..we've got our top people on it"...confidence is high that the Gadget probe will remain transmitting well and beyond it's mission parameters and continue to function for years to come.

on I Want To Go by MattandRyan
Sounds interesting ..I like it!...there's a lot of filters being used between the vocals and the main synth line..I would have preferred a bit more separation..but that's only my spin on it...you've got a healthy rhythm section going with a strong lyrical content...cool work guys! cheers planet :)

Hey Pedro great old style feel you've laid down here..it restores my faith in the younger generation when I hear guys like you and Alexander carrying Jazz into the next millennium...we'er in safe hands..awesome dynamics all round guys!.......Oh,just while I'm here...the way to post a link is easy...from this page look up to your menu bar(above the Looperman content..you'll see http://.looperman.com/tracks_detail.etcetc....Ok hold down your left mouse button and scroll over this, let the button go...now you will see it highlighted..click your right mouse button and choose 'Copy'..left click....Ok now when you post your track in the forum area just right click then left click 'Paste'...jobs done...cheers mate :)

thanks dude! there is quite a gap in the younger generation of me and Alexander! i'm 21 he is 12 and he seriously has far more a sophisticated command of single note harmony than i've ever had. If he can play like that at 12, just imagine how good he WILL be at 21! its just scary! haha

I truly am so envious of that young man's talent!

Just don't turn on the ignition when she's in the garage!.....Hey man..another brilliant rhythm section! Holy Cow some of those key runs are as good as the nylon fingerstyle!.....you've been holding back on us..this current "Epic" trend is fantastic..you've got a great overview of your playing abilities and creative directions...very,very impressive and above all super enjoyable!..cheers planet :)

Planet,
Thank you again and again. This community is the best. I feel comfortable opening up without having to fit into any preconceived expectation. I will soon post some symphonic compositions. For now, I'm on the road playing finger style acoustic and singing....that's it. As simple and straight forward as I can make it. Thank you for the encouragement, I continue to gain confidence thanks to my looperfriends.

on Machine by scratchrabbitt
I can see why this particular genre lives up to it's name....this production has all your usual attention to detail....the initial synth pad came as a relief....It's not my cup of tea(distortion on the drums)but that's only me,not a criticism.....this is going to happen when people listen out of their comfort zones..but I can still appreciate the mastering and production values which are good...cheers planet

Great guitar...I like that compressed tone with just the right amount of sustain...overlying a funky MissB groove..sounds great all up..one day file sizes won't be an issue and we'll be able to hear tunes like this in all their sonic glory...cheers planet :)

on BEATS ME by RonGallagher
Great ideas always flow from cool beats.....If your anything like me..Drum arranging and programming is probably the most labour intensive area in track making..there's a lot of work in this piece and the beat has real presence and authority..such a groove!..the way the bass comes in and out of the mix is very effective...great crossovers all over the place..expert synth lines and polished guitar chops.....I can easily visualise this piece as the sound track to a sophisticated surf flick.....Cowabunga! cheers planet :)
RonGallagher
RonGallagher replied Unknown
Thanks Planet. I was actually thinking of you when I posted this one as I knew you would dig the bass and drum connection. Yes drum programming is the most intensive part of a detailed piece. I have focused on this element for some time now. Hope to get more vocal tracks up here soon as well. Thanks again Planet, you are such a positive friend here. A big reason I have made this place my creative home. Stay Low Bro......

Hey Isaak...I don't understand German...but it sounds great!..you've got your voice right out front in the mix(something a lot of people are a bit scared to do)...plus you've got a really well modulated tone..I think your going to be able to develop into a great rapper...cheers planet :)

on You! My song... by SLAPJOHNSON
Super!...Love that line "I could dance my life away"....When you hear one of these compilations of one individual's musical dexterity you think...Holy Cow,there must have been a logjam in the reincarnation switchboard the day this guy was born..there's about a half dozen different muso's inside him!...and to top it all off he's just put a lot of Bass players out of work!(great solo by the way!)...I'm in agreement with Bill..we should give up playing or at least find an instrument you can't play...Hmmmm..this is going to be hard. lol...fantastic track mate, smooth and smokey and way sexy...cheers planet :)

Hi Planet, or should I say Mr 1000+ reviews (well done Man). I loved the studio pic you posted, wow! What a set up. I will post mine up soon (to be honest, mine's a very small one! Studio that is!!!).Thanks for the kind words on the track, I've been kind of busy doing other stuff to get the lyrics finished on this track. So today I pushed everything to one side and cracked on. The music's been finished since July! But then again I do have 38 other tracks that need finishing off. If only we had more hours in a day!

Cheers Slap...

Hey Randy...If your not ripping it up playing, your arranging!..and this is a gem..full of that big top headliner sound you only get from bands that have grown up together.....it's got that unmistakeable 'Hit' sound of the Eighties...big guitars and big bucks....great!..cheers planet :)

Hi Planet!
Thanks for your review of this short tune. As I mentioned to Bill, I loved this song a lot and now wished I made it longer.

Arranging already made loops is fun to do...like a giant puzzle. Find the pieces that will fit together just right.
I have a few more I will put together and upload in the near future.

Thanks again,
Randy

Thanks again planet. I'm glad you went on a visual journey with this one. I always try to paint a picture with my music. So glad someone else could see it. As for the cool piano...I can't take credit. All of my sounds come from this great site called looperman. You should ckeck it out some time. LOL I really look forward to the day I can make my own loops though. That will be the day I become an official hermit. Thanks again for the review. Very kind of you.

Thanks I appreciate the review and I am looking foward to reviewing some of your tracks. The belt is a replica of John Cena's original belt. It was given to the Pittsburg Boys and girls club by Cena and a friend of mine that runs the club brought it to the game. Thanks again for the review!!!

Cool mate!...I like that shifting deep synth at the bottom of the mix..the string pads are cool...seeing as this is an endorsement to a political campaign I have mixed feelings and can't really comment in that direction (I always keep my mouth shut about other peoples political leanings)...but music wise I think it's great..Oh,and one thing seeing as how this will probably be played outside or in a big space..don't add any reverb to it....line delay through a public address system will take care of that......hope it goes well for you...cheers planet :)

i have mixed feelings about the whole thing too lol
my singer is very into the campaign and i'm supporting her. It seems to me that Obama is on the level but i never really trust politicians.
at the same time anything i can do to keep Palin out of the white house i will.. she scares the hell out of me.

This really works.....I love the coiled tension within this piece..very effective with the whispering counterpoint to the piano.....'Walk on water" is a favourite line with me and it's inclusion here paints a vivid picture, coupled with the thunder and lightning you've created a remarkable track....very cool! cheers planet :)

Hey mate...cool composition!...at first I thought it was a bit bass heavy but then realised you'd done that part to the intro on purpose...when the higher frequencies come into play it starts to rock!.....great variation and nice percussive interludes...great work D !..cheers planet :)
DaMann
DaMann replied Unknown
Now I really realize what mastering can do =D. Is it hard to believe I made this with my messy small studio?

I used a stereo imager and soloed the low bands then brought the x value thingy up to pretty much cancel out the low band solo.

Thanx Planet. The synth is actually a loop from here called buo_wamp_verse . I forgot whose it is. :P I ran it thru a Parametric EQ.

The lyrics to this are...

Standing on the edge of something
Just realized I know nothing
Of the world and the ways of how to change it
Please God please give me something
I'm stuck here believing in nothing
Don't know if I'm gonna make it

Today I saw the future
First it made me mad
ALways seeing what we want
Never what we have
We don't like feeling love
Or seeing what is sad
Keep our eyes to the skies above
Instead of in our hands
If we could just talk about it
Instead of just trying to fight it
The cure that heals the ail
That thing that lifts the veil
I think it's coming soon
The signs are everywhere
Passing from one friend to another
One day we will have to discover
That thing that lifts the veil
The thing that cures the ail
I hope it's coming soon
There's not much more I can bear
