I love both versions (yours and Mr. Mittens).
Great job, this is a head bobber and a booty shaker. I have to agree with
Zacvoos that this sounds more like trance. Ya done good :)
Another clean, controlled piece. Again, your instrumentation is excellent. This is a great foundation for either a keyboard solo or I was hoping for the bass to do more variation, however, this is still good as it is. Also, with the elements of jazz you've got going on, you can afford to put in beat changes (faster, imho) but that's just my personal taste. Marking this as another fave from your musical portfolio.
Hi, wikkid! Thanks for listening my track again and again. As you said, bass notes and rhythm pattern was same iteration of different degrees. In drums, I dragged midi pattern from superior drums 2.0 onto the midi track and let it go with out any changes. Next time, I pay much more attention that listener enjoys secret spicy ingredients in my piece. Thank you very much for your fantastic advice.
Thank you for another stellar creation. Reminds me of the 60s hits I used to listen to by Dionne Warwick and other big voiced singers. The orchestration on the songs they performed were amazing, and so are you violin notes.
So sweet and sharp! I love it. I agree with Discipline about the change at 1:30. Also, I truly enjoy the trail off endings. So dramatic.
Thank you again for sharing your talent.
Good Morning, wikkid! It's 5:30. The sound of violin is processed with morphing filter for more soften sound. Keyboad sounds comes from Zebrallete of u-he and Grandeur of Native Instruments. Thanks for listening again, wikkid! Anyway, wind and air turned into Autumn, here in Yokohama. Today, I'm going to go to the golf course with my friends without composing music. Have a good day!
Marked this as a fave since its another solid creation, though a bit more commercial (nothing wrong with that). Your hook is catchy, and I could definitely hear this on a music streaming site. There are several producers on Looperman I could see you working well with, but you may need to be more specific about the genres you are willing to do. Are you willing to do EDM, for example, something along the lines of a "Slide like this" Calvin Harris/Frank Ocean collab? Or how about something jazz influenced?
Also, since this is business, its never too soon to start protecting your intellectual rights.
If you haven't already, I'd suggest copyrighting your work before putting it up on the internet. This is something I advise to all, even those who do instrumentals. In the US, you can complete a copyright compiling several songs for less than $60. It can also be done online.
My best to you.
Thank you for the detailed feedback, I always appreciate that. This song is special to me because it is the first I had ever made with scratch including my own vocals. This song is actually on all major streaming sites and I paid to have it copyright-protected. In regards to genre, I'm young and still learning a lot about my own voice, so I'm open to anything, whether that is EDM, rap, or even something with conventional instruments like rock or funk.
Very good musical arrangement and melodies. There are a few issues with the mix (noticeable clipping when certain instruments come in and a few drum beats off) but those are things that can be fixed.
Is that you singing? If so, your voice is marvelous. so much depth and emotion!
All in all, the instrumentation and arrangements are powerful. You've got
skills and I hope you continue to upload tracks. My very best to you.
thank you for the feed back i do appreciate the comment and advise no it not me singing but on all the other tracks it is my own lyrics and vocals
kind regards

On the strength of this bluesy rock song, I'm listening to all your tracks on Looperman. Much like Neomorpheus said, this takes me back to playing in a live band (and getting paid next to nothing, but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world). I'm marking this as a fave, because it speaks to my heart. Gotta shake a tail feather on this. Great job.
I like this, but imho its unfinished.
You have subtle changes to be sure, but leaving it as is will require
the singer/songwriter to create the changes the music doesn't have.
If a good vocalist does that, then its possible your music may be overshadowed, and that would be a shame, since this is such a good piece.
If you're fine with that, then its all good. I hope you understand what
I'm trying to say (I think I may send you an example of what I mean).
Thanks for the feedback! I'd be interested to see an example.
I think that my preference for music, in general, tends to be songs in which the composition is simple while the vocalist carries the song. At the same time, I can see how the instrumental by itself doesn't sound complete, or more like a rough draft. It's a difficult balance for me to try to make sometimes. I do think that some more changes can help out a bit though.
Hi wikkid
Thank you for your beautiful compliment. I'm glad you like it.
If you would like to collaborate on writing a song or would like me to sing on one of your comps, please feel free to approach. I would love that.
I'm always open for new challenges and fresh ideas!
Masterful job! I love this. Sure, its cinematic, but it also put me in mind of a Dionne Warwick/Burt Bacharach and Hal David composition. Oh, and your ending? Loved it.
This deserves an Adele type vocal. I've listened to all your creations on looperman. You are a talented man. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hi wikkid! Thanks for listening all my tracks and excessive complement more than I deserve. I try to make strong identity with simple melody with modern key modulation and harmony which I'v learned from Jazz and Classics. Anyway, Adele is famous in Japan for her incredible wide voice range. Hope you enjoy! Sincerely.
I want to encourage you to keep on keeping on. Your profile lists you as 14, so you've got the time to learn.
I'd rather be helpful rather than trying to tear you down, because you're
new to this and at least you're trying. I also like the way you responded
to Modnex's suggestions. That attitude will serve you well as you continue to learn about creating music and rapping.
You tube videos can assist you with recording, just search under "mixing"
or "mastering" and even "microphones". Not sure what DAW you're using to record with, but one that's free if you're using a PC is Audacity. If you're on a MAC then Garageband will work.
Also, asking questions about recording in the forum section of Looperman will help you on your quest. With all sincerity, I wish you the best.
This has a great "throwback" vibe, but I have to agree with TrippyHippyCrew,
regarding a new beat. That's not to say I don't love this, I do.
Perhaps having the original beat in the beginning and then switching it up
might work. Still, this is a great homage to those times. Good job.
I wonder also, would you be agreeable to a re-mix? Perhaps by starting
a thread in the forum section, you can get an idea of what other producers
on Looperman could do with this? Just a thought.
This one has me kind of confused..a new beat..? original beat in the beginning and then switching it up ?...I'm lost on this one..Lol...but as always thx for listening.
Gotta agree with Danke. This is more cinematic than pop.
I listened to this several times, and I gotta say I LOVED IT.
You're one talented fella. Drumline meets cinematic, and my head bobbed the whole time. Loved the harp, and I always say, if you're gonna go big, go big or go home. You took a chance, and imho you hit a home run.
I can hear this on a movie soundtrack or even a commercial. I wouldn't list this as pop, but since hip-hop has influenced just about every genre, I can understand why you have put it there (I don't think there's a
category on Looperman for cinematic hip-hop).
Oh man!! Thank you so much for your kind words for this song!! I'm sorry for the late reply, a lot has been going on for me outside of Looperman and music making, but I really really am humbled by your words!! Thank you so much!! That really means a lot to me. I've experimented a lot with a bunch of loops from this site and was always too afraid to post anything out of fear of rejection or hate, but your words really help to encourage me to keep going with it. I'm so glad you loved it!! You're so awesome! Thank you!!
Maybe if you contact the singer or his management company, letting them
know you've done a re-mix you can work out something. Otherwise this may
just be in your music portfolio as a non-commercial work, since even
acapellas are the property of the artist (per looperman rules).
Is that Usher on the loop in the song? Just curious.
I. Love. This.
Y'all jammin' hard over in Dublin. This is a club hit though, anywhere.
and yeah, that drop is killer.
Great job.
I meant to add, a producer who comes to mind on here is Melodic dreamer.
He's good. VERY GOOD. There are a number of others on here who have talent,
you just have to search for them. But don't sleep on MD:
Loved the song, starting at 3:46 (yeah, I know its the more polished version).
If you're submitting this to a label (indie with connections or major label interested in you) go with the polished version. Please understand, the potential is there, and its possible the music (not your vocals) will be
arranged and handled by others with more experience.
If you're planning on releasing this yourself, then still go with the more
polished version, however there are musicians on Looperman who could help
you with mastering, etc. Just make SURE you have a copyright on your creation before file sharing, because this is business.
Lastly, as much as I like people who have humility, and its okay here on Looperman, belief in yourself is half the battle. Take the song out of
"weird" category. It's not. A sax solo? Uh, no. But that's just my humble opinion :). You're selling yourself. Your songwriting skills, your unique sound. Own that shit. Even if you don't think you know what you're doing, act like you do. Because if someone wants to sign you, they have to know
that they can re-coup their investment and that you can put butts in the
seats. Develop a second persona that you can switch to when its time for
business/and or performing.
Remember, there are kids coming up behind you that already have their own
home studios, have been performing and writing for years. These are my
unasked for suggestions.
Singing is subjective. It also depends on the era you come up in. Did you know that the late, great Nat King Cole didn't sing at first because he was told he couldn't? Thankfully, he did and the rest is history.
Now a days the uniqueness in your voice is an asset, so go for it. This uniqueness is your identifiable sound, which makes one artist stand out from another. An example is singer songwriter Lana Del Rey, whose found a loyal fan base. So my vote is for you to finish this. Plus the more you sing, the more confidence you'll gain.
Please remember something, some people will tell someone they can't sing simply because they want to mess with their head. You are among seasoned musicians and singers on Looperman. Belief in yourself goes a long way, even if the advice you get is negative.
I was hooked at :28 seconds, when the staccato bass kicked in. You did a good job making all the instruments work within the rhythm.
My only suggestion would be instead of the second guitar, some chords to fill out the melody, but that's just my preference. It's still a good tune. My best to you.
Thanks wikkid. I haven't replied to your comment because I hear what you are saying. I've been ruminating over your comment for a while now and I bought Shreddage II and Odesi to help me with chords, but I still have a lot to learn about melodies and chords and how to get better sounds out of Shreddage until I can actually make this track better rather than making it worse. Actually upon reading this I figured out something else. You're suggesting taking the first guitar and have it play both melody and some chords instead of a second guitar doing the chords correct? Or are you referring to getting rid of the third guitar that plays really fast notes?
I keep spelling your name MindHEIST for some reason. Anyway, yes, I thought about aliens while listening to this. Very spooky beginning. It's like when the space explorers they've stumbled upon a nest of some sort and the camera pans to each of their shocked expressions before they realize its time to get outta there. Of course, a couple don't make it out, which is part of the fun. 1:44 is when they're running madly, trying to escape. 2:19 is every man and woman for themselves. 2:44 is the skeleton crew back at the ship screaming about get out of there 'cause we're taking off. All hell breaks loose at 3:29 as more crew members are devoured by the aliens. 4:12 a lone survivor emerges, running toward the ship.
The crew looks on in utter horror at the creature chasing their comrade. Do they leave her/him? Stay tuned.
that is because HEIst is the correct spelling. I had to spell it wrong because there were too many mindheists out there. thank you for the visuals. it was almost like promethesis(spell). looked for a video like that found a non alien video that was good. thank you.
Good job. If you don't already know the song "Jam on It" by Newcleus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpxaaM6wkZw
something about the beginning of your tune reminded me of that classic hit.
Again, you've done a very good job on this. My best to you.
Great job.
Killer "hook" that compliments your stellar vocals.
What's missing? I didn't hear a definitive bass line, and imho a song like
this needs one (nothing showy, just something to bottom this out). I also agree with VirginiaSlimm on supporting vocals. They need to swell with you at the 1:30 mark of the song. I'd suggest "ghost" vocals, almost in a whispery, far off sounding way, and in a slightly different melody than what you are lead singing on the chorus/hook. Again, nothing overbearing, just in and out at certain points in the tune.
You may want to check out a prolific drummer on here by the name of laurentwirz. I think he may have something to fit this song. Link to his drum loops page: https://www.looperman.com/users/loops/2054129
Your guitar solo is another fave for me, but especially the melancholy cello? Viola?
This is stream worthy music, and I fully expect to see you snagging awards sometime in the future.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try adding those and defining the bass line better as well. I used a bass but I found some clash between the background synth and the bass notes so i probably turned down my bass too much! A better EQ on it would probably help too!
And the Ghost vocals I can definitely do. I'm planning on revamping the entire vocals now that I have a better understanding of the direction of the track.
You're something special, and I wonder if you know it. Quirky? Yes. But super talented. Loved the lyrics. Loved your vocals, because the raw honesty shone thru. This is the path, and may you stay on it because its a rare thing to find your "sound" so clearly that it becomes instantly recognizable over all the other artists out there. I hope you've got a copyright on this. Bravo.
