on Back 2 tha Roots by kingmadi
Hi Kingmadi,

I don't blame you for being excited, as these as some of the songs I danced to in my youth. Cameo crossed over with "Word Up" and "She's Strange", but they were big in the black community long before they crossed over. That being said, you've used a number of very recognizable samples. I'm going to go with guessing that you've already got copyright clearance on these.

If so, I wish you all the best.

on Shelestial ft MrShammi - All You Need Is Love by Shelestial
Hi Shelestial,

You did a great job on this! Love the beat and backing music. Everything
works so well together, this could easily be on a music streaming service.
Mr.Shammi's wonderful vocals and Djmzike's equally arresting chant seem like they're made to be together. You've got a good ear, and this is a great example of using the talent on Looperman to come up with a fantastic song.
My best to you.

on Wasteland by srob1234
Hi srob1234,

I like this, and I think your vocals are the strongest part. They're so good that I'd suggest turning them up a bit so the lyrics can be clearly heard. You've got a good voice, and the melody compliments the track. Overall this is a great addition to your creative portfolio.

on Foulds - Come Alive - Remix by MrSpookd
Here's info on the singer whose name is Thomas Daniel (not Foulds, I think he is the songwriter or the producer)

https://soundcloud.com/thomasdanielmusic

Thomas is also on FACEBOOK and he has his own website:

Good job on the music!

Thanks for the feedback and the information. I found the acappella here on Looperman named "Foulds - Come Alive" by this guy named Fouldsmusic, so that's why I thought he was the singer too :P I will change the description, thanks again.

Wow. Just . . . wow.
I just closed my eyes and simply listened. Very compelling and powerful. There's a lot of heart in this, and your talent positively shines. I agree with the other posters, this is a great way to begin the New Year. One of my favs on Looperman.

on Lost Dreams Piano Rap beat by Gipish
Hi Gipish,

This is a beautiful, moving piece of music. Well done.
I agree with poster WongKisho, who suggested some strings (but not too much! The piano is lovely, just lovely).

I'm hearing an Adele type big voiced singer, though a delicate soprano would also work. If I come up with anything, I will send it to you (I'm not a fast songwriter though. I obsess over lyrics to match the piece, though the vocal melody comes quicker).

Very nice way to start the New Year. Thank you for sharing this.

on UK RnB Track v8 by EricMilligan
Hi Eric,

I think you should do the vocals.
Your voice has a unique quality about it. It's distinctive, and that's half the battle when singing. In addition, you've got range, and while many singers struggle to go into a falsetto, you appear to slide into yours fairly well. I can also hear emotion in this, something that always helps when singing.

Don't sell yourself short. Having a voice that's different than what's out there can be a blessing. Humility can also be a good thing, but you DO have a decent voice, you just have to keep on singing.

I like the song, and can tell what you're trying to do. When I listen to a song, I tend to isolate everything. I like your initial vocal melody, and I can hear the chorus or hook forming. I agree with the poster igorsamanski, "who cares if you're not Adelle? The beat and the melody are great."

You've got an interesting foundation started here. Now all you have to do it build on it. I hope once you get the lyrics, that you'll update this. My best to you.

Hi, Wikkid. thanks for the feedback. I'm VERY surprised at the encouragement I've been getting to make the vocals better. That certainly wasn't my intent or expectation when I posted the track. I keep thinking about some of those really embarrassing moments on American Idol auditions who clearly thought they were great when they were, well, "not". Watching those episodes made me realize that people sometimes just don't hear how they actually sound when they are singing. it's a strange phenomenon. Watched the movie, Florence Foster Jenkins, last week and it was the same thing. Meryl Streep was fantastic in the role (as usual), but oh my god - the singing. Same situation. I really don't want to think that I'm afflicted by the same thing. That said, I am going to try to work out some lyrics and if I get something worthwhile, I think I will try the vocals again. The one I posted was actually just sung into my iPhone in one take. I do have a decent mic and I do know how to comp vocals, so I should be able to improve things.

on WIWL2 by austinmusic
I'm one of your biggest fans on here, so yeah, I liked it.
What I really like is that you are working on putting music to your own tracks, and that will serve you well in the long run.

Your vocals put me in mind of Chris Daughtry's "I'm coming home" but without the big chorus. But even without a big chorus, your voice is golden. Like a number of other vocalists on Looperman (Patricia and Farisha are two other golden voiced singers on here imho) Plus the potential is there for even bigger and better things. If you sound like this singing laid back, I only imagine what you can do with the right producer, and going full out.

Have you ever thought about trying out for The Voice? Hell, I'd vote a thousand times for you. But in any event, keep up the good work. All this will amount to something. Believe it.

on Not Done Yet - Instrumental - Vocal Ready by BradoSanz
Sorry, I guess a link to the track would help. This was a quick mixdown and in hindsight I'd probably raise the volume up, but at least you get an idea of why I thought a collab with you two would work:

Wonderful, just wonderful Brado.

I'm hearing something here and I hope you'll humor me, but I'm asking your permission to transpose this and sync it with austinmusic's acapella "What it was like."

I'm thinking it could work.

YAHTZEE! it did work :) it took a bit of tweaking of his vocals tempo wise, and a key change to G, but its killer!

on Magic Fingaz by skwishfish
Hello skwishfish84,

I love it, especially all the changes you've put in.
Very intricate and compelling, as I had to rewind this to listen for each little nuance. I especially love the breath? that comes in, making me think someone is about to sing.

After reading what you went through with your old computer dying, you've come back strong with Logic Pro X.

Funky electronica . . . Go on wit cha bad self!

on What Went Down by austinmusic
Austinmusic,

You've got a great voice.

It's distinctive, emotional, and best of all, it's in tune most of time without a load of vocal enhancements. Writing your own songs is a big plus. Personally, I'd like to hear you do country or EDM. In short, you are one talented guy.

That's not to say Looperman doesn't have a wealth of talented artists on here, however a good singer can showcase a good musician/song writer/producer's work in the best possible light.

Just a suggestion, but you may want to create a forum thread to see if you can get a producer on here to collab with you.

Based on the music you're doing so far, I'd suggest giving a listen to loops by Minor2go, Rasputin1963, Joseph Funk (he has complete tracks that are killer) among others.

I'm curious to know what your vocal range is.

Thanks in advance, as I may send some songs your way once I get my music site up.

on Rise Up feat Samuka by Bindanox
I really enjoyed this. Samuel(Samuka)has a great voice, so imho the music should've been lower where he sang the main lyrics. You can bring up the music on the parts where he's riffing, or not singing. I concur that this was well done.

on Hickey by AxelStPatience
I hope you've recorded your vocals and keyboard on separate tracks, because your vocals are killer!

Just a suggestion. I'd love to hear how a Looperman producer would take your vocals and use them for a house/deep house track. You may want to upload a few acapellas or upload acapellas of some of the songs you have here.

Check out what some producers have done with Farisha's acapellas.

Songwriting isn't easy, but the sooner you start, the better you become over time, so be patient. I commend you for putting your work on here, but the strength of this track imho are your vocals. I agree with Wobbin, your voice is beautiful. It's the tone that's arresting and its quite distinct. These days what you've got is a big plus.

Now its time to pair your gift with the right backing music so that you can really shine.

Hi SoleilxLune,

This is a fav of mine also. Great track. I've been searching for music for a book trailer of mine. It's not about a virus that kills off women, but an actual war between man and woman. You can read an excerpt here:

Well, if you use this song for your book trailer, please, don't forget credits. It would be sad for me if you take away my effort.
Thanks again!
