Wow, I thought I was listening to Blink 182 or Good Charlotte. Good job.

Ah, this takes me back to my 80s break beat records.
Great job.
I think another poster said your music would be good on a commercial. One that comes to mind is Kid Ink's "The Movement" that's currently being used for Acura: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VivI2RfiT-8
This is soooooo hard. The track is put together really well, and I love all the synth lines. But that bass! If you're saying the bass guitar was by someone named Ash, then I gotta vote for the bass. It's the foundation for the song and its killer, especially in the beginning and the end.
Much as I like keyboards . . . a good bass line gets me up and dancing.
My vote is for the bass.
Ow ... thanks ... I dunno what you mean, the bassline or the starting guitar ?!
If you mean startin guitar so thats ash ...
And if you mean the basslines thats me ...
One way to land a producer on here is to make a thread in the FORUM section. Make sure you link to this track if you want your rap mixed to this.
But, if I may offer some advice, I'd say check out the tracks on here (don't skip over the EDM producers on here, many of them are very good at mixing).
Maybe take a little time to get to know musicians on here. Some people only work on their own music, while others are fine with collaborating. Once you know who you'd like to work with, email them directly or put a comment in their thread on a track they have.
I'd also like to add, you may land a producer faster if you have something to offer them in exchange, like perhaps a loop, a track or vocals or a rap. This is business after all. And in that respect, copyright your creation (rap and/or music). Protect yourself and your work.
Hey! that's "Walking in the Rain with the One I Love" by Love Unlimited.
Used to do a cover of it on the bass and sing it back in the day, cause the bass line at the end is killer.
A bit of Trivia: That's Barry White at the end of the song speaking on the phone to his future wife, the lead singer of Love Unlimited.
Enjoyed the tone of your voice on your rap. I wish you all the best.
And that baby. SO CUTE. Look at that widdle cute face and those chubby cheeks. Just beautiful. Sigh.
Nu Jazz would have been called Jazz Fusion back in the day. Many of the R&B groups had a background in Jazz before having funk music hits in the US. Groups like Kool and the Gang, Lakeside, Mandrill, The Commodores and others had a mixture of guys who studied music in college and others who played by ear.
It's kind of ironic that I'm working on 60s music featuring big voiced UK singers (Celia Black, Shirley Bassey, Lulu) and you're channeling some of the hottest throwback USA funk around.
Thanks again Wikkid...yeah, he is cute 'aint he :))
My grandson, age 4 now. Leon Hendrix Wild, how cool is
that name :))
I still think it's more groovy than funky. But that's probably got more to do with the way I dance than anything else :)) But I do like the tag 'Nu Jazz'. It makes it sound like I know what I'm doing. A bit more sophisticated than 'urban groove' I think :))
It is ironic that you're working on 60's music. As that is exactly what I'm doing. I'm working with a vocalist on
something in a Small Faces stylee. Oh...and don't forget to add Dusty Springfield to that list of yours. Maybe not a 'big voiced' UK singer, but the BEST around at the time.
I'm curious. Did you mean to go this far back? Cause this put me in mind of the stuff I used to cover back in the 70s (Herbie Hancock, Mandrill) I've got a few Young-Holt Unlimited LP's with this type of extended groove.
You really captured the feel of that era. I dunno if I'd call this strickly electronic. Maybe Nu jazz? I hope others chime in.
Hi, Thanks for your kind words, and for taking the time to listen and comment on my work. Much appreciated.
Yeah...I'm not sure about it being 'Electronic' either. But there wasn't a category available, in that drop down menu, that described what I thought it was. I call it urban groove, but I think I prefer Nu Jazz....is there such a genre. I've got something similar that I might post next, that is very similar, but more jazzy...I think. I've only just joined this place, so I'm just feeling my way around atm. Still not sure what is the best way/place to post my work to get the best exposure.
So any advice would be most welcome.
I agree that it needs that 'updated' tweak. I'm hoping to get a vocalist/lyricist interested, so I've left plenty of room, and just left it as verse/chorus, hoping that the lyrics/vocal will lead to, or suggest, where some sort of breakdown should be. Then there's mixing and production, so loads of time yet for that tweak....
Anyway, Thank you again for your encouraging words. You are very kind. I hope something really nice happens to you today...
Yeah, this is funk-a-fied. Gotta listen a few more times. Good job. I'm hearing Bill Withers and yes, I agree with Indieground's David Byrne influence.
But dang, this is full of old skol touches. Sliding bass line, wah wah guitar, clavinet? sounds, Okay, this needs Norman Whitfield, STargaard (Which Way is Up whoa whoa whoa Owww) type harmonies.
But its still gotta have that updated touch. Hmmm. LEmme think.
Another fave. I heard this on your Looperman page.
So, who's doing the vocals or is that a sample?
Good voice. If it's you, don't be scared. Sing some more.
Having internet issues, so I may have to come back for a more detailed comment if this one doesn't post.
Love this track, and I agree with Danke. A shadowed voice is needed. You've got too much good stuff happening here for it to be smothered by the wrong vocals. Background singing is not a downgrade, but another ingredient for a creative composition.
I love it.
It's not too much, its not overdone. It's throwback with a lot of little hip-hop flourishes that made me listen, got my shoulders bobbing, and made me smile. Sometimes nuance is a good thing. Loved the scifi synth, used sparingly but effective. You settled into a groove in the middle of the song and didn't let up.
Excellent job.
What bright, bubbly creation!
I see what you did and I really like it. It's so catchy (and crafty) that before you know it, there's a head bob and shoulder action.
Made me think of Malibu Barbie getting trapped in a PAC Man video game, and I mean that in a good way, coming from an old soul who has dabbled in just about every musical genre there is. Wanna feel like a kid again? Well this is neon Tokyo at night, party time for adults only in KabukichÅ.
You set a goal and succeeded. Gonna make this a fave, since its a great pick me up instrumental.
My creative process is very conceptual. I pick a concept and sometimes I get something that I am proud of :)
I absolutely love people describing what they imagine when they listen to something I made. I always listen to the song afterwards and see the image in my mind that people described. I am glad that you enjoyed my song and that you even favorited it! You understood what I tried to tell with the song.
I loved it.
Could def hear this on the streaming services. This is more my taste, since I can hear a a collaboration of genres. Strongest of which would be 90s R&B infused Jazz, dusted off for a modern, mellow feel. Would really like to hear the finished product. As it is, I'm putting it down as a fave. Really feeling the keyboard runs, bass and beat.
Gonna check out all your previous works on here. You're one to watch.
Thanks wikkid, yeah ill stick it up on tunecore and get it out on streaming services if people seem to like it.
"Gonna check out all your previous works on here"
thank you! mostly use looperman to upload and get feedback on unfinished works. if you check my soundcloud there's more finished stuff there. Although sometimes i update the songs when they are done here
Glad you liked the song and thanks for the comment! :)
You killed it.
I luv, luv luv how well the bassline, the beat and the vocal samples work with each other. This is an excellent example of the beauty of simplicity (but really, it's not that simple, otherwise everyone could do it). Kinda rough at 1:09 with the drop out, but you've stated that this is a work in progress and with everything up to that point gelling so well, this is a winner. I second Xmachine's wish to hear the final result.
Just in time for summer, this is definitely a party song!
It takes skill, a very good ear and loving patience to put a number of loops together into a kick ass song like this. Great job. I'm hearing harmonics and a lot of slides up and down the fret to set this off (bass player here)
Made this a fave of mine, because yes, I still love rock also.
Hi wikkid
thank you much much for checking this out and
leaving these kind words in my box .
it was very good if you could add bass line to it .
I'll be glad if you have any suggestion about drum line .
thank you much much for your fave too .
by the way ,you presented me a very good drum player in looperman whose loops has been used in this track .
thank you for that too .
many many thanks to you .

Lovely, powerful vocals. I agree with the description. This shows what seasoned musicians can come up with. Looperman has a wonderful bounty of talent, and it's been a pleasure listening to this timeless composition.
This had me dancing and thinking up a lead melody and lyrics. I made it
a fav of mine, and I'm definitely going to check out your other tunes. I do have to agree with Citizenmofo's comment, since I'm biased about more bass:)
Your intro had me thinking this would lean more electronic or even veer into trance. Lovely turn of events there. Ultimately, you fused everything together quite well at the end. Loved the bottom and the layering, I only wish it was a little longer, but still, it was short and sweet.
Great job. Virtual hand clap.
Thanks wikkid! The intro does sound like it was leading into a whole different genre. I guess that makes it more surprising and interesting when that bass comes in :) . I agree about the length of the track, I think I should have made it longer too. If I get a chance, I might try to. I'm just not too sure what I would add if I did so.
Sorry, I forgot to add that contest threads are usually put in the Forum section of Looperman. That way you can put in the terms of the contest and the deadline, should you decide to do so.
I really like this.
If I may make a suggestion, why not have a contest to find a vocalist/songwriter for this tune?
Contests tend to bring out the members on Looperman. That way you can go through the entries to find the one that best matches your vision for this song.
I'll be honest with you.
It's your voice that I really dig on this song. I did enjoy the music, its just that your voice is what elevated the tune for me.
Your falsetto is killer, dude. Over here in America, what you've got is what a lot of R&B and hip-hop singers pray for. Good job!
Wow!
You've come back with a vengeance. I love this, and I agree with Melodic Dreamer and Danke.
I like the honesty in this song, and of course your vocals are on point. Dude, face it. You've got a God given talent. Your voice is like buttah, and now you've added some serious songwriting and production skills on top of that? Plu-lease. Go on wit cha bad self.
Well thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I've never been confident as a producer, but I'm trying to just trust myself a little bit more with it.
