This is fire as f*ck my boy lol, I get strong tool vibes from this especially in the intro sections. I dont know if you consider that a compliment or not xD that bassline and riffing is sick and fits the rhythms you chose well. Well done.
Dusty, how ya doin?
First, thank you. I'm glad you liked it. It's a little different from most of my stuff.
It's funny you mentioned Tool, (it is a compliment, btw.), I've always liked them, but I never thought, "I want to sound like that." It just kind of happened. I suppose after 30 something years of listening to a band, it's going to filter in at some point, huh?
Thanks again, man. I truly appreciate it!
Take care.

Oh man this is awesome. Tapping on my phone so tedious to write anything substantial. It's exactly as your describe it, only much better. That bass is fantastic, guitars incredible. A most excellent composition. Tumeke bro. Cheers Zoot.
Hi Aaron my friend...I hear you're still in excellent form..:) Impossible to overlook your trademark style. Powerful piece of metal as always...keep 'em coming !:)
Leon, hello! I was pleasantly surprised to see you had stopped by this morning. It has been awhile. Thank you for listening. I know it's not your preferred genre, so it means just a little extra when you do.
Good to see you, my friend.
Aaron
I couldn't help but continue with a few more comments on this bro. You know how we always liked to dig deeper into the recording sides of these things. Is this a combined live and virtual guitar? You killed it with the drums and bass here and I was really happy to hear the synth even though it was sparse. This really charged me up bro, so stoked to see another track from you. The older stuff is/was great but there is definite polish here man. Whatever sauce you applied, its tangy, and I dig it! Who knows you just might have inspired ol' Neo to dust off the cob webs! Stay tuned.
Fuckin' do it man!! I would LOVE to hear some new Neomorphus here! That and these new kids need a taste of what made this site what it is!
I'm happy to hear that the drums and bass were good. Those were always parts I had trouble getting more creative with. Especially the drums. The bass does have the "One of These Days" sound to it. It wasn't intentional, but when Pink Floyd is sustenance beyond music, that's gonna happen.
The guitar is all Shreddage 2 & 3. The bass is NI's Rickenbacker. Our Mr. Cunningham once said, years ago, in a comment somewhere that VST gutiars are good for accents, or back up, but they can't be used as the main instrument. To a degree, he's absolutely correct. But, none the less, I took that as a challenge! That, and my Warlock has some wiring issues that leave it unplayable at the moment.
Thank you for listening, man. I always greatly appreciate your opinion and feedback.
Take care, brother.

I have to say this came as quite a nice surprise on an otherwise boring Sunday afternoon. Honestly I have had recent thoughts of the time when we were among the current group of music makers here. And the thought did cross my mind if the ValveDriver might still have inclinations to pour out a little more of his soul for us. I'm happy to now know the answer.
This track put a smile on my face quickly with just those first few notes sounding a tad similar to Pink Floyds "One of These Days" from the Meddle album. Of course this track takes a distinctly different path. It became immediately apparent that the bass line was going to play an important role and here again Pink Floyd-esque. This build up section is not only notable but so very integral to the overall track. Such tasty heavy rhythm ensues as it progresses into the groove, you've really polished your chops and changeups. Love the wah usage! Not enough space here but, Thx Aaron, U made my day bro!
I love the rhythm wow!!! I love the guitar.
Yess i like this style.
1 time i didd make something like this om magig music maker before i start on Lm.
It is a cool track but it where loops so i cant be proud on it.
You can be proud!!!
Im on my phone so i cant see the minutes.
But that guitar in the end is so cool.
Intro and outro also.
Good work Aaron.
Thank you, Rita! I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. I'm glad you liked it!
That's the cool thing about FL studio, you can easily make your own loops, and then use them as needed, or tweak them individually. By the time I'm done with one of these metal songs, my playlist looks like somebody had a confetti party all over it with all the little notes, and drum hits, and this-n-thats in the loops.
Thank you again, Rita.
Take care.
Aaron
Aaron its refreshing to hear something different, metal is under represented on here, it was never my thing growing up, i appreciate it more now, the guitar riffs the basslines great musicians, this has big sound and was a great listen with plenty of change ups to keep the interest, great vibe too im zoned out
Metal is under represented on here. I agree completely. I started listening to metal in sometime around 1985. Back when it was still in it's infancy. Everyone always said, "you'll grow out of it." The joke's on them! Here it is almost 40 years later and I still love it just as much as day one!
I'm glad you liked the song even though it's not exactly your preferred genre. Thanks for taking the time to listen to it, brother. As always, I appreciate the comment as well.
Woo hoo - killer of a track - great metal composition, love those guitars and very cool spoken word. Resonating with me after its stopped which is always a sign to me that the artist has got it right
I hear Ministry and even some early Nine Inch nails here in places. But overall, Its its own thing. Certainly isnt alot like it, at least not mainstream. Ill make my way through your work slowly but surely. It has definitely made an impression on me. The breakdown + drop was awesome. Love this one. - Aaron
Aaron, how ya doin'?
It' interesting that you hear Ministry and NIN. I had no intentions of giving this an industrial sound. But, now that I go back and listen to it again, I can hear it too. I guess it's inevitable that my influences are going to show up whether I mean to or not. Not so much NIN, I wasn't ever really a fan of Reznor, but Ministry...for sure. One of my all time favorites.
I'm honored that my work has had an impact on you. That's always good to hear.
While you're working your way through my work, just be ready for a wide variety of sounds. All of which tending to lean on the darker side, but a total wide spectrum of...we'll call them Genres.
Anyhow, I'm glad you're diggin' it, man. That means a lot.
Holee shyt....this is awesome. My musical journey began as the guitarist in a garage metal band when I was 16 years old, and even though most of my work these days is completely different, i still wear those influences. Ive had a side project in mind involving Industrial Metal recently, and this makes me want to dive right into that and get it going. I havent heard anything like this in years, this is excellent work.
Thanks, man. I'm glad you liked it.
I say do it. Dive in and do the shit out of it, brother. Bring your side project to the forefront and knock that fucker out of the park! Uncle Al didn't pioneer the way for side projects. But, you know, only if you want to. But, if you do, I want to hear it.
That's all for now. Take care, man.

This sounds really cool, and with the back story, it gives the elements you've chosen more context. I like that you have the peaceful nature sounds for the softer parts. It sparked an idea of adding storm and wind nature affects along the harder parts of the song
I'm glad you liked the tune. The PNW, man. Home truly is where the heart is, ya know?
As far as the storm and wind for the harder sections, I actually did try it in a couple spots. But with the distortion of the guitars and all the drums, it was just extra noise that crowded up the mix, so I opted to leave it out. Trust me, it's much better this way.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen and comment. I appreciate it.
Take care.

Hello ValveDriver
I do not know how exactly I will write about your music, and that is because I do not often listen to this genre. It surely is of dystopian character, very cinematic to my ears and of course extremely intense. Clear sound and vocals that satisfy the listener through out the song.
AI is already in our lives. I only wish it stays an excellent help in our hands. Going beyond this will drive us to such a bad situation as this you describe with your notes.
I wish you the best, Anthony
Anthony, thank you for taking the time.
I'm glad you enjoyed this even though it's not your genre of preference. That means a lot to me.
AI is in fact already in our lives. For the most part, from what I've seen, it's been for a useful and helpful cause. But knowing how mankind works, I fear it's only a matter of time until it's used for the wrong reasons.
Got major dark and gritty vibes immediately from this tune, definitely sets the stage with your backstory! What did you use to create the sounds? Love the metallic energy and the crazy energy this track gives off, very good work!
I'm glad you liked this one, and thank you for taking the time to listen AND comment.
As far as the sounds and their creation, I'll go in chronological order of what you hear in the song. Mainly because I'm not sure if you had any sound specifically in mind. I figure I'll cover them all.
In the intro:
The metallic hit- A hammer and anvil that I've used in several songs since 2012.
The bouncy synth: Serum
The droning synth: Serum with loads of reverb.
The woman: a download I got from Freesound.org.
The body:
The crowd chants, and Easy way/Hard way lady- My recordings from the Portland riots a couple years ago.
Then, the hammer and anvil again here and there.
I think that covers everything that's not the guitars and drums. I hope that answers your question.
old track before my time here Aaron, wow an industrial growler nibbles your ankles and knees, dark vibes, you drop to the floor and it bites your face off, great synth work, industrial sounds are so cool, i can feel the heat from your molten metal V
Yeah, this is an older one. I felt like bringing it back from the dead for a minute. It's definitely a hard hitting one. Thanks for giving it a listen, and for commenting. Much appreciation.
err wow. Never expected that, I know nothing of the genre but that was no put off. The synth modulation is awesome, it sounds like syllables (which I assume is well skilled intention) and like you say is no DS nore D&B. The break was sublime, so well done
Thank you. It's not really technically industrial, but that was the closest genre to chose from. The vocal sounding synths were intentional. A little fun with oscillator manipulation. Something I actually enjoy more than making the tunes themselves.
