Thanks for listening, even though it's not your preferred genre. I appreciate that.
I'm sure ol' boy is chilling somewhere. He's never been one to stay in one place. He's like an Alley Cat. He comes and goes as he pleases and he only wants attention on his own terms. But, we all love him anyhow.
This is a pearl...doomish but pearl too...the description is a bit sad but to tell you the truth more and more people live alone on earth ... neither their dogs nor their cats, well even their families ... maybe alienation is one of our biggest enemies besides computers and smartphones ... or maybe that's why ... this music is very painful cause somehow i feel like you won't have any more contact with your friend ...
serious synthesizer song ... in the beginning the Depeche Mode popped in but in the end it became more of a song from a doom metal band, from where the guitarist went for a beer ... :-)
putting aside the joke, it became a very cathartic, difficult, thought-provoking song ...just like ValveDriver on his best...hope all is well in the second wavee of pandemic Aaron...take care...
It's been awhile since you've commented on one of my tracks. I was super happy to see that you had. Thank you!
All is well here. After being here for 30 years, we're about to move back to our home state to start a whole new chapter of our lives. One that displays far more potential than staying here. We're looking forward to it.
This song really is about alienation, or at least facing life alone, by your own rules that don't conform to what society says it has to be. Which, really, explains why it's like the old Valvedriver style. That was always my message. "Do it your way, screw what they tell you, it's your life" That's exactly how my friend lives, and I respect that greatly.
Danke, you take care my brother. I hope all is well with you as well during this odd time we live in.
amazing track bro......really feels like a missing person track like you said....from start to finish....when he returns god willing you will have this masterpiece to show him....peace
Thanks, man. I'm glad you liked this one. There was something about the main synth when I was making it that just reminded me of him. Probably the tense journey feel like Wayne mentioned, and how he was always on the move. Even when he was just sitting there.
One of my fraternity brothers disappeared one day back in the 80's. It was after he had left school and was married with kids. We searched the woods in his town for him and no trace of him was ever found to this day. Strange how that shit happens.
The song has a lot of tension and texture with the main synths that you used. I like the bell ring of the ride cymbal and the almost subdued drums, they sit well in the mix to my ears. The track gives me that sense of a journey and not an easy one by the sounds of it. Nice job!
It is strange. Even in people that are known to take off for awhile without saying anything. It's that one time when they just don't come back and you're left always wondering.
As far as the song, A tense journey is exactly what I had in mind. I just kind of imagined his life and his personality and what he may have been facing. I imagine that what he sees in this world is nothing but another obstacle to overcome. As loving as he is, his instinctual drive for independence is beyond that of any human I've ever met.
There are a few things that still need some tweaking in here. I'm not 100% on the piano part. But, it'll do for now. Once I can get back to it, I will.
Thanks for stopping by, mister. It's always appreciated.
Stunning song, really good. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, that sucks, hugs.
As for what hut says, yes, half the time I find I'm logged out when I want to comment. Don't be too suspicious!
Love it bro. Love the mix, very open, wide and clean. I would bring up the kick a little big more and give it some punch as well as the drums. Kick and snare are usually prominent in dubstep. None the less very very good!!
If I ever get around to searching a couple different storage drives to see if I still have this file backed up somewhere, I'll play around with the levels. But, until then, I've written this one off as a loss. The laptop that I created this one on took the proverbial shit and died. Along with it, this songs original file. But, I totally agree with what you mentioned, and if I could have, I already would have fixed it. But...such is life.
Either way, I appreciate the suggestion. Not enough people around here throw helpful critiques anymore. That's how we improve, right?
What a cool trip I just went on. So much to absorb but it was fun. Quite a composition actually. Lots of textural elements and darker sounds and effects to get the listener to get sucked right into this track and be emotionally affected.
Great job telling a story too. Whether the song has lyrics or not, the composer still has to tell the lister what they are trying to convey. You've done that here, absolutely. Lots of good feedback as I read thru the comments, well deserved.
But when you come out of the metal closet, you have to kick your way out. You can't just turn the knob and slip out. You have to kick that thing, and come out screaming, "I am Fookin' metal! Hear..my...wrath!!"
True story, bro. That's how it's done.
Thanks for stopping by and giving a listen and a comment. I appreciate. it.
THIS IS SO GOOD MAN...IT DESERVES TO BE PLAYED LIVE...YOUR GONNA NEED TO FIND SOME SERIOUS TALENT TOO PLAY IT THOUGH....I REALLY STRUGGLE TRYIN TO MAKE HEAVY MUSIC ON COMPUTER...YOU ON THE OTHER HAND HAVE MASTERED IT...IM HEARING YOUR EVOLUTION THROUGH YOUR TRACKS BTW AND LOVE THE DIRECTION YOUR GOIN IN NOW...BUT IM SURE YOU WILL HAVE SOME MORE HEAVY METAL TRACKS CREEPING AROUND WAITING TO COME OUT OF THE WALLS
Thanks, man. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to some older work. I really like this one too.
As far as the direction I'm going, it's actually backwards. What I'm doing now is more like what I started with. These metal tunes are the offshoot. Even though I live, eat, and breathe metal since 1984, I still really enjoy making the electronic work.
I will have more metal to come, but until I can get a new laptop that can handle it, it had to be put on hold.
Thanks again, man. I truly appreciate it.
Take care.

THIS TRACK JUST HAMMERS HOME HOW ORIGINAL YOU ARE....YOUR PROGRAMMING OF THE GUITAR IS JUST INTENSE N SO GOOD I HAD TO CHECK IF IT WAS REAL OR NOT...IM SURE YOU PUT A LOT OF TIME INTO IT AND THE END RESULT IS MAGIC....CANT SAY I HAVE DONE TOO MUCH CAMPING N CERTAINLY NOT ALONE....BUT IF THIS IS HOW YOU DESCRIBE IT THROUGH YOUR MUSIC IT MUST BE VERY GRATIFYING.....NO SEX BOTS HERE...LOL....PEACE
There was once a great guitarist that was on Looperman quite frequently. I once saw him comment in a forum post that a guitar VST was good for backing tracks or simple effects, but could never be good enough to make a complete track.
Even with the tremendous amount of respect that I have for this man, I took that as a personal challenge. So, I set out to make a few tracks that you couldn't really tell if it was live, or VST. I like to think I came close enough with this one and the "Overmyth" series.
Ok I am glad I clicked on this one. Awesome gothic groove with a sprinkling of oldstyle sheffield uk elecronica and then the D&B kicks in and smacks the industrial right out of your soul and you also managed to incorporate a dub step feel as well. super creative my friend, I am very impressed with this tune. there is so much good going on in this, hats off to you you should be very proud of this one mate! 2:15 was a nice segue. 3:14 is just pure insanity in a good way! And a nice cheeky circus ending you bastard. You do have a sense of humour ehh? Loved it faved it.

Well, thank you sir! This is some high praise. I appreciate it.
I'm not entirely familiar with the Sheffield scene, so I'm not sure which part reminds you of it. But, if there was an entire movement that my music sounds like, then I must be doing something right, huh?
I do have a sense of humor, and I'm not afraid to use it! Which got me thinking...I should put out an entirely bullshit song that's clearly a joke. Just for the fun of doing it.
Pretty freaky stuff here bro. The bass lines in here are all Killer. The effects, transitions, breakdowns, tempo changes are very well done and the carnival bit is a perfect twisted element. Another extremely well produced and very fun track.
I got separated from my parents at a circus when I was little and luckily my mom saw me as I was wandering behind the Freakshow tent ! I could have ended up a carny or traumatized for life !
I'm smiling man, and when I do it's because something is just crazy good. But this, this is wicked good, so good you can't see my face, only my glistening teeth if that makes any sense lol..The title is a clever fit to the track. One of the most creative approach to dubstep, not just any dubstep, it's ValveDriverStep. Stellar production mate, you got 4 thumbs up from me ( that's including my thumb toes also lol). Thank you for sharing brother. Faved.
A FUN RIDE AND ANOTHER FAT MIX.....WHEN THE BEAT CAME IN ...I WAS LIKE ...HOW DID U THINK OF THAT.....VALVEDRIVER DELIVERS THE GOODS.....LOVE THE NAME TOO...N THAT LOGO ...TOO COOL....
