This actually made me smile. Highly interesting minimal composition not what one typically hears on looperman. Great work.

on THERE IS A RIVER by CitizenMofo2
Hi citizen,

You are an awesome writer?...I also sometimes use metaphors when I write my songs, your lyrics are just brilliant! seriously, this is so deep and relevant. The children are the future, we have to protect them, especially in the world we are living in, they learn by example, so we have to be upright. I love your metaphors, like I said they are deep and absolutely captured the feeling in the song, this is truly unique and compelling. One thing I like is when people create and think outside of the box, especially with regards to music...GREAT! work and thank you for your support on my songs, keep bringing us something with real meaning and substance.

Faved.

Thank you, Miss Sweetcherries. I appreciate you very much. As it happens, I make a living as a writer, though not as a songwriter. I love to write songs because you can do anything and go anywhere in three minutes. There's tremendous power and beauty available in a tiny space. My family is my everything so I especially love to write songs about them.
As for you, well, I've listened to all 10 of your songs now. And of course one can't comment - except here. First, I must say that your apartment is even noisier than mine. Then I must say, your voice is magic. Your instrument is a Stradivarius and you know how to play it. I mean, seriously. I just hope you're a millionaire because you deserve to be if talent and passion are rewarded in this world. I would love to make some songs with you someday, so consider me stepping up to the end of what is probably a very long line.

Hi Citizen,

The message in your songs are so solid/meaningful it seems every track you lay your vocals down on fit perfectly like hand in glove, I love that rawness, it has undeniable power in it, so, so super creative, that's what music should be. Yep, best thing I ever did was having my gorgeous son, he has grown up into such a fine young man. I loved this, the message is wonderful. GREAT!! work here my friend, enjoyed and a fave for me :)

I'm glad you have a son! I have 3 daughters, all grown, and now the middle one has 3 kids. You'll find, if you're lucky like me, that being a grandparent is the best thing ever. You get to fix every mistake you made the first time round and just shower love on the little ones, which is easy to do, in fact impossible not to, because they're adorable. Anyway, I'm writing a lot of song now to express those relationships and those feelings, which are so incredibly powerful. I'm so glad you like it and don't find my voice appalling. It's very encouraging to get such positive feedback from a truly gifted singer (you). So thank you!

A personal and unique musical idea. It's different and I think different stands out from the pack. It's raw, meaningful and a bit in your face.

Cool track!

Less is more for sure (a concept that I have trouble following often unfortunately...)
Your track works well this way. I really dig your voice and the disturbing mood of the track
Well done mate !

I love the minimalist approach. Your vocals with the drums and choir is awesome. The track is effortlessly massive. It feels sluggish and heavy which is perfect for building a monument. The opening percussion reminds me of something Noisia or Ivy Lab would use. Great work.

Thank you. I really appreciate the comment. I've hated my singing voice my whole life and only recently decided screw it, let's just get the most out of it. So your comment is really encouraging. I don't know those bands you mentioned so I'll check them out. Again, thank you!

The percussion is certainly complex. Powerful chorus & break too. Great work.

Thank you. Basically it's just three beats layered. I love to play with looperman beats and loops. It's the funnest thing on earth, and inevitably leads to orchestration and songs. And then when I get a great groove, I just hop on and ride it. So thank you!

This is intense! I love it. The synth hits and the vocals have a tension between them that really adds to the mood. That eerie choir around 2:03 is sick too.

Thank you! Yeah, that synth loop is nice. So much great stuff on this smorgasbord of loops to choose from, and you can always find exactly the perfect thing you need, I've found, if you look hard enough. Thank you, I really appreciate the comment and encouragement!

Thank you, sweetcherries. Y'know, I have very much enjoyed the songs you've posted recently - I've only started coming back to the site recently (even though it's amazing). And I went to your page and listened to some there, WISHING I COULD COMMENT (as I'm sure a lot of others do, too) but it seems they're always disabled. You have a wonderful, wonderful voice and a beautiful way with music - so now I can tell you that in my own comment. Thank you for your wonderful comment here, which means so much coming from you. Your voice is something special so please keep singing and sharing - we need you.

I like it. Dark and foreboding. Vocals work well against the music. Maybe a lead of some sort? Nice job.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I'm so afraid of boring people that I usually jump in singing within a few seconds, but I'll consider a lead-in. Thanks for the suggestion and the comment.

Thank you. It's all about family to me. Of course, even alligators know that, so it's nothing special about us. But too often we act (or I have) like we've forgotten. Anyway! Thanks for the encouragement.
