Cool track, fun and upbeat. Sounds like something made in Florida, has that southern feel to it....and mentions guns, ha! My opinion it's a bit over compressed causing everything to be at the same level in the mix, leaving no depth in the song and a little fatiguing on the ears but in saying that it's a very well put together song and a great effort by all the musicians and participants in the track.
This is absolutely awesome!! love the rawness of the vocals which are perfect for a song such as this, strong and solid vocals indeed, enjoyed my listen from start to finish... Excellent! work here.
Thank you so much, lady. Means so much coming from you. I went and listened to, and faved, your latest track. There's so much class about you and elegance in your voice, it's a pure and lovely thing. I sincerely hope your life is everything you want it to be!
Spin doctor, ha ha, that went over my head, but I'm glad it reminded you of something and that you enjoyed it. Thank you for your comment and feedback!
what an outstanding track...amazing band work here with a fantastic vocalist...good to hear 'live' music here in Loopey, between those trap, rap, hip hop flood...:-)
all my hats of in front of you and the band, sheer brilliance, handshake, Danke
Danke, Danke, old friend. Very much appreciate it. As long as you use quotes around 'live,' then yes. All of this music was actually played for this particular song by these particular musicians. None of it was loops, which is very unusual for me. A group of fantastic musicians - I couldn't have asked for anything better and it's really humbling for me to hear such skill and talent. So thank you for your response and comment!
I love the moving bassline on this one. Super creative and well produced. I love it at 1:45 when it just rocks out. Ever-changing and building. awesome tune! And I love the abrupt ending.
You get two turntables and a microphone for this one.
great Job .

Thanks, man. I really appreciate that. I hadn't heard of Whiskey Dick and so went and listened to a couple of their songs with their fantastic guitar work. I am in such awe of people that can play like that. I can't. Luckily I can find some great players to do my songs sometimes and make them sound better than they deserve. Thanks again for your comment.
Great vocalist & the lyrics are fun. Kudos for that. It's definitely "Americana" type rock & roll, which is great. This would sound fantastic being played by a bar band in the right sort of place. Like a "jeans & ball caps" kind of place over a "cosmopolitans & designer shoes" kind of a thing. The track is exceptionally clean & professional sounding as well. So great work all the way round on this.
Thank you. I wish I could claim credit for the great production but I wasn't even there, to be truthful, this is a crew that did a bunch of my songs and I relied on them completely and managed the process long distance. Most of the time a lot or all of the music was an orchestration of loops but this is one of the few times where it was all original music played in the studio. I agree - this should be done in a honkytonk kind of place, maybe with some sawdust on the floor or peanut shells. Thank you for your kind comment.
I work in tech support and each day I clock in..this is exactly how I feel...I think this will be my new listen to track before I go in each day to deal with some of the people I have to deal with on a daily basics...love the track...great work.
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. Tech support - you're the unsung heroes of the business, keeping everything running, cuz everything today depends on IT. You guys saved my butt many's the time back in the day when I worked in cubicles (no more, thank God!). If it helps you get through the day, that's a great honor for me. Thank you!
Thank you, sir! Yes, everyone pretty much would want one more day. Yet, in a street altercation, if someone were to pull out a gun it would likely be over in a second. And this is what would be running through my mind - as well as how fast it happened, and how stupid it was, likely over nothing. So I just try to be nice when I walk around! Thanks for your comment.
Really speaking the truth in this, I highly respect it. A lot of people give in to their own hate instead of ever trying to learn love and it tears them apart to the core. Crazy people are quick to grab a gun when things aren’t going their way nowadays. I also agree with Alien, I dig your vocals and your unique style. Looking forward to hearing more
JUST WOW!!! Maaaan, checked your profile before posting, that is so nice that someone grown on 70s prog and so on dont end up like me: doing black metal or dusty jazz\blues. Its like 70s and AOR have evolved to 2019, awesome track. Envy.
Oh I've done my share of other types of music as well, because, after all, I've lived through and been influenced by it all, from folk to hip hop. Ain't nothing wrong with black metal or jazz or blues, and I shall check out your musical efforts in those veins. But yeah - prog rock of the early '70s... Last night I was at a get-together with my daughters, there was a contemporary song on that reminded me of something, so I asked my youngest to play "30 Days in the Hole", which she did, and then she was like, whoa, that's like but way better than what we were just listening to only it's from nearly 50 years ago. So maybe she'll become a Humble Pie fan now. Anyway, I'm so glad to hear from Russia/Norway, so glad you took the time to listen and comment and make me feel inspired - thank you.
This has a mournful quality to it I really like. (Of course I would like that.) The vocal fits into the mix quite nicely and the track has "space." By space I mean it isn't loaded with instruments, effects, multiple loops lots of percussion and so forth. Getting a dark, mournful feel on a track means giving the track a feeling of "space" and this track does that well. Take that critique from someone who makes a lot of dark, creepy tracks. So great job on this.
Thank you. I like that bit about "space." It was actually much more crowded with loops and music when we started, but we gradually stripped most of it away. It was tricky because a ghost of the deleted music was still in the recorded vocals, so that was something we had to finesse. But I realized it had to be stripped down and spare, and I'm really glad you, as a connoisseur of the mournful, responded positively.
Thank you. Yes, I realize as I listen to a lot of my songs, that I often violate all the rules of songwriting. Of course there are no rules, really, but there are standard structures, and I use those sometimes, but a lot of times I just say the heck with it and go where the song wants to go, as in this case. I felt it was a catchy little melody too and I'm glad you liked it. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and respond!
I didn't catch that rhythmic glitch!lol.think I was just caught up in the vocals!,Sunny's singing on this to me has that 60's sphycadelic feel to it!!great writing skills man!
I liked everything about this track!
im more of a hip hop head.but I am a fan of good music...this to me was great!! cheers to you both!!
Thank you, I appreciate your listening and commenting! I first heard Sunny busking on Venice Beach and I just had to work with her, and when she agreed, I wrote songs as fast as I could for her to sing because it was so great working with a singer and player of that calibre. That glitch - well, maybe we finessed it out of existence, cuz we sure tried. And thank you for your kind comment about my writing - everyone's usually so blown away by Sunny that they don't notice the song itself! I appreciate it all.
Thanks citizen, for the vote of confidence regarding my voice, I basically sing for pleasure, I enjoyed my time when I was in the limelight on stage performing. I don't care too much for the way the music business is today but having said that I'm still in demand, yes I do have a lot of people wanting to work with me but I enjoy doing my own thing, such a rebel lol.. but who knows, maybe in the near future I can sing on one of your tracks, it would be an honor, thanks again, keep up the awesome work! :)
Your message always comes through loud and clear. Another deep and meaningful creation here by you. I truly enjoy the work you put out, it certainly grabs ones attention, Keep doing what you do it's so original, Kudos.
