I enjoyed the melody a lot. To your comment about being a backing track for vocals, yeah, that's what it feels like to me, not necessarily complete in and of itself because it feels like it needs another layer of music on top, but an excellent, ethereal track to lay vocals on. Great work.
Sounds fantastic! My only complaint is that I want it double in length. I was hoping it would open up into a long guitar solo full of restraint and juicy riffs. It feels to me like the start of something great. Fwiw, thanks!
Thank you for bringing this truly lovely vocal to my (our) attention. I feel that your piano accompaniment is perfect for it. It highlights and meshes with it beautifully. Fantastic work!
You had me at Richard Feynman. Smart people making smart, funny music. I wish this would be a top hit and make you a pile of money. I wish that were the society that we lived in. Alas, it is not. So good luck with your wicked sense of humor and wild intelligence, which I, at least, appreciate.
Feynman is awesome! I've watched every single one of his vids, more than once. His lectures are the best, so entertaining, insightful and humorous.
I just write songs for me to like, if others do than that's a bonus. Sometimes they are a little silly like this one, sometimes more political or maybe a folky, sappy love song.
No, probably won't be a big hit, maybe 5 or 6 comments and a few likes, lol.
I like this. So much that I had to fave it. I don't know why. The sounds are very lovely, I guess that's why. There's no beat, of course, and yet it had no problem carrying me along to the end, because it has its own internal rhythm, I suppose. It must. Ethereal and lovely and strange, and pretty wonderful. Thank you.
Oh man, I love this beat. I'm in the high desert of the Mojave in a cabin with a laptop and some solar power but no mike, otherwise I'd be recording something right now on top of this whacky beat because it was just pulling it out of me with no effort. "Coyotes came through here last night. I been sitting here watching the crows fight." And so on. For me that's a great trap beat -- when it just pulls the lyrics right out of your lungs. Great, fun work!
Had me dancing in my chair at 11 pm. Your first sentence of description describes it perfectly, and that bass is so fine, and so fun. Many great touches throughout, a really deft hand all around, I would definitely seek out more of your stuff -- very enjoyable to me.
So sorry about your technical troubles. I'm glad this piece was saved because you've taken us on a fantastic ride with it. The sounds are super high quality and I love the dynamism of the orchestration and flow. I'm very impressed with the mix and the clarity of all its internals. It seems the work of a pro.
Thanks, C-Mo2, Very high praise from you. So this piece was not saved from the abyss that happened, I created it on the spot just to test out the new setup for the DAW and mastering software. I re-visited it to polish it up as it turned out to be a cool idea (Rita has a good point about sometimes the most benign idea can be incredible). Sometimes when everything goes to shit, the most incredible better situation can arise, and in this case, it did. I am right smack in the middle of creating a house album, and I think Apex will be apart of it. thanks as always.
Great piece - I love it! The only thing is I wish it went on longer. It didn't feel quite done so I think you could extend it another 30 seconds or so. I really like and would appreciate a reprise of that finicky guitar that starts at about 1:58 I think it was -- I really like that staccato guitar and would not be disappointed if it made another appearance at the end. But that's just me. Fantastic work.
You had me dancing in my chair for six and a half minutes. I love the flow of music, all the different parts work so well together. And the drum sections that seem to kind of divide it into thirds are really great. Fantastic work all around.
CitizenMofo2, welcome back. This one had you dancing? Yep that’s what’s up! I’m elated this track set well with you. The fave is not taken for granted and is greatly appreciated. Have an totally awesome weekend and be safe.

I am the 14th fave. High quality - both vocals and guitar, and that sneaky trumpet if I'm not mistaken (I often am), all so beautiful, and the refined restraint had me on the edge of my seat. Yeah, that's the way to do it.

Hearing Patricia Edwards' voice after so long is like getting a hug from an old friend.
And the production is restrained and fiiiine. Superb all around.
