Yeah! Been trying to get the chance to listen to this for a few days now. Not a descent into madness but an ascent into sanity... If that makes sense. Order emerges from seeming chaos.
If I understand the Philosophy correctly.
Chaos is just order waiting to happen and
vise versa. Without each other they both loose
meaning, If that makes sense.
Thanks for stopping by and subjecting yourself to
some almost mind numbing CHAOS...LOL.
I'm glad you enjoyed this track. I went back
to basics and played all the instruments myself
and used Samples for Vocals (the same Vocal samples
I've used since I started).
Thank you for your listen, encouraging words and Fave!
PEACE...
Wow ... you're all bass again. How many basses are in there at the beginning...3...4? Only you can create such a puzzle and then later transform it into the most restful, warm flow. As always great and unique!
Peace from the Valley of Neander
The answer to your question is 3 Basses.
2 Synths and 1 Marcus Miller Funky Fingers Bass.
I really appreciate you stopping by to give my track
a listen. Your encouraging comments mean a lot to me.
Nothing worse than having to apologize for getting bass all over someone's face ehh? The vox is cool at the end. The mushrooms must have been extra good when u did this mate!. Wow. Creatively done as usual.
I started to name it "Bass in the face".
Bass all over your face would have been a
good title. Back to the drawing board.
Thanks for giving the track a listen.
YEAH YEAH YEAH - at the start Im thinking it sounds like James Brown meet War and made some lounge music (with quincy jones and frank Z producing) then it settles even more into a beautiful soulful funk with the gorgeous female vox coming in with the other voice - yeah indeed.
It's been a while,
I want to get back in the
swing of things here on LM.
Your comments are a sign that
I must be headed in the right direction.
I appreciate you stopping by and giving the track a listen
and for your colorful and encouraging comments.
PEACE...
I'm sure you've noticed by now that
titles aren't my strong point. In fact
If it were not for LM's strict 5 character
rule for titles I would just use numbers.
You know I'm always down for a fresh sound so
send me an idea or 2. I'm all ears, roughly speaking. lol
Thanks for stopping by listening, commenting and Faving.
I know that my track has arrived on LM after I get
a comment from you. You have no idea how much I look
forward to your comments.
I'm not just blowing smoke. You've been there for my good
and bad tracks.
I have a tendency to come and go but I've always tried to return the favor and be an honest ear for your tracks as well.
Hey Rob! Sorry I've been MIA for the past few months, spent much of the summer trekking around up north. Two things:
1. Bassface is an objectively awesome title.
2. Obviously the mix, and the sounds are fantastic. I think I was most impressed by your use of the stereo field, with the instruments being relatively stationary and the voices moving so rapidly, it makes the whole track seem so "live", if that makes any sense.
I think we both have a tendency to go on hiatus
from time to time. Life happens.
I think I either over or under think titles. I don't
have the poetic gift for titles.
Recently I have been stressing over the "Media Medium" a
listener might use when listening to my tracks. I wonder if they are car, monitor, headphone or cellphone listeners.
I use all of the above, sometimes it's a nightmare but...
I like my sound to be wide with Vocals left and right sometimes if I'm in a mood Female left Male right. Bass and Keys dead center unless the Rhodes is just an accompaniment.
Cymbals left and right Kick center Snare slight left.
Then I just insert notes and rhythm voila.
So far so good I hope things have been going well for you up in the Great North.
Thanks for giving the track a listen and for your encouraging comments.
It's been a while so I felt
I needed to get back to basics
and go oldschool.
When I first started using DAW's
I used to play all the instruments
all the time. Now that I have probably
close to a MIllion samples I have been working
on learning the nuances of digital music production.
But every now and then I just want to play.
Thanks for giving the track a listen and encouraging comment.
PEACE...
Oh YEAH Rob! Some serious bass business going on. I’m totally loving the break’s. But that section at 2:05 is the chill zone and WOW. Synths are taking my language definitely. You have upped your dynamics game with the overall mix. Another fine composition in the JYNXZ tradition. Faved of course.
What's up Mark,
You know I learned that
Bass pattern from our boy
Big Ant back in the 80's I
bet he would be surprised to
hear that I still remember it.
BTW. I "stacked" the Kick and HH
on this one. I'm starting to get the
hang and ear for knowing the different
instruments on the Drums. I really appreciate
the tips you've given me with the Drums.
Thanks for stopping by and giving the track a listen
Fave and for the encouragement to "turn knobs"
Wow, Robbie.
I loved the chilled jazz vibe.
This is a fantastic piece of music, my friend.
Sorry my friend I thought I did this one blame it on the tablets.
Well done mate
Downloaded & Faved.

No worries, I'm glad you got a chance to
check this track out. I thought it was out
of the cycle, I haven't been on LM much lately.
Your Fave is a huge encouragement for me.
I figured you'd gone on a sabbatical to some remote place
In Maka Picchu the Congo or perhaps Boise doing a music
Quest.
I'm glad you're back, perhaps you can help me stop plundering time signatures and what not.:-)
As always I appreciate you stopping by, giving my track a listen and this time a Fave.
Just point me in the direction you
want to go and I'm always game for making
some music.
Thanks for your listen and hopefully we can
do a track real soon.
Mark and I were in a band together(Back in the day)
If it weren't for him I probably would have never started
playing Keyboards.
I'm glad you like the track. You seem to be partial to "Vox"
so I make sure I put plenty in most of my tracks.
I appreciate your listen and very kind comments.
Wow, what an intro. The time sig choices you have made, have enabled my head to twitch for a few minutes, but I got over it as the song settled in with that piano and some cool spatial sounds giving you that acid-like experience sort of like Mushroom does. This is a very well-creative composition you have made. I had to listen twice, fav'd
I know that the "Genre Police" are
on my trail so, I guess now I'll have
a "Time signature Swat team" watching me
too:-).
I love LM, this is the place where you can
post your "real" musical ideas and get real time
feedback from other Producers/Artists that are on
the same musical journey.
I appreciate you stopping by and giving this track a
listen and especially for the Fave. It means a lot coming
from a LM alumni like yourself.
Yes this did mess with my head, not being able to find the first beat of a bar most of the way through. But I like that a lot. Great smooth slinky track, sultry vox, cool as fuck piano. Sweet all round.
I am beginning to find some of my old stuff
that had decent content but, back then I wasn't
as knowledgeable about the presentation or some of
the other utilities and what-not that can make an old
track sound very different than it did back then. I guess
since I'm still learning more stuff about music production
almost everyday I'll probably say the same thing about this
version two years from now.
Your listen and Fave are a huge encouragement as well as a
indicator that I'm moving forward. I really appreciate it.
I've probably said this before but you are one of the artist
here on LM that caught my ear when I first got on LM.
You may have been one of the first to make encouraging comments on tracks I posted that kept me going and continuing to post on LM. Thanks.
Thanks for your listen and continued encouragement.
oh, brother, that first change at :38 just made me both sit up and set back for more, and having read your desc i knew i was in for something special. over with way 2 soon!! ah, the swinging piano is brilliant, as is the stabby synth lead. and yeah, the rhythm section takes no prisoners! i am really glad you uploaded this for us!!
I was very happy with the way this track turned out.
I had just gotten the Bass and Keyboard VST's when I
wrote this and was a little afraid that I needed to play
with them more before I posted a track with them but, apparently that fear was just me.
I'm really glad you found this track interesting enough to Fave it. That is a sure indication to me that the music I'm
making is going in the right direction.
I got some good nfo from BofD (pro straight beat) and Mark (pro oddball beat) I hadn't really given much thought to time signatures but after my conversations with them I started paying more attention to it. It seems it's something you can't un-see once you start seeing/hearing it.
I appreciate your listen and encouraging comments.
I've been enjoying your tracks since I got on LM.
I'm glad I could make a track that you enjoy.
Thank you for giving the track a listen. Your comments
are very encouraging to me. The Fave is really appreciated.
Rob, Nice! The formula you used produced an on point groove. I remember this one. I love the lively entrance then you came with that ultra smooth chilled jazz vibe. That bass fits perfectly and your signature synth work never disappoints. A great track faved!
I'm glad you liked this track.
I got a little tired of the "Splash"
Cymbal I told you about by the time I
was ready to post but I still kept it in.
Your listen and Fave is always a sign to me
that I must be moving in the right direction.
love that intro with the echo and the glitched start, then wow super smooth jazz, them vox bro, hahahaha, gorgeous, as you can see ive teased and pleased her mate love a cymbal smash aswell great job
You don't miss anything.
The Cymbals were the first
thing that caught my ear as
I was scrolling through some
of my old tracks. Those Vox's
just never seem to wear out. I've
been using pretty much the same ones
since I started making tracks.
I really appreciate you stopping
by and giving this track a listen.
Your Fave is the icing on the cake.
