The "Neanderthal" has the right idea! I love those two guys from Striking Daggers, they have been good sources of info from the Hip Hop World. That being said, this is freaking insane and freaking awesome mate. Did Shatner just say scuse me while I kiss this (guy) I mean sky...!!!!! Great mix, and very creative, nice work!
ya this is some snakehandling trip. rap thru the looking glass, disappears down the rabbit hole with that frisky cowbell-style outro. this is deep and crazy i just love the hell out of it. aces, Jynx — peace!
I haven't been here in a while and just discovered this. That's great. I think it's still Jynxz, all the elements are there. Maybe a little too much reverberation on the voice, but that's just a matter of taste. Crazy too, as always, your high-energy synth solos ... I think Jynxz and rap ... that works well!
You know that I have been exploring different
Genre's and kinda filtering them with my own interpretation
It's been hit or miss but I've enjoyed myself making every beat or weird sound along the way still looking for a resonant voice I can call home. Oddly enough I feel most grounded in space.
Thanks for giving the track a listen and encouraging comments.
It took me forever to figure out that you have to use the profile numbers 220648 is JoeyBonez to find their Acapellas on LM .
I was hoping you would comment on this track so I could get the scoop.
Thank you for stopping by and giving this track a listen an fo-sho for the Fave.
Wow, Robbie.
I see you have moved from those "Ish" tracks mate.
This is a fantastic piece of music, my friend.
Please bring more of this Genre.
Well done mate
Maj
It's great to see you back here on LM.
Your continued encouragement is almost
as inspirational as hearing one of your
Hot tracks. I appreciate you stopping by
and giving this track a listen and Fave.
Hey Jynxz - love it - very cool - zappaesque hip hop - I listened to this last night before bed on the headphones (not realising I wasnt logged on) ... this morning on the mac speakers the HH's sound a little splashy and the the bass lacks but I didnt think that at all through the headphones so I think it's the tiny speakers not doing it justice. Always love your stuff (well I cant remember not loving it lets put it that way) : )
What's up pseudoble. Is that pronounced "suitable"?
I've been running into some media issues. I can't seem to decide which of my mediums is telling me the truth Car, Van,
Phone (with headphones) or Computer (with headphones). The main problem is each of these mediums has a specific sound that I like (Car/Bass) (Van/Drums) (Phone/separation/Air) etc.
There was a time when my car was my go-to but now .?.?.?
I appreciate you stopping by and giving me some insight on how the track sounds on your end.
well done Rob, 100% respect for stepping out your comfort zone and the same again for your interpretation. your music ability is unquestionable. this is how i see it, and ive had 4 listens headset and speakers so i can give an honest opinion, which is what you want. you could so easily have chosen a well known rapper to help carry your first attempt, you didnt, bravo, you choose one of LMs biggies again bravo, i fully understand your apprehension about using others work especially accas, i felt the same about Frank Yola and Salty, tbf he left a positive comment which was cool but this is familiar territory for me. it isnt for you, from the opening second its rap i felt i knew what was coming, yes i was surprised by your interpretation, because its bloody creative mate, will the hardcore like it, fuk em, rap is an interpretion anyway ive forgotten what my thing is since ive been here, i like madness now more than anything, you covered all the points its repetitive its got hot vocals the cymbal rides are fire the drum is what makes this different, its usually one repetitive beat, you choose to do different nowt wrong with that, overall i like what you've done, you most certainly done the most important thing right though, nothing interfering with the rappers vocal, thats the most important to them being heard. you get a fav for having the balls and for creative flare. two points to note the outro is fading the rappers lines if it was ad-libs it wouldnt be an issue :)) they big headed fuckers they dont want fading even at the end the music could finish it, the other is really personal taste i would slightly bring the vocal up a tad or bring the beat down a tad, but for a first attempt mate, great work, it would be nice to see a comment from the guys too.
my next was inspired by you i will mention it in the description, ive stepped out too, watch out for it in the next couple of days, im still deciding ad- libs or instrumental never done a track without vox before
This has got to be the most comprehensive informative comment I have ever gotten here on LM. Your insight on writing Hip/Hop/Rap music specifically and any Genre for that matter is on point. Thank you very much for your encouragement to continue to color outside the lines.
I'm looking out for your next creative endeavor. I know it will be off the hook.
Rob, from my point of listening you’ve done fine. I’m not qualified to touch much on this genre but from a production standpoint on the overall quality, beats, and flow this is a strong first attempt and a serious contender with this genre. Now when Rita and dimestop give’s their findings I’ll be throughly educated! I’m faving this because I like uncharted territory where you represented and held it down for a very strong statement! TTYL.
I was a little too obsessive with this track.
I don't mind if I miss the mark with my own music
but I do have concern when I use the samples of another
LMer (artist)especially acapella.
As always I appreciate your Fave listen and encouraging comments.
You've been there since day one for me on this musical journey.
top draw Rob, great creativity, and its like flicking through my sample library ive got lots of these samples i should use them more, i also remember your driving through the metropolis of an evening ive been having a go its done but id like a vocal. i learn alot from listening to you bro
God only knows how many Vocal samples I have.
Ironically enough I only use about 100 of them
maybe less, over and over. I call them "The Bro's & Brides of Jynxzinstien"lol. It's intriguing how they
impact my tracks. Sometimes I will do a total re-write
because of how one of the Vocal samples changes my idea of what I'm trying to do if that makes any sense.
I really appreciate your continued support and encouragement
We can learn so much from each other. I try very hard to keep my ears open. Music is everywhere.
When I learned that little Bass line back in 1972 I thought I was God LOL. I must have played it 1000's of times on everything from a Acoustic Piano to a Micro Moog (which had just came out) I used it to decide which Keyboard instrument I would buy (Farfisa Professional Gino Vanelli had just released
"Ma Ma Co Co" he played Farfisa)sorry about the rant I may or may not have had too much Coffee. LOL.
Thanks for your listen and comments on this track.
damn, now this sounds nothing like sun ra, but it brought him to mind and dude it’s cosmic, or straight from saturn let’s say. really mindblowing free-funk jam that really catches fire and then goes nova. applause, buddy!
It is an incredible complement coming from
you, to mention my attempts at releasing a free-flo
sound that you find enjoyable. It is also very encouraging.
Your Fave means a whole lot to me. I'm a big fan of your work.
Got me with the intro and the beat straight off. I really dig your stuff cause often its just not run of the mill at all, different sounds, different muse. Funk but not funk. You ever hear these guys (Rise Robot Rise)? Sometimes your stuff reminds me of them.
Wow... Thanks for sharing. They sound like a mix between Cameo, Frank Zappa and perhaps a polished version of Parliment. I'm definitely going to pass them on. I have no idea how I missed them. Oh yeah, the 90's I was drunk high or somethin LOL.
Thank you for your listen, comments and for turning me on to
"Rise Robot Rise"
Another very creative and well mixed track. Valve Driver mentioned Art of Noise, once I read that I absolutely agree with him. I like how the vocals sit in the mix too, it's not easy to get them to sit right, great job!
Hey Wayne, It's a great day (for me) when
I get not only a listen ,comment but a Fave
from a LM legend like yourself. When I first
got here (LM) I never imagined such a thing. It
is incredibly encouraging.
Man, this reminds me of some early-ass industrial, or Art Of Noise. Maybe even a little Revolting Cocks. Kind of different for Looperman. I dig it. Good job.
I haven't listened to much that has happened
in the music scene since back then.
I appreciate your listen, especially since
you've been where I'm coming from it's super encouraging.
Hi Jynxz.
This days i hear some producers with new styles in a good way and you are 1 of them.
Great great sounds in it and i like that vox and spoken word.
Well done mister!!
Rob, so this entrance gives a awesome sense of motion. The break @.51 is off the chart good. That groove @1:24 is nasty THO! Then the Rhodes Trip @ 2:14. You seriously hurt me with this! Your classic trademark sound and synth work. This is deep in the FAVE ZONE! TTYL
First off, this place is awful for the genre listings available if you make real music, rock, pop, latin jazz and folk. Ok, weird works too but to me this is fusion, oh yeah fusion is available. ha!
It's good, upbeat, fun, lighthearted and interesting to listen to. The guitars are fitting, the synths are outstanding, drums are well put together too.
I have a Johnson mandolin so literally I play with my Johnson from time to time. I do have to use both hands tho so I'm sorta proud of that. But I get where you're coming from, he!
I don't know what half of them are either (genres)! I'd call this one wild but tight. Or something. Great track, you lifted me up and brought me down to for a safe landing. Shame about that...could have kept going up.
I have nothing against the guys that
know the qualifications for all the Genres.
I'm just barely hanging on keeping up with all
the toys you can use in a DAW. I'm just having a
blast making music and listening to all the ideas
and creativity you guys are posting here on LM.
I think you were baiting all of us with your master guitar and synth playing ;-). This sounds like a fun jam that you did. I used to do stuff like that back in the day for practice and sometimes those jams could turn into songs. Whether you were manually overriding the sounds or Lone rangering the drum parts. I mean playing all those instruments you were literally playing five on one and taking the self guided tour. All you needed was a singing soprano you old downstairs DJ. ;-)
You're right, this is kind of a Jam session with Myself.
I think every now and then we should just "let er rip".
for instance I would have enjoyed a whole track of the Guitar
that you did on your last track but... You sprinkled teasers
of the Guitar throughout the track (Cool & tasteful). I wondered how some of your Guitar takes that didn't appear on the track sounded, awesome I'm sure.
Thanks for giving my track a listen and for your continued encouraging comments.
