I was telling Ian that I am doing more experimenting
with getting some new (new to me lol) sounds. There are
so many toys that I'm sure I have just scratched the surface
with. I think I'm starting to get the logic of being able to make certain sounds sound a certain way (if that makes sense) You know, trying to translate the sounds in my head to sounds on a track.
I am glad you stopped by and listened, downloaded and faved this track and lived to tell about it lol.
Your description made me laugh.
You must have been hungry lol.
This track is indeed something different from what we are used to from you, but in a very positive way.
The music is great and also vocals are great and fit in perfectly.
Very well done Jynxz!!
The Female Vocal laugh@35sec. is the same vocal you've been
commenting on for about 2 or 3 yrs. I manage to fit it into every track I write. I really hadn't given Vocals much though until you commented on the Vocals way back then. Now sometimes the Vocals take over the track and I end up re-writing the music behind the Vocals, even when the track started out with them as just accents.
Thank you for stopping by and giving this track(hope it didn't wake you this time)a listen kind comments and especially the Fave.
it's a great guitar sample, I wasnt sure if it was a keyboard sounding guitar or a guitar sounding keyboard, but yeah great sound and youve built the right tone and mood around it - love it : )
I played Bass & Rhodes on this one.
I did some "automation on my Guitar track
to simulate a effect pedal board (still in
the experimental phase for me). I played the
Synth @2:13 to the end with an attempt at Guitar
phrasing.
It's always great to have you stop by give my track a listen, I appreciate your encouraging comments. Thanks for the Fave...
Hey Robbie, another great track from you, very balanced and powerful. Personally, I would spread the solo instruments a little more around the room... left and right, you know. keep going...
Cheers, Micky
This is one of those start/stop tracks I had in my DAW library. I happened to hear the Guitar tracks while browsing "Loopcloud" yesterday. A few hours later I was posting it on LM. You are spot on about the "Panning" ordinarily I would have "spread out all the individual parts to give them spaces of their own as well as making the track more dynamic. I'm kinda still in the learning curve since I don't have my "Prius RIP" to use as my final ears, for the last 10 yrs. I'm going to need to find me a new pair of ears I can trust. LOL...
Thanks for stopping by and giving this track a listen.
Actuallly I usually play most of the instruments on my tracks, On this track I played the Bass, Rhodes & Synth. Most of my tracks start out with me on Bass, Drums(programed) Rhodes. I also create most of the FX. I add all the Vocals, and the Synth last.
Thanks for stopping by and giving this track a listen, and for your encouraging comments.
Rob! Avant- guard exotic sophisticated whole vibe you whipped up! Jynxzetts on deck. Keytar soaring. Percussion in da cut. Brass on fire! Outro narration…….. WOW! Excellent! Faved!
I can't take much credit for the Drums on this one(samples)
but the next couple of tracks I want to post are jammed packed with original Drum work. I'm glad you liked this track tho and the Fave is always greatly appreciated.
I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things. It's been a while since I've felt like producing.
Well, Rob! This was an amazing listen! I think that "wierd" as a genre doesn't do it justice. That's a great example of a prodigious musical imagination in overdrive! :) Loved the banjo part, but frankly the whole thing was a treat from beginning to end. Mix was great. You must have put a lot of effort and time into fashioning this track.
Regards from Ottawa (where we had hail today, but at least no snow! )
As I was telling 2nick8,
I had planned to post this
track as Headbanger-ish to go
with my "ish" collection. But I guess
my "oldtimers" kicked in, and before I
knew it I had posted it as "Weird", which
is my go-to for most of my tracks.:-)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate you
stopping by and leaving your very encouraging
comments.
Aha...he's back! The multicolored deer is roaring magnificently again. Robbie, it's so good to see you back in action. And how fresh this sounds.. wow! I'm already down in the hangar, polishing up our machine a bit!
On to the future!
Peace from Neanderthal
I've been hanging around a Heavy Metal Guitar player
lately. I am pretty sure he's rubbing off on me:-).
I meant to post this as a headbanger track but forgot
to (Old age).
Thanks for stopping by and giving this track a listen
and encouraging comment.
Quite a mix man, production must have been a bear to pull this off. It's like Hayseed Dixie grew some balls and metamorphosed into the Beastie Boys on acid, lol! But that's good!! It's really beyond that though.
I was just on my way to your place when
I got this comment email.
I tried. I really did but, I just coudn't
leave that damn Banjo on the table. Something
about it's energy just drew me in. It seems like
lately I havn't been able to finish a track without
running into a sample or sound that sends me off on a
whole nuther track. I've got to have at least 10 or 15
Start/Stop projects in my DAW. BTW... I went and listened
to some "Hayseed Dixie" (I thought you made it up lol). Now
I've got ideas for another track lol.
Thanks for giving my track a listen, comments,FAVE! and for turning me on to "Hayseed Dixie"
Hey Jynx - where you been? Always a joy to hear your stuff.
This one is a wild ride - love it - deliverance on mushrooms! Brilliant mix of genres, great beats and wonderful productions sound. More please : )
Hey Ian,
It would probaly be easier and
less complicated for me to tell
you where I have'nt been(smile).
I'm just glad I came back at a time
when you are posting some of your new
work. I'm headed your way now.
It's very encouraging to hear comments
like yours after being out of the loop for
a minute or two. Thank you for giving this
track a listen. Your Fave is very much appreciated.
I like all of this, from Granny to the end. Hot funk sound. The guitar has a synthesized sound effect to perfection. The groove is hard. Nothing like a AX on fire. I will be back for more. PEACE. T576 OUT.
I played every instrument on this track with my Keys.
It's a super honor to hear your positive comments on the
Guitar part. I have had at least two or three VST Guitars that I've been able to get a resonable resemblence to an actual Guitar, I can get the scales, phrasing and even the synthisized effects but in the end I can never seem to pull off the feeling I get when I hear a "Real" Guitar like yours. I will definately be checking out all the tracks you post. Your guitar playing speaks to me.
Thank you for the encouraging comments. PEACE from the East...
great rock track Rob, them drums are insane great guitar and bass, the banjo is class and the twists and turns you put in just add to the track excellent creativity shown too great mix mate great to have you back around
I started to post this track as a "HeadBanger"
The thought didn't come to me till after I posted.
I didn't know if Rock was still a reconized thing.LOL.
It's obvious we are both "Old School".
It's great to hear from you. I've got to check your portfolio
and see what I've missed.
Thank you for giving my track a listen and especially for
your Thumbs up on the track.
Jynx! this is a bitchin mashup, the banjo sample is a really cool catalyst that hooked me right away. as did the dark gnarl underpinning the whole shebang. this is a very tight 3mins, the stylistic slalom is a real headrush. it’s a pleasure to hear you, bud — you always bring the gusto. peace!
I had no idea how dependant I was on the sound system in
my old car 2013 Prius RIP 482,803.2km
I always used my car stereo as the final word on my tracks.
I see now that it will take me a while to adjust to my new sound system hate it. I'm not sure I can trust my favorite headphones either, they have suffered a lot of abuse over the years and, I know the end is near for them lol.
perhaps a new sound will emerge for me a better sound I hope.
Your comments are always very encouraging, you also have a way with your discription of tracks that gives me a different perspective on the way I think about the content in future tracks, thanks...
The energy I get from your comments always puts me
over the edge. I figure that you hear the intent of the
content on my tracks before you hear the train-wreck sound
engineering.
Thanks again for giving my track a listen and for your very encouraging comments.
I'm glad you survived this "HeadBanger"lol.
It started as a calm ballad but I guess I have
a lot of rage that needed to come out. I guess it
was just a matter of time before something snapped.
I'm sure Freud would blame this on my Mother lol. There
was only a Zillion other directions I could have went with
a Banjo lol.
I've missed the musical and friendship connection I got here om LM. This musical community has been like family to me over the years.
Thank you for your listen and encouragement TTYL...
Rob! You rocked this track from start to finish. Yep, you did your thug thizzle with that lead bass. This is reminiscent of the group Niacin. Very interesting journey. Expertly arranged, and your drum work is stellar. This is the very best to date and fully faved. TTYL.
I'm glad you liked the
Drumwork on this track, it
seems to me that we are both
having a good time with each others
main instrument. I've been hearing you
just crushing the Keys from Rhodes to B3.
Every since you turned me on to separate mikes
and alternate Drum pieces, I can't seem to finish
a track until I spend a ridiculous amount of time picking out each piece, out of a almost infinite sea of choices. At some point I gotta make a Kit I can live with lol.
I really appreciate you stopping by and giving this track a
listen, the fave is icing on the cake.
I hope I'll be able to put music back into my daily routine.
I'm trying real hard to pump the brakes on this "everything all at once" chapter.
Welcome back man
Nice drum guitar combination they go really well. Very cool and creative add ins. You did on purpose only have them coming out of the left side only. Doesn't sound bad it blends in. Just curious on that part.
As for this track, besides the Vocals
and Drums, the Bass,Keys and Guitar are
the Banjo sample converted to Midi. Actually
most banjo Samples will make excellent Funk Bass
when coverted to Midi with some minor timing adjustments.
I usually pan most of the tracks a little to the left or right instead of gain staging to feature certain sounds
with FX going in a circle. I hope I answered your question. I've had about 4 cups of coffee and the room is starting to melt and change colors.
Thank you for your encouraging comment.

Amazing work. You can't go wrong with MT. He's an extraordinary artist and drummer. This was very well put together. Excellent mix and master. PEACE T576 OUT.

I really wanted to use a Sitar but it didn't jibe well with the oscillating Bass sound, and I just gave it up and kept the Bass the way it is.
