I think your definition of "heavy" and mine differ greatly. But, with all that low end going on, I can definitely agree that this is a heavy one.
This is a clean track. Everything is placed exactly where it should be. Nothing crowds anything else, and everything is buried in the mix. You have a great balance of sounds that cover the range. There's heavy low ends in the subs, good mids in the pads, and synths, and highs in the chimes/bells. There's actual melodies, not just a bunch of spliced wubs, growls, and screams. it almost reminds me of something I would do. Like Soundhound said, "This is musical..."
I felt the menace, disguised, crawling, a grinning smile. I like the atmosphere very much with that tension you built all through the track til that static electricity-like ending.
Good job (not a judgment, just my humble opinion), thx for sharing :)
Peace,
Carole
If there was a scare at the end, yeah, I'd say that'd be what I was going for. But, I was really just thinking "28 Days Later," the entire time... I don't know why. But hey, glad you like it. Played it out forever on my keyboard until I decided I'd just do it.
i like it. peaceful, calm rhythm sweet. I like the backwards elements. I think they give a different tone to music when used properly -as here. The earliest I know of backwards music added to give tonal qualities is Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix. One of the worst things (perhaps the worst) is ppl offering negative opinions when not asked for. If someone says something like "what do u think? How can i improve this?" then may be ppl can suggest but otherwise ppl usually post stuff they have listened to often and like - whether others do or not. There's an old saying 'if u havent got anything nice to say then dont say anything' seems to not apply on the internet. Anyway great track that will really suit someone with the right vocal qualities i feel.
You're listening too hard to the reverse. You need to listen as a whole.
And here's the magic: I didn't ask you. Your feedback is appreciated, but unnecessary, because I don't consider this a real track, it's just a clever way to release a preview. Please pay attention.
Love that metallic sound design in intro and in drop as well! It's a bit too repetitive tho, but this's your composition; I just suggest you to try bring more variations in your next projects :)
Reminds me a lot of Fuck That by Skrillex.
The bass cuts through the rest of the track very cleanly, but lacks slightly in width. I'm interested to hear what a good mastering session will do to improve it.
Basically, keep it up!
Can't say I like Skrillex, but I know what you're talking about with the Width. It was actually designed that way because I am not going for hardcore dubstep and I want this to fit in a more ethereal/ambient setting. Might update this now and again, so check back every once in a while, yeah?
Interesting style for sure... I'm very curious about your reference to the "ethereal environment." Care to expand on what you mean by having made them in this environment? The sound is pretty good on the bass, but more "wet" than I usually enjoy, especially when I'm designing a bass sound. It's not super stereo though, so that is a good thing. Could be a cool song if you expand and develop it! Thanks for sharing, and I hope you get more feedback!
It was part of a default drum loop in FL, called "Broken." It was just run through distortion in Effector twice, and Parametric EQ 2 three times. Maximus and a limiter to throw it all together.
It was actually just quick work for me. I tend to make drum patterns by beat boxing the beat out while I make it. But the glitchiness was done with just slicing the patterns really fine and such. Not too hard.
This is some pretty powerful stuff and very good for only one hour.
Compelling, kind of pretty intro. Good soundtrack music, actually.
Then some massive bass and distorted, crunchy percussion. Sounds like a fat, very fast d'n'b groove might drop. But it doesn't.
Good to hear you're working on a fuller mix as this is well worth pursuing. Master isn't bad though maybe it's a bit too loud.
2:41 nice arp outro. In a fuller version, perhaps the fast d'n'b drums drop after 8 bars or so of that outro arp and then we're into the second half, with perhaps the first 3/4 half returning in 4/4 time.
Nice grunge to it. Kind of industrial sci fi like. Really good for 54 minutes of work. Master is not bad either. Like those synths. Really nice execution and arrangement
Firstly I am not very knowledgeable in dubstep matters too much but overall this sounds much closer to smooth chillout or a kind of slow-step music if that makes sense.
Someone said below that drums are 'too weak'... I would rather say that there is a lack of diversity and complexity of those energetic drum patterns typical of the genre.
I enjoyed listening to this one! Good luck with your music! Keep experimenting

Hey there man! Absolutely wonderful track. Reminds me of Blackmill in many MANY aspects.
I honestly believe this is mastered pretty well. Especially for a beginner. It does focus on the midranges very heavily, but that's not always a bad thing. I've heard plenty of mixes that focused too hard on the low frequencies and ended up losing all of the touchiness of the highs and mids. This seems like it's a very good balance to me.
Other than that, I would just boost the gain a little in the master. This being because, although you did a splendid job mastering, it is still pretty quiet. The goal of mastering is not only to adjust the frequency bands but to make your mix as loud as possible without clipping as well.
Please let me know how you created the synth that starts at 1:22. I've been trying to figure it out for ages!
Fantastic job mate! Can't wait to hear your remix!
Well, let's see here. I'm not sure if you use FL but there is a plugin (an amazing one) called "Sytrus." I do a lot of repurposing and general tweaking with some of the presets.
If you can believe it, it's the same synth as the wobble that is present from beginning to end.
The preset I messed with was just simply called "Grand Piano," in Sytrus. I did a little bit of tweaking in OP 1, pulled the cut-off down to nearly 0, and did some pitch bending.
So far as the mastering and mixing, I've actually started to realize... I don't like this version. I'm going to go ahead and reupload the old one, I liked that one more.
Lol, we'll see about that remix, really depends on how my mind sets it up beforehand.
This part of the comment is for everyone, please, visit my soundcloud channel for more music of mine. I recently made a song but I couldn't get it to go on looperman what with the current filesize limit. If I brought it down to below 10Megs, I'm bringing the quality down to nearly nothing. It's a long song.
I finally got a moment to listen to the update you've done here. While I still enjoy this style of the composition and sounds that you've used, I have to be honest - I think I like the mastering of the earlier version more. I find this one is very heavily focused on the mid range. It is definitely a matter of personal preference, but I don't usually enjoy that in electronic genres, and even in most rock music. This may be part of the "boxiness" which Mahloo spoke of. In general, the impression I got was this being a bit more lifeless and narrow. Please don't take these as insults at all... you have asked for feedback, and I like to be honest with feedback, especially regarding mixing and mastering. With sounds, especially synth sounds which are strong in the whole spectrum, I tend to do a wider mid range scoop. This would more often be in the mixing stage though. Since I do it wide, I will focus on areas from say 300Hz to 650Hz, depending on the source material. Be sure to use your ears with this, and not so much other senses. You can start with a deep cut to sweep the frequency setting, but it will sound more natural if you do a more shallow cut after finding a good sounding range. One of the reasons I do this, is that these frequencies are very audible to most humans, they are present in most types of sounds in music, and the overall mix will sound muddy if all channels are left untouched in this range. An added benefit is that it will often allow raising of the volume of the channel or overall mix, with a result that lower and higher frequencies are more present without processing them a lot. Hope that makes sense. Keep working and you will get the results you want!
hey effel
just putting my two pennies worth in
think tht the drums hit the mark and do what they are supposed to do , maybe electronica is a better tagg for this track but im with silverman the genres get lost on me u got good and bad dance music , this is firmly in the good camp imo
like the synths and the space left for all the elements to get there chance to speak
good tune

Wow that's one deep freaky sound!
I have no idea about these genres.
Just a great sounding tune to me.
Very nice journey this.
Had to press that little fave heart.
Love the deep deep mysterious hole this drops me down.
What's this about free?
Does that mean you're stuff is sometimes not free?
Well, a musician has to eat, haha! I have an older EP for sale, and I plan on releasing another one. I'm going to do some more mastering/mixing work on those tracks, but otherwise I am waiting for album art.
But, in all seriousness, I need to make some cash, here, soon. My PC's power supply is going out. And those mofo's are expensive.
