Hey Abe...man I've got to say it's interesting coming back to your music after awhile away.....You do a lot of raves in the forums and constantly question your direction and musical connections, that's cool but it doesn't fool me for one second..your the sort of guy that's part of the musical equation,or more specifically your musical style is more akin to a chemical reagent..it's stable but volatile when mixed....I hear a lot in this piece, the past and the present...you don't need any advice, you just need instruments a room and enough air to breathe.....most of the listening public would trade their souls for that!...cheers Dave

Dave ughh, this is just what I need to hear.

I mean... I push myself, and I watch a lot of these young cats... And to me... It's like.. there's a MOTIVE for everything they do... Trying to sell me their ideal, their style, or their feel.

I am only interested in giving away what was so given to me? ... You know?... I get a lot of value out of that. Money couldn't buy that feeling.

I just feel.

Wow, this is just awesome 0.0
Dude, seriously, the harmony within this track is just awesome. Your skill blows me to pieces man o.o
Its just a trip to here such a sick combo between rock and electronic based music. The rhythm within this is just so awesome.
Im guessing you are continuing this? the end was much to sudden, like theres a whole nother piece missing.
Great track. I dug it L:

Yeah, this could easily be a 14 minute track if I figure out who wants to write it for me!

I am still mixing this, altho I have moved on to "quieter pastures"... I do want to go really really punk rock you know?

Still working on it!

It's a weird track lol

This track sounds like I'm inside the head of Tyler Durden. A touch of chaos with a ton of control.

Nice Start...I like the drums on this one. Has an awesome jam to it.

Do you sing, bro? I think some epic and long vocals would go great in this piece.

The glitch drums are smooth and just add the right ammount of electronic flair to it.

Great tu8ne, my brotha!

Very cool style! Makes me wonder why you chose trance as the genre, because this is definitely on the rock side of things! That said, it really does rock! Great choice of sounds! Awesome arrangement! Well done my friend!
alividlife
alividlife replied Unknown
Hey thank you Spivkurl!

Yeah... Damnit I will change it to rock lol..

It's definitely like post-rock... I dunno I was listening to a buncha really old trance and post-rock and I really feel you could pull off trance and rock together... needed a drop I guess lol

Still working on this one, gonna rewrite it tonight.

I like it, but rather than driving in the mountains it makes me think of driving through the city late at night, any city really not a specific one.

An excellent and flawless production.

Perhaps I have to eat my words about the only problem I have had with the site player being volume because the moment I pressed play shock crashed lol.

I can't quite put my finger on the right word for the way this track makes me feel, the closest is hyped up I guess or Sunny days.

Very interesting I enjoyed it.

Another easy to remember title lol, another fab track buddy, big fan of Anime and alividlife so a winning combo for me, hats are brilliant!! could easily listen too and enjoy an extended version of this. cheers

Thanks!

Yeah... I dunno if it's too flamboyant. Too much crap on this.

I wish I could just let you chill in my studio and write it for me, or at least work with you.
Hell man, if I could send all the parts I would right now. Personally I am battling with the levels on this. I like a really solid low-end, and I have tried layering stuff but meh. Meh.
I think MONO is going to be the route I take... I really wanted to get a stereo bass on this..

You rock my face Salook!!!!!!!!!
I like Japan, I watch Anime.
It's what I do.

Damn, this is pure awesomeness. All those vintage ambient sounds, extreme stereo fx, phased drums etc, all fit so well :D

And lol those phased cymbals remind me of my trials a few years ago
trying to get some trash cymbal wavs sound spacy trancy :P
and I blame ATB - Ecstasy for that :P

Anyway, hoping to talk to u sometime dude. Been 2 years? Lots of stuff to catch up on :)

My compositions are rarely as here, with dominant drums, but it makes me think about my upcoming tracks. Yes, why not after all?
I appreciate your work, and this arrangement, even so sometimes my old ears suffer (^ O ^) .... but fits in the theme and background music. Good Job ....

Wow, man I dunno what you done since the first upload or what state of mind I was in when I first heard it but damn, right now, my face dropped when those drums kicked in, something octane about them, awesome pristine production oozing knowledge, posted as chill out..I'm sure it was cinematic before,,not sure but doesnt matter, still classic cinematic vibes I'm getting and I dig the whole Piece.

Seems there is some interesting history behind the Rhodes, I'll be sure to investigate.

cheers

Haha, yeah man... This one is cool....
But you should totally check out my new one, screw this track,... (even tho you are correct... something that I always toy with, and I think I learnt it from MrE from this site, is.... I will update tracks, here and there, whateva, you know?
Constantly changing things and watching the reaction from the crowd)

But yea..
The Fender Rhodes, is a fascinating instrument... A lot of the time you hear it in RnB and chill-out style tracks, but in reality it is basically a piano electric guitar. They call it "tines".

A Fender Rhodes MkII runs about $3,000 dollars circa the 70's production line.

I fuuuuucking love a fender rhodes. It's the ... most visceral, and pissed off sound I have ever heard. In my crazy opinion.

Harlod Rhodes built the first Rhodes instrument for injured soldiers who were dying or hurt in WWII. Being it could be small, and use pickups, and tons of steel strings, to create the sound, it was a nice fit. It wasn't bulky like a piany and could be moved to fit the soldier.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhodes_piano

And jesus crap look at the tuning forks midway!!! Argh... so elegant and effective.
I love this instrument.

It is basically an electric guitar but a piano.

Love yer new avatar mayne.

I really like the sound of this Alivid. The drums sound fantastic, the phaser actually really works well with them. The background synths fit in really well with the bass and drums, and it feels like it all fits together, without anything sticking out. The strings in the middle sounded fantastic, love the way that the drums were then re-introduced.

Really high quality track here 'Livid, I enjoyed the listen!

Fav'd/Downloaded.

In writing, there's evidence of human production in handwriting. Chirography - "pour water gently over chirographic text." In the Sahara, they do that with holy words and drink the ink water.

It's lost in the grapholect - print technology. Just dead words, like little butterflies pinned onto panels waiting for someone to breathe life into them again reenacting the whole solar god resurrection motif.

I thought dubbing/mixing prerecorded sound could go no further than its grapholect equivalent, but I was wrong. "...and to think I ever hesitated." Doing it live changes everything.

This one has real presence. Thanks for allowing the download before deleting it!

You must remind me sometime of the writer you mention who was always re-writing the last line..

Especially after reading Micheal Crichton lol
"Books aren't written- they're rewritten. Including your own. It is one of the hardest things to accept, especially after the seventh rewrite hasn't quite done it."

That's me...

I really like your interpretation there, about the dead butterflies... To take that further, I always revel on the idea that ideas are just dead thoughts. Our mouths express lost time. Everything is fleeeeeeting you know?!

Hah, Yeah man... Sean I love you. lol You get it.

I don't think I do tho unfortunately.....
only in brief spurts of beauty.
