Whoa man. Great drum work. I noticed you usually have some real solid drum work. Is this you playing live?

God,...this is like one long ass intro bro. Im still waiting for the badassness to kick in.

10 secs left,.....and its wind. lol

Dude I can hear some much shht going on with this in my head.
Really great base to work off.

Kinda like having an awesome plate but no food.

I know you could f*ck this all up with some guitar man. ( In a good way that is)

Makes me wanna take a stab at it myself. (not an obligation! lol)

Damn,...I just wrote a ton of shht. (after work first buzz of the day)

wow seriously!?

I could export everything and send... in fact I will.
:)

umn.. But I do plan on adding some variations on the drums tomorrow, also I am trying to get a little girl to sing "I want to live forrrrever" and then kinda lay that over on it...
I think it will add a very very very nice level of surrealism to the track?
But either way man, I will send what I have...
Getting the individual cymbal/hihat tracks and stuff can be done too, it's kinda been bounced down and down over and over lol

I described what I thought, here, but I think I should add, than the violin adds another dimension. Damage, I can not comment better, on the comparison ....

That is beautiful... I had not thought of that.

In a way.. Life is scarce? We have so much.
SO to live forever is something people want.
But in that we take and take and TAKE and TAKE AND TAKE. Damage. Wow. Thank you!
And holy crap man, happy birthday!!!!!!!
:)

Definitely going to look into your work later.
I appreciate the comments greatly.
(I am glad you do not think I am terrible at the violin) lol

heh, I was all the way in this one when I saw yer review, and I was like DAMNIT!!! I hoped he would get to hear the string work I did!!
lol

Yeah I just spent all day playing this effing piece of crap violin, and I am soooo rusty.. Man I really need to get back to BASICS man.
sigh

Definitely twilight yea.... it's weird.. that's actually probably my favorite instrument, a Fender Rhodes.
It was a toy developed by this injured soldier during world war II.
I find it very visceral as a mallet/organ instrument. And to everyone else, they think smooth/jazz/pretty lol
While I think in my head Anger/Rage/Revenge.
Weird.
Anyway

Yeah, thank you man, I have been getting back in the zone a little... I just updated it with a cool middle-eastern toned string section in C ionian.

Been saving reviewing this track for hours now. This review will mark my 3000th review on looperman (minus all the reviews that have disappeared because users deleted their profiles, etc). Anyways, though I'd give the honour to you. I must say you know your stuff and this track demonstrates it in spades.

Keep bringing on great music

All The Best

Holy crap!!!!

That .... is Eshars record lol.

Awesome!
(Virtual hi-five!)

I will try... I swear I feel ... lately that I am married to music and it's getting a little stale in the bedroom lol

Totally random, I was trying to make a track using the sounds of the galaxy.. then I found this and I can't sleep lol

I am honored for the review!

I agree with Eshar. Less is more. ;-) Sounds more complete. Has a real nice flow to it. Cool beginning! Love how you break it up with the rhodes organ and then introduce a new beat. That beat goes really well with the organ! Nice creative track. Gonna Fave this one!

Later,

Hehe, thanks!... Grrrrr tho as well.. Cause I had this opened up like right now right now.. and I am feeling kinda ... indifferent about it.

I am going to do an orchestra at the end, as long as I can figure out the key modulation...

I swear I would probably be better off as a studio musician than an artist lol...

But anyway... ... I think I am about to throw the kitchen sink at this one lol

Experimental music, very well done, with passages of intense and profound (the drums) .... I like this atmophere that you created. It's really good ....

Thank you VickyDan!
Yeah, I gots blisters on my fingers (not from playing guitar but clumsly smashing my fingers against the snare drum lol)

I updated it with a middle-eastern string section that I chopped up playing a crappy violin.

Hey Abe....man you are getting so good at the drums you have been working on.....almost a drum solo in its own right

really catchy chilled melody, but those drums certainly bring it to life

BTW great name for the track too

Hey thanks Damien! Yeah... man... I am in no way done, this will probably be an ongoing thing.. I plan on even redoing the drums a bit, and maybe looking at the key and try and switch it up.

I have a lot of commercial obligations at the moment that keeps me really tied up, but this one just kinda speaks to me...

I do want to state for the record the drum idea actually came from ableton, but I completely re-interpreted it! I have been practicing my ass off tho, so thank you thank you thank you!!! lol

I REALLY need to stop by man, it's been waaaaay to long.

Firstly, I'm not a big fan of metal. I don't "hate it", but I don't really listen to it either and have never felt the urge to. Secondly, I'm an even lesser fan of people mixing genres like dubstep and dnb with metal [it's done way more with dubstep of course]. Thirdly, I liked this.

The reason the third point contradicts the first two, well especially the second, is because this is an example of how it SHOULD be done. When I say I'm not a fan of people mixing dubstep/dnb with metal, I don't mean I'm against the "concept" of it. That would just be silly and close minded. What I am against is the mostly horrific execution, because 99% of these mash-ups take the worst, most base aspects of both genres and just throw them in a blender with no sense of how they fit together....something which you, thankfully, have not done, and this is why I liked this.

As far as specifics go - the drums are insane, the riffs are all over the place in a good way [ie it never comes close to becoming monotonous] and sound great, and the mastering sounds fine to these ears. The only thing I missed was a sub to hold up the DNB end of a dnb-metal combination, but then I can't imagine if there was any room for that...or my headphones just didn't pick it up.

Man I remember myself and a few mates hitting a pub on the outskirts...we took over the jukebox...we decided what was gonna get played lol until a group of metal head bikers passing through gatecrashed the pub...big hairy dudes lol...so one of them proceeded to the jukebox and we gladly stepped aside...thinking we were gonna get bombarded by death metal music grabbed our coats...man we were so wrong, they were pumping out Aphex Twin, drum and bass music....we proceeded to get drunk with them lol

So yeah to conclude..metal heads got good tastes...man I have heard this before and its still wicked...awesome fusion of sounds combining to make a solid track...nice come down outro...serenity in death??

Yes thank you! Hey man, make more music!! I miss yer style lol

ahh, but to explain further, at the time that I wrote this, I was just getting thru the first few months of being offa the hard drugs, so in a way, it was the death of certain attributes, ideas, and habits. Me dropping the bottle and running and the beast in the background?... yea kinda stupid and cheesy lol.. but it meant a lot to me at the time?..

OH, btw,.. Something that I have been struggling with, and I know I kinda fell off there for a bit (i do often lol) but you know.. I really miss how you get people together and create music-- you know?.. With this whole digital thing.. I am getting very frustrated, because .. I already KNOW how everything is going to sound, or how I want it too... I really miss the live synergistic context .. jamming man...

Loops and collabs here and there are really all I am truly interested in lately.

And to think anyone ever thinks I tend to mash too much together! It's about outcomes, isn't it? Symbolically speaking - for the Buddhists it's the Empty Glass and for the Qabalists it's the Full One. All roads lead to Dali's Museum.

Glad to see someone helping Dad (Metal) and Mom (DnB) see the divorce wasn't really necessary.

I always loved this track brother... nice to see you finally going back and getting the final touches done...

for me I'm think it's a little muddy on the drum side but knowing you ...you already know that..that kick needs to come up in the mix and the snare needs to be sharper like a knife edge..ya know?

I'm not sure but maybe cut some off the top end of the drum track might go towards fixing that...

those guitars scream and growl like a caged panther being poked with a stick and those glitches only add to the power of that..

I can't help the feel that maybe the use of a kinda hammond sound might add something else to the high end once the high end is cut off the drum track thus fill the hole...ya know?

anyway I finish this with how I started it...

I always loved this track brother and the good news is I still do ...

Keep 'em coming brother

This is the kinda review I really neeeeed.

Yea.. I really really messed up on this man! I started finalizing things.... and this was before I was smart about how I labeled my stuff.

I know that we have had that dialogue going on.. But if I do anything else like this in the future, I would prefer to try and work with you?

We could share rights on the drums, I could do some metal riffage, you do the sickassbass you always do?
Hopefully get in an argument.
Start a huge brawl.
Then there's a legal issue... but after a short respite, and a tall 32 oz styrofoam cup of red wine we come to terms and create an even heavier track than this lol

I need to just ... start cleeeeeean!!!! arglol

Lol you mixed the good ol' metal with chrystal clear, digital sounds. the riffs are sweet, also the arrangement. but it doesn't sounds like metal anymore... more like a track from need for speed. ;D
But that's what happen, if many people work on a track, it gets from everybody a you can hear everybody of you guys speaking out of this track. ;)
great job! :)
