on Guitar and Piano soothing tune by DanielGtrman
Hi Daniel,

I am here as I said I would be checking out your 12 string acoustic song, but I did review that one awhile back. Thanks for mentioning it as a reminder.

This piano/guitar tune is very nice and I like the sound very much.
I suppose the only thing that could make it better would be the addition of string section. But sometimes a piano, and or guitar all by itself, just sounds so good....as this does.

Learning Cubase eh? I never tried that one as I use Pro Tools...and that was a bear. A good 6 month learning curve as I never used music software before. Good thing it came with hands on video....plus now many more are available here and there by different authors. Just so much you can do with these top programs today.

Good job.... bye for now,
Randy

Hi Randy. Thanks for giving this track a listen and review. As I understand it is Pro-Tools a Mac-only software thing or is it available for the more common PC...?...and it seems you're into all things 12 at the minute. 12 string electric guitars and 12 hour nights !! Maybe the next thing in the natural progression of things would be for you to write a song called "twelve"..lol. take care man.

A real emotional track. Makes me sit back & soak it all in. The strings and piano go very well together. Could see this in a movie. Great Work!!

Dan this is a great piece of work... You could have fooled anyone saying this is your first non-guitar work...(except we can see all your postings..lol) Seriously, excellent work.. i think im gonna follow your example and try something new...
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
thanks for your review and giving this track a blast. Glad its inspired you to try something new. In fact, I know a drummer who wasn't so good at drumming then tried his hand at the base guitar and found that was his "thing". Trying new things can sometimes be just what we need...

Good track. Very chilled out...very relaxing. Piano and guitar fit very well together. I don't know what else to say about this..it's a pretty perfect track!

thanks for the review, appreciated. Still working on aspects of my new software and stereo placement is one of them, hence one of the guitars sounds full-right.

on Guitar and Piano soothing tune by DanielGtrman
Another awesome track. I like the second guitar it probably my favorite thing about it. It also ends very well. I think the first guitar would sound better if it wasnt panned all the way to the right. Thats just my opinion though. But besides that I think this is pretty fantastic. Good job.
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
thanks for the listen and the review. I agree with you about where to pan the guitar; I try to get the guitar more central but the combination I have of soundcard + software means 1st audio track always pans extreme right. still trying to find a solution. Glad you liked the music I made. thanks again.

Amazing collaboration here! The mix is really delightful - great rhythms, separation between tracks/sounds, and a sonic spectrum that both makes you want to move and close your eyes and zone.

Truly epic.

I'm glad this track hits you that way. when Jan first sent me this it blew me away so I gotta give him the credit. As I said before, this track ought to have gone on his page as he did the hard work at producing this master-class sound.

on Piano & Cello (new midi piece) by DanielGtrman
Love it love it love it! I cant express how much I absolutely LOVE the piano on this piece. It sounds like something I would absolutely have a blast playing. For your "first dive" into classical I think you did a tremendous job and you nailed it. The cello does the piano well. It definitely conveys raw emotion. Thats what I like in my peices. This is awesome fantastic. Keep up the good work. Your talented. Mad props ! ! ! ! ! !
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
WOW - an amazing review!! On a technical level there are a few things that need tidying up with the sound/playing..a bit too "midi" on cello, but in musical terms I wanted the emotion to come across and it seems from your point of view I have achieved that.. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and review.

I often listen to your track "Differences" which I love and even if this one is different,it still has this flow and emotion.Agree with Scriptique about the cello but the track is great.

What talent! I play guitar but could never get that pure acoustic sound like you have. Sounds live. Very entertaining.... C69

thanks for the review. I use electro-acoustic guitars as I find its a "background noise" free solution to recording, and I get a good acoustic sound that way..with a few additives.

on Piano & Cello (new midi piece) by DanielGtrman
I really like it! It flows well and the tune is very calming. If I may, I think you should add more dynamics to the cello as it sounds too midi.

Otherwise it's really good, especially for a "first dive into classical"! Can't wait to hear the polished version!
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
I wondered who might give this track a review. I should have guessed the "hyper-classical" composer would be the first to get there..thanks for listening and reviewing. I agree with you about the cello sounding too midi, in fact the higher the note the faster the vibrato, and the opposite applies also..working on it (slowly)..

I thought this was really cool. Really reminds me of a band called The Montgolfier Brothers. Their albums have little acoustic pieces here and there and this really sounds similar. Check them out! Very nice.

on Techno-Beckno by DanielGtrman
Play 2 now...
There was a part of the beat that sounded like it was just a little outta sync (the click-pop sounding one). It kinda reminds me of when I'm playin with the metronome on. Beyond that this track was really put together well. Though I wonder where the Guitar parts were here (scratches head). Anyways, nicely done guys! Later on.
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
Thanks DV for giving this track a listen and review. No, the guitar part was in my original mix I sent to Jan which, by comparison, sounds like I used my son's Bontempi or something... regarding the click-pop sound being slightly out of sinc. that's something Jan will have to comment on as he did the mix and work on this one.

So you have Belgian roots? great to hear that, Kortrijk is a very nice place to visit in Belgium. A small world yes indeed!

pretty neat work, sounded to me like david gilmour on guitar at times. i think u cud
have mixed it up with the drums, its just a bit too long with that same rn'b drum loop
in my opinion. cool track nevertheless!
DanielGtrman

Good point about mixing it up a bit. for a quick recording I stick the drum loop on and add my guitars, but given more time I will do what you suggest. Sounds like you have a good ear for production...thanks for reviewing anmd listening to this track.
