on Piano + lead guitar blues fusion idea by DanielGtrman
This is a nice track... very reflective or pensive like you said.. is that a real piano? or a keyboard.. cause it sounds great.. i don't play piano but i sat at a friends place and hammered out some of the few chord shapes i knew... sometimes you just hit something... thats what i think happened to you on this one....anyway take care and keep on creating... you creator you!!

Its a synth patch with Eq up and limited to even off notes when sustained, so you get this big chordal sound with notes that seem to hang for a long time. and yes it was a jam with a few minor 7th chords and inversions going down the keys. Thanks again for your regular listening and reviewing of my tracks

i listen to it ... and i loved it!! the backdrop sound at the beginning really sets it up good... funny if that would have been a little different you could have called it something else.. Definately chill out music... great job once again!

Sometimes sounds spark off a few ideas when played, and I discovered the 2 synth sounds on some new software I got. thanks for the listen and review

Thanks Antoine for the listen and review. Music we "connect" with is in the soul, not only in the ears.

I thought so too when I first heard it when Jan (Aidens Trance) sent me this track so the credit has to go to him.

on No Solution by DanielGtrman
hey man theres always a good tune in every musician but if you are gonna purge your ideas onto the worlds ears you should give yourself a metronome to follow the hip hop beat so that your transitions and rythym is moving the your audience ( you hafta make them move )thus a steady rythym , you will have an awesome sound that could be applied to any drama
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
Thanks for the listen and review with the good advice. Drums and rhythm are something I'm working on at the moment.

thanks again for the listen and review. I hope to be getting some good drum loops soon which should sort out my drumming problem. Another problem I got is when I use MIDI (aargh..hate midi) with acoustic sounds. It don't matter what programme I use I get glitch sounds....working on it.

WOW - your review of this track of mine has got to be some sort of record. I only uploaded it 2 minutes ago !! Sorry about the sound levels being low, I did this to minimise those annoying blips and clicks. When I get those sorted I will upload again with better sound levels. Thanks again for your review.

on You & Me by DanielGtrman
hey there!

i have to say i really enjoyed this piece...i particularly think you did a great job with the lead guitar...both in execution and sound-wise...and yes! that's a very beautiful ambient harmony you found, and very well blended with those eventual strange notes on your lead guitar...
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
thanks for the review Miots-Man ! any track coming from me will always have "strange notes" in it...lol...

on Never Quite Seen by DanielGtrman
wow that is my kind of descrip. this is so nice. where's bigfoot? i just see the soft winged sound of strings soaring low through the forest, and it's beautiful. lovely work. it almost sounds just shy of breaking into the "battle of evermore". lovely!
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
It's amazing how music stirs the imagination..I can "see" what you mean about the winged sound of strings, sort of eagle in effortless flight. thanks again for another kind review.

on Piano & Cello (new midi piece) by DanielGtrman
That is some seriously inspired/inspiring piano work there, and honestly I think the midi cello is great in this particular context. It offers a sort of balance in an overall sense that I feel would be felt if it wasn't there.

And hey, isn't it a tradition in Chinese art to put a piece of imperfection in specifically to nod at human production?

I really dig this one. Well done indeed.
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
I didn't know about the chinese art tradition of putting a piece of imperfection in to show it's human after all ...lol...thanks for the listen and a very enlightening review. I guess you could compose a track called "Chinese Art" and put some glaring errors in it. (Actually it would make a great CD album title for me cause all my stuffs got errors in it....ah...the human touch...

on 2 Guitar Folky Shuffle by DanielGtrman
This has the feel of an all out jam! Very cool interplay between the two guitar parts. This has a tinge of sadness to it, which is okay. I really like what you've accomplished with this track!
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
Thanks for the listen and kind review. I had struggled to give this one a title and could only come up "2 guitar folky shuffle" but as you rightly said there is that tinge of sadness in the tune and usually comes about when my emotions came into play when composing. Thanks again...

on Rock can so easily turn into Blues.. by DanielGtrman
I've heard Anomaly's version of this on several occassions now, and I'm really enjoying hearing it in its original context. And you're right - in terms of the emotional pull of the sounds here, this is truly The Blues. Nice one.

on Rock can so easily turn into Blues.. by DanielGtrman
Nice song. A really listenable ride. "I need a good multi-input to USB if there is such a thing, or maybe some kind of multi-input soundcard..." I've had that same problem with recording my guitar, and I've found a mixer, with pre-amps, effects and USB output- the Alesis Multimix 8. its reasonably priced, and gets good reviews. hoping that will fix my recording probs...
DanielGtrman
DanielGtrman replied Unknown
Thanks for the listen, review and the good advice. I will be checking out that Alesis gear, I once used some in a recording studio many moons ago (90's) and was very impressed then so I reckon the've improved even more
