Very good creative hypnotic tune. My only suggestion is to take the reverb off of the voice and bring it up in the mix with a bit of compression. and maybe a slight bouncing ball delay. and I think it will really shine.
I liked it
Cru
I am not realy sure how the vocals will sound at the end but i know that i will change them for sure. I realy realy hate the way they sound right now. Me system was so fucked up when i made them and my mic worked so bad that i had done the vocals in 10 little parts. You can hear that if you listen closely and they where so noisy that i could vomit :) ....
Right now i have a little better system and a better mic and a pre amp and so on, so that the vocals can be recorded in one go and with much less noise. And then i haven't to use all this EQ and reverb and stuff to let them sound at least a little good.
So i am 100% at you when you say that they need some work.
Good to know that you think that the rest of the song is something good and maybe will be something special when the vocals where worked out a little better.
Thanks for the listen and the nice words and for your suggestion on how i should use the vocals when they are made new.
Always nice to get some ideas from someone like you.
This is a very cool track Joe,has an almost locomotive groove to it.The voices sound real good and the production is big,the industrial tones towards the end are a clever insertion.Minimal is the winner here!
Nice to see you right here. That means that you found some time to go to my track side, cause this one wasn't set on featured when you listen to it :) thats cool.
Good to know that you could enjoy the listen to this one and that you believe that the sound of the voices and synth work is well made and choosen.
Thanks a lot for your friendly words and the time you invest.
Thanks Karl for your words.
Being unique is something i realy enjoy to read from listeners of my music.
It is not easy to do something same like befor for me but who knows maybe i am able to do some that is close to this
Hi Joe,
Good to hear this!
I watched the pictures of the observer... the first one is my favorite. And I think it describes well the mood of this track: a bit uneasy, with a touch of "real madness". Good!
Definitely you are not a boring artist.
Thanks for sharing your music with us!
Ciao, Domenico
PS: the German parts make the song even more "edgy"
Good to know that you think that i don't make boring stuff
and also nice to know that you could enjoy, in a way, the observers to this track.
When i was working on this one i had the idea to mix the english and german parts every line but the sound of this two different parts are to different (in my ears) and so i did it in that way you found it here.
And, not you have to thank me that i share this stuff with the comunity, i have to thank you and the rest of the comunity that you take some time and listen to my kind of music.
Comments like yours are the reason why i share my art.
The names are getting bigger, that's the reason why I get almost a little scared. Bowie, Eno and now Reed, wow. I really like all three and it may well be that they have me secretly influenced. To create extraordinary is and remains my goal. And it looks as if I had some success :)
This is very trippy and hypnotic. Your voice really grounds the madness. It's obviously not recorded with the best microphone, but it somehow works! I like how your tracks never sound the same, there's always something enigmatic about them. I enjoyed this very much.
Thanks TA for your friendly words.
Always nice to know that there are people around who listen to my music and like the way i do my stuff.
Sounds maybe a bit strange but i never own any good instrument or mic or recorder or computer or or or . I call myself the real low teck man but now, after 35 years of makeing music, i think i should invest just a few euros into a better mic :)
I am the wild warrior and i fight for a genre free world :)
Nice to hear something from you centralsdev.
I still try to do just things. I never try to do things in a way like befor.
Sometimes it works better then on others but i still try to do different things :)
Nice to know that you can enjoy my songs with a smile on your face. Cause then it looks like i have done it right.
I can see your Observer warriors dancing around a blazing fire in a ritual dance, surrounded by others on the djembes. Dan likes cannibals, they clubbed him a few years ago in Dark Ritual, then had him for dinner. Said he tasted like chicken. Maybe this is the same tribe. I need a better mic too! I don't have much noise problem as I record vocals/spoken word at work with no one around in a quiet enviroment. I use Izotope rx3 for noise removal. Audacity works too but I find it damages the audio. Sounds good though. I have a boiling murder that never got used, maybe the cannibals get a hold of you ;)
Nice to know that you could see the observers dancing around :)
Mostly i ignore noise a lot but on vocals noise isnt easy to handle .... but maybe some day i have some better sutff .....
Like always Phatkatz- i enjoyed your comment
Thanks for your time
you have good control over your voice, Joe. The voice adds a unique color and mood to your tracks and humanizes the track. The sounds are cool and the mix is sweet. always enjoy your stuff. best wishes - Dan
Maybe i have some control over my vce but i have no control over all the noice around me and i just dont have a good mic. So i know that my voice could sound much better :)
Good to know that you could enjoy the mix and the choosen sounds
Thanks for your listen and the comment

PS: i made a few paintings with the name - observer -
i think they fit in a way to the track. You can watch 2 of them. I will post the others later.
Hello Joe,
Wow, this track is very mysterious and delightful at the same time.
Of course your voice is adding to that mystery.
Great job my friend.
Jamid
Thanks Jamid,
for this gentle comment.
Always good to know that you could enjoy the listen.
"mysterious and delightful" sounds like the wild warrior already got you :)
Oh yeah, merry metal christmas Joe :D I like the punk christmas theme hahaha Was this when the thinking Zombie was trying out for the Misfits but went to the Undead instead?
That may well be.
I can not remember exactly.
Those were hard times back then.
Many crazy people went there, where I lived, in and out.
There really were gloomy figures below.
Some of them were so dark that you could see them almost not at night.
Others were so confused that they claimed they were quite vampires and would equal going to suck blood.
Still others were running around to convince the world that they had seen the light.
And others knew exactly that it was all just made of plastic.
The remainder was assumed that the others were all mad because they took the wrong drugs.
The owner took care neither in the one nor in the other group, but was completely off track. He told anyone who would listen whether or not that everyone and everything was against him and why he was about innocent. Without interruption, 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
I lived there and had some sort of front-row seat to the madness of the Western world of the 90's.
I would not even be surprised if the thinking zombie was infected in this wild place.
Nice long organ intro. Deep Purplish in some ways. Good tune. Hey Joe, can you sing an octave higher. I think if you do this towards the end you would make a stronger vocal statement. Otherwise nice work my friend.
Cru
Dont know why but i was sure that the intro had to be that long. so it is nice to know that you liked it that way.
I have the feeling that i should re record the compleete vocals cause i know that i could sing them better. And if i do so then i will test it with an octave higher at the end. And maybe i can ask Phatkatz to do a 2. rythem guitar.
What i realy would like to insert was a female choir but i dont have any female choir around :)
https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/172354 also shared it on fb chat with you. All the info is in the zip folder regarding key/bpm. Dl'd those plug ins :D I love that retro sound! Let's make a few :D
Hey Burt,
i am already working on one cool idea but i got a little time problem :) ..... between wakeup and comming back home from work there are almost 14 hours :( and then i have to do some "homework" with my daugther ..... but i can work a little on it later in the evening.
So it will be a moment to finished it.
Love the hammond organ playing! I was wondering what you used to get that sound. I was born in '77 but sometimes I think that's wrong hahaha I'm really a hippie. Just recorded something this morning, I'll send it and upload it here as is if anyone else wants to join in. Even used my black and white squire and with single pick ups and squire 4 string bass to keep it retro :D Yes, squires, since I see no point in spending outrageous amounts of money on a single guitar! I know we can't change the world alone but at least we can express our thoughts/feelings to the world and try and offer peace through music. Music brings people together. If we could all just embrace each others differences absolutely amazing things could be accomplished!
Reminds me of being a kid when the first gulf war started, my brother ran into my parents room and hid next to the bed scared to death that scud missles were falling on us, but we're in USA! I'd like to do more of these with you Joe :D Powerful concept, love the lyrics. I was listening to this at work tonight. I can't even imagine the fear those poor people in the war zone are suffering through, what a mess...
Lets colab a little more!
I love your guitar recordings a lot and i am sure that we can do something good together. And at the same time i can improve my hammond organ play style :) a little bit .....
Send me some recorded stuff and i will see what i can do :)
Live from Fillmore West - I was expecting the baseline from 'in a gadda da vida' after the intro. It works - needs a little beef here and there but you definitely captured the vibe. Good Outro. kudos.
-clindsay
This is realy the first try for me to do some 60's stuff/sound and i maybe realy was in a way in an Iron Butterfly mode :)
It looks like i will do a new colab with Phatkatz and this time we both know that we wanna do something in this special style. I wonder how that will sound :)
This is awesome Joe! I was wondering how that was working out. Retro as hell for sure! It's like a vietnam protest song, only this time we'd be protesting isis. Killing each other solves nothing... Love it! I have more unfinished retro type jams, I'll have to share, maybe we can make some more like this! One of my favorite eras in music. So much soul and emotion went into the music of that time, with the turmoil going on the world then and now... :D
Hey Burt, nice to know that you like it. 'Cause i changed a little your stems :) but it looks like that it fits mostly.
Cool that you understand exactly what i had in mind while making this one. I believed that the stems needed something like this. I am born in 1965 and all the "great" boys listend to this kind of music. I realy like the music from the 60's a lot, 'cause it is almost the first "cool" music i could listen to. But when the NDW (new german wave) starts i couldnd stop listen to and the 80' will be my favorit times :) for ever i think .......
Very enticing rhythmic and lyrical structure in this song! I dig it so much! Seems like some sort of brain manipulation in the intentions here, at least to my brain. Fun and frightening at the same time, just like most excellent artistry. That big "splat" drum definitely takes control, but it works well. Great track from beginning to end! Fave!
:) Brain manipulation sounds good. And i think i know what you mean. This one manipulates also my brain. Sometimes i hear child voices and beautiful easy melodies while listen to the track. And sometimes the universe is the "normal" one and at the next time it change to a kind of a "dark" universe ......
I realy enjoyed your comment Spiv, so much gentle words. Thanks a lot for them and also thanks for the fav.
Man, I really like this. And I think your zombified description is perfect. That heavy drum, oh yeah. That deep Germanic chanting, oh yeah. It's heavy, eerie, powerful and strangely beautiful. The only thing is I wish the lowest-volume chant was a bit louder in the mix, and wish the whole thing was louder. So actually I downloaded the mp3, uploaded it into Audacity and hard-limited and amplified the crap out of it, for my own head-banging pleasure. When I did so, I found that it's sort of like a trap beat and calls on me to sing some lines over the music in certain places. Which I just might do...
for this realy gentle comment. Always nice to know that there are people who like some of my stuff. Good to know that you enjoyed it so much that you dl it and remasterd :) it.
To be honest, i am not realy happy with the volume of all the voices in the mix in this mp3 and i will work on that a little more.
If you realy wanna do something to/with this track and need some stems of it, just PM me and i will see what i can do for you
Nice to hear that you think you could use it and also good to know that you found this track scary but awesome.
