https://www.reverbnation.com/joecramer/album/117064-joe-and-burt-behind-the-sky

All other stuff from me you can find there also and sure the most newer tracks also here on looperman.

I am also not really sure where my influences came from but some of them sure from the 80' and from dark wave, ebm, punk, ndw .... :)

Yaay! Another Cat \(^._.^) Wasn't it you that did a song for the LZA sometimes they come back, well.... Then I shot you when you turned hahaha. So many tracks could be linked together in a huge story from these stories. We need a good video maker to make us a movie. I think I shared the Bayou Blues stems with you, and have more blues in various stages as well as more coming almost daily, I'll share too. Google translate sucks, I couldn't write a description in another language if one of my 9 lives depended on it. I think Brado's description nailed it with the dreamy surreal feeling. It's kind of like seeing the world from the other side of the veil. You should've hunted down the devil and stole his fiddle made of gold! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6RUg-NkjY4 Always a pleasure Joe. Dan asked for a country type tune, that's how this came about. I still want to try photo shopping those braids onto him LOL!LOL!! Hoping to make my own violin/fiddle soon. Looked up rosin for the bow string, very cheap, as well as the materials I can't scavenge. I just need to select a box.
joecramer
joecramer replied 22nd Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
You know that i already made this "head movie" for the LZA.
Maybe we should start a new "movie" about dark and deadly things ..... and you are right, a videomaker would be a cool thing.

I still love the blues and will soon start working on something. Lets see what you have for me.

I dont know why but i am sure that playing Violine will not be that easy then playing a cbg ..... but blame me and show me what kind of cool Violine player you are :)
Dan will looking awesome with that braids
Our Burt and Joe behind the sky album get filled up with lot of different things man. I really enjoy this collabs with you

BTW i had this golden Violine already in my hands but it is much to heavy to handle it in a good way. So i gave it back and got a new handfull of lifes for it ..... :)

I am like a cat :)
Once i am dead i just take one of the left life's i have.
And sure it is true, cause you know that the Devil owns all the things you need for good music - sex and drugs and rock'n roll :) ..... ok, i am a little liar cause i only was dead but i didn't meet some of the "big bosses" there. Maybe they only chill out with you when you stay a little longer.

Good to read that you think the music sounds good.

Definitely gloomy but the guitar really has a unique sound to it that really sets the emotion :D Really feels like the dead are playing the song haha. The way the song kinda swings in and out of time really adds that dreamy, preternatural element to the song. Great number!

Not the usual Cramer sound as you said. But you made a nice nostalgic track which is really telling a tale. I have favoured it on the link and hope you are able to win. I also agree to use some guitars in it. That would give a real fusion of different genres to the table. Nice to see you are experimenting.

To me this is an interesting juxtaposition of american blues and european accordion that would make an awesome intro to a heavy thrash metal tune. If you keep going with the chord changes as heavy guitar riffs and add some blast drums this could become a very interesting song.

Sound like a plan :p I'll work on it a bit and send you something a couple days. Maybe your blues lyrics will get used after all. Do you listen to heavy metal while playing with heavy metal? ;) Don't you love when plans change and the songs take control hahaha Accordion has a cool sound, I think I have an accordion vst but not that one. Watch for more unusual instruments in the future. There's so many I'd like to try but the price is too much so why not build cigar box versions :D Slide ukelele sounds like a good idea! Maybe a violin too. I saw plans for making a rawhide bow for use on a violin/cello. I've seen a homemade cigar box (maybe not a cigar box but a big box) cello!

Nice that you think that it is a great extra listen :)

You can find it in the new Magix Music Maker 2016
There is a free trail version out, so you can check it out by yourself. It has also a synth that called Vita2 and makes excellent guitar sounds.

Always nice to know that there are people around here who also like unusual music.

Love what you did with that loop! It's has a world music sound, the accordion with the cigar box guitar. I think it fits the picture well, she does look like you ;) Love the added depth music can add to pictures. I downloaded plans for a russian folk instrument, a balalaika, that be fun to try and make. I have a few more cbgs in the works and started my first full sized regular electric guitar YAAAYY! It's shaped like a coffin. Beautiful day today so I'm trying to get things cut outside and glued. Did you start on your guitar build? Fav'd here and on audiosparks. Great to hear music played on not so common instruments and that loop was useful! I started something with it just haven't gotten back to work on it anymore. Not sure if I already have a copy of this but downloading and adding to my player now.
joecramer
joecramer replied 8th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
Nice to read that you liked what i had done to/with your loop :) cause the accordion improvisation changed your loop completely.

When i watched this pic the first time i had that strange feeling that i know here really well. like a little sister or a loved one from another life. There where a kind of relationship between us both......

No i didn't start this "self made metal guitar project" right now, cause i worked all the last weeks only with real big and heavy metal stuf. I had/have to cut and saw and work out and weld more then 50 tons of square tubes. That is much to much "heavy metal" for me right now :)

Around 36 years ago i had some lessons for 6 month on accordion and then almost 1 year in clarinet, so i am not really new in using not so common instruments. (but i wasn't any good in both)

To be honest, i grabed your loop to do a cool blues track and i had already some lyrics for it and so on and then the accordion came and i couldn't stop .... so maybe we should do a colab on your blues project to finish the first idea that i had :)

Nice to know that you will place this little track on your player, cause i love it to know that people listen to my music outside of any music sides in/on the internet.

So thanks for the listen, the fav's and the dl and your comment

Yo, Joe.

This is some good rocking stuff, with a solid mix.

A bit of an 80s vibe to it (so, maybe a little like The Cult) but that's not a bad thing.

Vocals sound good and I like the reverb but I wonder if there is maybe a bit too much reverb.

Some of the guitar riffs are cool and I can't hear that any virtual guitars are being used.

1:41 nice long, sustained notes. I guess this is Phatkatz's solo. Very nice, fluid playing. A well structured, simple solo and then we're back to the vocals.

Even though it's your vocals in German, the music doesn't sound particularly German though it's hard to explain why.

I guess there's a bit of an industrial vibe as well.

I like the toms and the snare drum, which also sounds a lot like a tom.

Maybe the track could be 1 min shorter but it's not a big deal.

Cool, sustained guitar note right at the end!
joecramer
joecramer replied 5th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
Thank you for this friendly comment StaticNomad.

That it sounds a bit like 80's is just because i am from them.
You may be right if you think it is a little to much reverb in the vocals but i think it is not much to much :)

The virtual cords from Vita2 sounds really close to real guitars. And with some amp effects they sound even better.

Phatkatz did a good job and played some cool stuff to the track.

Intressting thing that you think the music sounds not german, cause i thought the music sounds (like the vocals) very german.

You know that i am in love with industrial and dark electronic stuff, so it doesn't wonder me to much that there is a kind of vibe of that into this one

There is only one place where i could cut of some of the music and that's at the end. So i thought everybody who needs a faster end could do that by himself :)

I was also really happy that Burt let the guitar stay until the sustain ended. so i could use it really in that way to end the track

Thanks again for your words

Love this. It's kinda like 80's power metal, with an industrial edge. The guitars sound pretty good considering they are synthesized, The added live guitar sections really give it some energy, Pkatz has done a wonderful job. The vox are great, could be a little louder in places, but they work well with the track nonetheless. Your work is coming along in leaps and bounds. Rock on m

Definitely a punk/rock vibe. This sounds really good properly mixxed :D I like the virtual guitars playing with the real guitars, makes them sound so real! I'll send you those basslines while I'm thinking of it. And I'm putting magix on a memory stick now to try out on my laptop!

Hey Burton
nice to read that you could enjoy the mixing of all the steems. I place the virtual ones a bit behind so that your guitars sounds a bit more on top. But you are right this virtual ones sound really not bad ...... Tell Bryan that i love the bass lines he made for the - nothing to fear track - and that i already used them in the Peter Pan track :) .... I hope you like the Magix one or lets better say i hope you can use it for your work.

Nice to know that you like what we did. One of the things that I have been missing since my absence is your unique sound, Joe! You always seem to create the weirdest tracks that always hit the nail on the head. Love the panning drums and saw synth that you use. Your vocals are mystical and give so much color. Great track again!

The vocals work for this song. Perfectly. Have a haunting sense of being covered (the low-quality mic) but it only adds to the trippy effect of the song and only makes it more trippy. Great work!! I really like the panning instruments. So soothing to my ears haha.

Very interesting soundscape that you created with your vocal recordings, and the minimal musical element is just right. I find this to be far more cinematic than most things classified as such here on Looperman, and that could possibly be due to my love of horror films. I did not read the words until after hearing your track. I felt that the song itself taken out of context was far more scary than the simple honest words that they were created from. I would love to make a "flick" some day, and if I ever manage to, I will search you out to help with the soundtrack! Super-fine stuff my friend! Fave!
joecramer
joecramer replied 16th Feb 2016 - 9 years ago
Thanks for your friendly words Spivkurl.
Like always i really enjoyed them. I loved horror films really much when i was younger and that may be the reason why this track sounds like it does.
After stopping the focus on the words itself i had to remove all the sounds that doesn't fit to the "feeling" of darkness and so every thing did go it way almost from alone. Just darker and darker ..... good to know that you believe that it is fine stuff.
I think it would be interesting to create a soundscape for an existing movie. So if you ever do something in that way just tell me and i would be happy to give it a try.
