A Biker You're Born, A Biker You'll Stay! (Lol! Love it!) Just a great job and wonderful musicianship by all participants involved. Definitely takes me back to the 70's psychedelic rock era. Conjures up movies like "Fritz The Cat", have I given away my age? lol, great song and Scott's vocal story telling style is great. Great music piece and certainly a instant fav for me.
That voice is pure gold and it alone should be earning you money. Advertising world ... documentary's voice over stuff whatever. People say money can't buy you happiness ... but what about bikes and beer?
I expect to hear this on the radio some time soon.
man....with a voice like that you can do any kind of song you want Scott...can`t be bought...either got it or you dont...certainly hear Franko`s signature in there too...I dont have 5.1..just listening with phones but it sounds really good..stay behind the windshield if you are riding our prairies later in the year...them grasshoppers are damn hard..haha....well done guys...another winner for sure...Ed
I thought I'd chime in and thank you personally for your kind words. I'm not exactly sure what I've 'got' except a decent speaking voice, but I can't really sing, but thanks anyway.
You don't really need a surround system, but it's nice when you can hear different instruments coming from different parts of the room. I mix on a stereo, though.
Song is great, but the mixing and production is a wow from me. Sax sounded like it was coming in from behind me at some points. All instruments were clear and perfectly mixed. The drums sounded awesome. Mix is as clear as some Yello albums I have heard.
Cru
Thanks alot, Cru. Scott mixed this track and he's been working with 5.1 surround sound within his Sonar DAW. We appreciate you mentioning this, since it let's us know we're on the right track.
The song is so upbeat, happy sounding and energetic and knowing something is wrong with Franco's health is making the dancing almost unbearable. ;) Hope you are well Franco!
Thanks so much, Wayne, and I'm sure Franco appreciates your best wishes. He's still recovering and even back to work (although not too happy about it!) Our projects may be slowing down, but we'll keep going as long as we can. Franco, Scott, Dan and I have a project about to begin in a couple days.
Really enjoyed these funky vintage sounds.Very refreshing to hear all real instruments on here, almost sounds like vinyl. The groove at the end is very surprising and could be a great main riff for another tune.
This is some amazing jazz, which happens to be right up my alley! I love the way this is recorded and mixed throughout! The mix has a very live feel... I mean if I move around, the speakers give me the impression that the band is staying put, and I'm moving about the room. I like that. Very sorry to hear about your friend and band mate. This is a good recording to remember him by. I guess the only thing which I could wish to be added to the performance is an organ, but that is only my personal obsession. Ha ha. Thank you for sharing this awesome piece! Fave!
Thank YOU, Spivkurl, for checking us out and leaving your kind words.
This was mixed in 5.1 surround sound, so that 'live feel' you're hearing may be a result of this. If you listen to it on a surround sound system, it is really noticeable. Thanks for mentioning this BTW. Nice to know it's being noticed.
Wow! What a beautiful way to pay tribute to a fellow musician,
So sorry for your loss and it appears that he was not only a great musician, nut also a wonderful friend. In terms of the track, I loved everything about it since I am a big lover of jazz. It has sort of an avant-garde feel to it, which is great. And all the musicians contributions on this collaboration are really top notce.
Thanks so much, Dennel. Really glad you like it and took time to comment.
I'm glad you noticed the avant-garde feel. I almost put this in the description, but wasn't too sure if many of the community would know what it was. The 'fusion' genre is many times incorrectly chosen for tracks here, so jazz descriptions are not well know.
So this is a hybrid of Disco (4 to the floor beat for the most part) and the occasional wakka guitar and a moving bassline, but the Robbie Robertson like vocal approach the guitar soloing (phenomenal) and the bluesy edge make me feel this is a less of a true "Disco" song so we will create a new Blues-Disco hybrid we will call Blissco from now on? See if that catches hold. Otherwise a magnificient listen and production was awesome. Fav'd for sure
Cru
LOL, his last name could be Dover, 'but that's all I know about him!'
Yeah, sometimes it's hard to select a genre with the limited selections here on LM. It's usually moot, anyway, because different people hear different things. When someone notices something, like you noticing the Robbie Robertson approach, I say, "yeah, it does sound like that." Midiman suggested Charlie Daniels, and it does sound a bit like him. I hadn't noticed either of these till it was mentioned. Funny how that works.
Anyway, thanks for your kind words; always appreciated.
I read that the vocal track was Scott and now I'm mad. He has been holding out by not singing earlier? ok, so he talking, lets not split hairs. ha
This is awesome guys! Great job Kenny, you rock! I like story songs and Scott did a great job telling one. The Sax, guitar and keys work so well together. Feels more like r and b and funk during the disco. The bass is the backbone to this one, as it should be!! The mix is always top notch.
Must have listened to this about 7 times, off to dl, thanks!
Yep, that's Scott! He's a bit self conscience about his vocalizing, but says he'll do more if it calls for it since it's gotten a good response on this one.
The guys all appreciate your always kind words. We're all setting up for our next track. Thanks again.
What a cool track...fun lovin criminals the name, appears til listening this funky groovy...awesome...Scott's speech/sing is very characteristic...all in all, high standard from the band...
Dang, that bass is FIRE! Fun listen. Absolutely adored the whole piece. Whose VOICE is that? so deep and intriguing. Great work on the production! Very professional throughout. Keys were a fun and attractive addition! Your new lead guitarist compliments the band beautifully as well.
Thanks so much, Brado. So glad you like it. The vocals is our drummer, Scott Burkholder. He can't sing, but he can talk, LOL! Yes, Kenny did a fine job first time with us.
I couldn't help but laugh at Ed's suggestion to have you guys and gals as his neighbor. He lives where it's cold though, it's sunny and warm here at the beach...just so you know.
It's really hard to put this in any particular genre, rock is generic but there are a few styles of music mixed together. I like the singing, a great strong vocal track. The guitar was interesting around 1:00, the clean rhythm and another guitar are playing some funky licks through that part. Around 1:45 the clean git does it again. Good to hear a gong now and then. :)
Doesn't matter the line-up, you folks always bring something worthy of praise. Excellent job by everyone!

PS: hard to pick a highlight here, perfect drums, beautiful vocals, wonderful guitar-solo, such tasteful sax ... simply perfect!
PPS: Franco, what have you used for the organ part?
the sound is so sweet...

Yes, the sax had a touch of delay and reverb.
