Man, too fun! I'm envious of these chiptunes. I so much want to have a go at it one of these days. Excellent work. I've heard a couple of chiptunes on the loop before but not quite like this. The others sounded like the were direct from my Nintendo 64 but this one clashes a bit with other genres. It sounds like a good song (pop?) that's been chiptuned, if that makes sense.

Love how you did this! Great work. I faved.

WOAH WOAH wait a minute, this track or melody hasn't been chiptuned from other songs(be it pop or dance).

I created this from scratch in Ableton Live.

Well I don't think it clashes with any other genres. Its basic and pure retro chiptune/8 bit music.Ofcourse there are many genres which use the 4/4 beat dance structure or a pop beat structure in a track to which it doesn't imply that genres have been mixed or clashed.

You can listen some chiptune tracks from SoundCloud or from Youtube to get more idea about this.

And really thanks for listening and favoriting the track.

I like this track
Very upbeat and musically cool
I agree that the mix is very "dry" right now but just a bit of FX here and there (not enough to take away it's 8bit charm)and this thing will really shine.
I'm lookin forward to hearing what you do.
Peace

Sounds like something straight from an old arcade shoot em up game or something. I like the fact that you kept it right back to basics with just all chip sounds. It's a clever piece and captures that retro sound just as it should be.
This takes me way back.

Hey fella a few things i would say to maybe look at.

The bass is out of key with the main chord riff in places and the hi hat sounds are not as good as the kick and the snare sounds. drums could use a little swing to make them shuffle a little better.

The drums are out of key with each other a little too, getting a kick thats in tune with your bass and then tuning all your drum hits to match the key of the kick can make a huuuge difference
Also some of the sounds come in a little hard/loud.

Good melodies and nice ideas I Really enjoyed the track. thank you for sharing.

Great track here man, I like the title of it too. Mix is on point, and the synths blend nice. The beginning synth gets a lil annoying after a while sometimes, it's not that intrusive though. Great arranging as well, see you around! peace

Indeed a good start! Very uplifting.

To my humble opinion, the track does build up in the correct order. I would maybe tale a little bit more time for it though. What you could try is to change the rhythm of the stabs a bit after 0:30. Rhythm of the hats is great. maybe you could put them somewhat louder and add an open one on every 2nd and 4th beat.

Last tip would be to add some pads in the background that fill up a whole in the frequency spectrum that I hear, somewhere in the low-mid range.

Definitely a track with potential. Curious for the end result.

Keep it going!

OK. Sorry, I understand you’ve got other things to do. It’s just frustrating sometimes when people don’t reply to quite detailed reviews. Or just reply with “Thanks for the comment”.

I’ve been trying to make a mental note of who it’s perhaps not worth giving a detailed review to. And a couple of people wouldn’t get a track review from me ever again after being far too rude, in very different ways.

Anyway, thanks for the review praise. I take my comments seriously and try to give appreciation for the hard work and passion that people have put in. Exactly what I do with my own music on a daily basis.

I’m not able to listen to the track right now (technical reasons) but will try to suggest something for the drums later, as this is a very important part of a track like this.

But it’s good work and you’ve got some interesting melodies and movement out of the main lead that I think goes a bit Celtic at times.

Hi. Solid beat to kick things off then some gentle pad work.

0:16 vowel melody sounds a bit odd. Just the sound, not the notes.

0:24 sound is much better.

0:39 new instrument that is a bit guitar-like in low notes I do like. Though you could maybe add a bit of quantise to give it more natural groove and feel. Sometimes it sounds a bit mediaeval, Celtic or folk.

It's a good sound and definitely a lot of movement in there so I can see why you find it very touching and revitalizing.

Nice conclusion and I think this works quite well at this length.

I think you could improve the drums so I might give some more detail if you reply to this. I don't think you always reply to my track reviews and suggestions.

Actually you are very right about the track. Plz do suggest about the beats and other parts aswell...
Again really really sorry..Now onwards reply to you is my priority.I think you can review my other house/progressice track too...

A very good start!
Not much to say other than that...a drop or two would be nice for the dynamics, some pads and risers...
It would be cool to hear the final result.

Good luck!

Thanks soo much.I want to take this track into progressive/trance and i'm working on it.Updated the track with a buildup. Will add some synths during the buildup and then after the drop will add some Hardwell or AVB type raw synth with modified melody of the chords. And then I will think of some beat variations and all.
How's the buildup..??And is the song structure i mentioned right..?? DO comment.
Thanks for the feedback.

I don't think that I particulaty miss vocals here although the insertion would be probably ok. I think this track can survive as a pure instrumental cause it's a solid piece with nice progression and cool dynamics...also the concept is very clear and convincingly developed...to sum it up - well done!

The beginnings of a real good song...Moves like ti wants to go somewhere...
A vocal would take it there...Not a vocal sample, it need some lyrics with harmonies and style, find a lady with a good voice...

Very Nice Track...Lots of good stuff...

Peace.....TG.

This is a great solid deep house track.

Reminds me of the song 'Your Love' by Mark Knight & Kylie Minogue.

This song is great, but would sound EXCELLENT with vocals.

Keep up the very good work!

Yeah, sweet track mate. Nice progression with the pads and synths. The lead is nice as well. Those rising pads are what really makes the tune though. It's got a real old school vibe to it which i always like.
Perhaps it would benefit from a vocal sample here and there but other than that it's a pretty solid track.
Cheers for sharing,

This has the makings of a great track but just over a minute and a half is an intro as far as i'm concerned.
The mix is good and so is the riff but it needs about another five or six minutes earn the title of a track.
Good stuff all the same.

Hi Advait07...I am not a good source of advice on the genre...but I think you are off to a good start and I notice that you have already received some useful comments & suggestions...I am always in agreement with those who suggest variation and structure in compositions as it tends to make the mix more interesting as listening music as well...good for you...keep it going...Ed

Hi,

Good stuff so far, I would like to see drums/kicks come in at around 0.10, the bass is a good touch and you can build on this. Try a bit more variance with the synths, some drops through the harpsichord synth would really make a difference. Look forward to the finished track. Good luck.

Best wishes,

Mark/Larry!

Hi again.

It's a decent basis for a house track even though it doesn't change much. But I guess you'll add that later.

Maybe try quantising your synth parts in different ways. I think they may be a bit straight and on the beat. Maybe try swinging or shuffling them a bit.

The thing that really caught my attention were the little bits of bass that came in towards the end. A bit offbeat and a nice counterpoint to the main synths. It made me think that you could bring in some fat triplet breakbeat drums rather than just the more predictable straight 4/4 house type of beats.

That's what I'd try to do but then I'm more into that than house.

Here's sort of the kind of thing I'm thinking of. Check the main beat of this killer classic track.

The Prodigy - Poison

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QxioaGm2ag

Or, another type of triplet beat I was thinking of can be heard starting at 0:50 here:

https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/149028

I know that sort of beat would take it further away from house but it's just my little idea and you could always mix that up with some more predictable house beats.

I like it so far. Some suggestions would be to vary things up a bit as the beat gets a bit repetitive. Also try adding other synths and maybe an extra piano part at the middle of it will make it better. Good job so far, with the right amount of work, this track could be a really good one!

I just finalized the track arrangement and uploaded here. And yea your right,I am going to add some new synths and piano variations or even a chilled electric guitar part in the middle where everything fades away and take the new synths and guitar part upto the sudden pause at 3.10....
Will add some beat variations tooo..

Thanks for listening and for the feedback...

Actually once you listen to Drum and Bass you get addicted to it and it never leaves you...Same thing happened to me and I decided to make a classic DnB song....
And its pretty much hard to program beats and manage the the arrangement.

Thanks for feedback and yea the track is soft with banging 172 BPM....

Changing the chord scheme after a while is a good idea since it now gets a bit repetitive after a while

I like the bass line, but what happen to the beat around 0:45? it fades a little and then it never get back to the starting level. I'd try to work on the chords, maybe adding sounds in the harmonics... which chords it's up on you and the idea of tune that you have in mind :) Some soulful chord would fit very well, imho.

Keep it up!

I was wondering the same thing. The beats never come back to the same level after the bass-line kicks in.I think the Bass is dominating the beats.I will EQ the bass and lower its volume.
And yes I am working on some new synths and chord sequence....

Thanks for the feedback....!!
