This is sounding really good Mark (even though my headphones are now only working on the left hand side PAH!!!) I can't pick out your "feeble" keyboard skills from the mix. Everything sounds bang on to me and you've created the exact atmosphere you said you were trying to achieve so i'd say jobs a goodun!!!
Love the big drum build towards the end of the track.
Splendid!
FR
Thank you, thank goodness for your dodgy headphones!! glad it the spot though, I had wanted to do a cinematic style track for a while so thought I would have a go, its good to be creating again after a long spell of not producing much.
thanks again and take care,
Mark
Hi! I agree with crucethus abaout the static feel. Hard to say what the reason might be. Maybe the female choir voices ... the male voices sound a lot better (or rather "appropriate") to me. It's different in the interlude 0:50+ tho. Could be the drums at 0:21 makes this part "male", the interlude is "female". 2:00+ is "male" again. Splitting it that way the female part could get a softer, warmer piano sound (the seperatly sold "heavenly grand" patch) with less hammering.
I thought a lot of your arrangement, I believe you could even make two songs from all the ideas. The bass, drums and guitar at 0:25 would make a cool old school "new wave" song. Especially the "crying" guitar tone is very distinctive.
Happy New Year Mark.
I like the song (song writing). The Midi like instruments feel just a bit static too me in this mix, almost too precise. If you can add a more organic element to this song it would be utterly brilliant as the Ideas you have for arranging are spot on. And it's not that I don't like the instrument choices, it just feels stiff too me musically, and that can be worked out.
cheers
Steve
Hi Steve, happy new year to you to and a massive thank you for your very constructive comments and I do agree. My first uploads came from me and the way I wanted them to sound, with this one I was too focussed on everything being right. I am going to adjust some of the sounds and add some vocals for a final mix sometime in early 2015, that said I still love this track because it is about me and the last year! really glad to see your music is still gracing looperman. my very beast wishes and take care Steve...thanks again.
Mark
Hi Anders, thank you, and that's what I was trying to achieve, I have been working on different styles whilst I have been away as well as attempting to create my own sounds! Thanks for the listen and my best wishes,
Mark
Hey Larry,
Loving this whole piece. I'm a sucker for choirs and the one at 0:48 is fantastic! Beautiful work on the symphonic pieces as well as molding the drums and guitars into it in the second half. This deserves some vocals on it!
Hi Rico, thanks for the compliments and so pleased you liked it, but you are spot on with the vocals and I am looking to add that into the final version.
Thanks again and best wishes for 2015.
Mark
Thanks Raymond, like you have not been here much of late but good to be back and I appreciate you taking time to listen. Glad you like.
Best wishes,
Mark
i like your combination of orchestral and electronic sounds. especially from 1:50 on you really seem to have found your way with the orchestration. it's nice to have a new track from you to follow. all the best! Dan
Hi Dan,
Thank you for listening and for your comments, been a bit tough of late but hopefully now back doing what I love!
thanks again and best wishes,
Mark
Pretty sweet track already Mr. Wiggles! Great build up and emotional aspects to create a powerful track so far. Strings and vocal pad are so nice, well it all is actually!! Great track to listen to on Christmas morning, gave it an uplifting feeling!
Hi Wayne, thanks for listening and really pleased that it was a good Christmas morning listen for you, and you liked it, that means a lot to me. Hope you are having a good Christmas.
Take care,
Mark
Wow. Larry, doesn't seem like you have been away at all!
What a track! when I heard the choir vocals, I knew I was in for a treat and I was not wrong.
An inspirational track, at 1.57 with the thunderous drums and electric guitars, definitely brought the listeners back into the light. Even the 'Drummer boy' feel section from 1.24 with the pianos, bloody brilliant.
Wishing you a happy Christmas and I hope all is going good at the LoopRadio. Blessings. - B
hiya Billy, great to hear from you and a big thank you for your comments, I value them a lot. I am now with Belter Radio, where we play mainstream as well as indie, but I am doing a feature on looperman artists shortly and you are definitely on my playlist! thanks again Billy,
beat wishes,
Mark
Nice blend of piano's, guitars and synths. Like what you've done with the drums in the track as well. It builds and builds and just keeps coming at you.
Great tuuune!!!
FR
Thanks FR, I didn't know whether the guitars would work at first but I liked the fit and pleased you did too, a massive thanks as always for taking time to listen and more importantly comment.
take care,
Mark
What a great come back!
This is nearly epic rock/metal...:-)
I really like the section from 1.57, when the crash makes it...so groovy...stunning bass like AC/DC...:-)
The whole track is just flying and flying...collab request for female vocs? Needs it...
Hi Danke, thank you and good to be back, attempting to come back with something different and thanks for the compliments.....especially AC/DC!! as always they are appreciated and I agree a female vocal would take it up a notch.
Have a great Christmas Danke, and thank you again.
It's like riding a bike! So easy to jump right back onto! The feel of this piece is so awesome! It's dark but uplifting at the same time, it reminds me of a lot of my own work really. That could be why I like it so much! But this is awesome, you are awesome! Thanks for coming back!
Hi Vance, thanks so much for listening and for getting what I was trying to achieve, your comments are really great and very very much appreciated.
take care and thanks again,
Holy Jupiter...look who is back!:) This seems like a Christmas present to me...we've been missing you alot around here, my friend...so great to have you back Mark...and there's no better way to come back than bringing a new great tune along...there's no reason for any criticism here, cause
your new work (even though unfinished, as you say) quite easily matches your usual high standards...I hope we will soon hear more from you..:)
Hi Orlando, good to be back and great to have you making the first comment, sorry about the length of my absence but I have had a few things to deal with over the past few months, and musically apart from deejaying and a few remixes, I haven't done anything, so I am glad to be back again and your honest and valued comments certainly helps. thanks again Orlando, my best wishes,
Mark
Mate you never disappoint, another very enjoyable listening piece from you once more, track to me seems to be a blend of a couple of genre's, pop dance trance electronic, whatever genre, extremely refreshing listen, great use of the vocals, going out on a limb here, would say this is one of my all time fav's by you so far...MASSIVE FAV...Peace n Respect Mark...Mosaic...
Top notch track here, has a very chill like groove. I'll have to try making some electro one day, I have never attempted it. But yea wow, good grooves and love the sounds and overall instrumentation. Guitar blends well with the synths, should of been a little longer! Very nice. peace
Hi, really sorry for taking so long to reply...all sorts of reasons but thanks so much for your comment, and hey you are uploading some great stuff too.
And we're niceley in with the piano lick. It's got a tropical vibe to it. Nice sunny and uplifting. That brass sounds really authentic. Is that a synth or do you play it your self with instruments? I have to say i'm very impressed with this. It's a splendid arrangement and everything about it shines.
Great piece.

Hi Mark & yessss this is U for me ...
U with this special elegantly usage of synth , suitable
,proper & impressive usage of Vocals , that unique self style of U about surprizing usage of latin instruments which I've really liked & totallY a package that makes me remember I'm listening to someone who has worked in music more & longer than me ...many thnx my friend for sharing your innovation.all the best.___B
My apologise for commenting so late but somehow I overlooked your new upload (it happens^^). This is perfectly fine piece of music no matter if you or anybody else are not counting it among your best. Generally I find it very pleasing and it reminds me on the soundworld of one of the UB 40's earlier albums titled "Signing off"... I really liked that album, so why not to like your song as well.:)^^
No worries, I too am trying to do juggle so many things and dropping most of them!! It is always refreshing to hear your comments and its flattering to have this track compared to UB 4O!! I did think this was going to be a great track when I first embarked on making it but sort of lost my way..and then the WAV files!! but it really pleases me that you like it and once again I respect your always honest opinion. I am working on new stuff, but time seems to conspire!!
Thanks again Orlando and take care my friend.
