Hey Mark, nicely done. Just the thing I needed to add to my coffee this morning to get the day started out right! Beautiful composition, well thought out, and perfectly delivered. Chilled as chilled can be :) Outstanding effort. I hope all is well.

on soothing sea - part 2 mark jeffries 2015 remix by larrywiggles1
Just a little thing that I noticed - at the 5 second mark, I think the sound of the waves is a little choppy. A small fade-in will fix it. But dang, I really like the airiness and relaxation this song bring.

Tanks for having another listen, and spot on.. A bit too sharp, will fade in waves in.

on soothing sea - part 2 mark jeffries 2015 remix by larrywiggles1
Mark, this is just fabulous. really nice production, love the ambient intro. Love the instrumentation. Then that sweet vocal. Cascading piano is a nice touch. Then that sax,. Bass is pushing the upper limits of my speaker in the mix, maybe back it down just a smidge.. Stereo shore washing sound is nice as well. Thenb a hint of blues like guitar. The drums are nicely eq'd and compressed. Every instrument sounds so clear and concise though I really like this Mark. The groove had me moving up and down in my chair. Fav'd for sure. great job

Brilliant!
Amazing!
One of your best!
The groovy, the bass synth, the pads, the sax and the guitar are all wonderfully executed...
The vocs are stunning too, though if I were you I would put minimal reverb on her...
Huge congrats Mark, this could be your winner one!!!

Respect, Danke

whatever it was you did worked a treat Mark...nice production values here...vocal exactly where it should be to my tastes...that sax around 2:30 is great...bit of a jazzy/late night vibe...it seemed like a fast 5 min listen so you had to nail the composition/arrangement really well...neat little guitar bits by the way (nice contrast with the horns & vox)....This is top notch mate...you can out this one on premanent file now.,,,its done...& done really well.....Good to see you found a little time to stop back around the place...really enjoyed this one....Ed

ahhh thanks Ed,
like us all I suppose I just seem to be juggling time lately, so I haven't been as active on looperman as I would have liked to have been, but I have been going through some of my earlier stuff and remixing some of it, as well as working on new tracks which I am hoping to get out soon. this one was a big test and I really am so pleased you liked it, it does mean an awful lot, hope all is well with you and speak again soon
Take care Ed and my very best wishes.

Great work you have here Mark! Good to have you back on looperman. Nice vocals as well. Who is that? Love the horns and sea sound effects. Great guitar too. The only thing is at the beginning around the 49 sec. mark it seem to got off track a little but smoothed out. Over all solid piece of work you have here! B-)

MAgix always loved this program most of the stuff the movie pieces i made where form here.... As for the way you made this song i like it, you took a different route then me on how to how to bring it together and it holds up very good :) but it feels like at the end you ended it so sudden wished it was kinda longer but regardless you did a dam good job well done :D

larrywiggles1 replied 13th Jan 2015 - 10 years ago
Hi Angel,
MAGIX, it is such a great programme which still lets you put your own mark on it! thanks for liking and I did consider extending it ( I may do a new version sometime!)but I like to try an keep interest by creating shorter tracks! there are those on looperman so much better at creating longer tracks that are always so good such as Orlando, Static Nomad and Free Radical to name a few..but a big thanks again.
Best wishes,
Mark

Super job, Mark. Has many elements I love in classical music. I played in the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for 4 years back in the day, and, being a percussionist, I always love the high energy pieces we did. Doing something like this would have definitely gotten my adrenalin up. I really like the dynamics you used in the piece. The harp and xylophone really sound nice and I love the choir...Hell, I love it all!

Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Coming from a great percussionist like you that is truly a compliment, and thank you....I loved doing the drum builds at the end and though I love my EDM, I so enjoy creating orchestral music too. thanks again for your kind comments,
best wishes,
Mark

Hi Mark. Can it be that you're a film composer. Because that's really WOW. I played a game. In the 90s. It was called, Tomb Raider. And the music was the same. So mysterious, so wonderful.

The piano was beautiful in the beginning, and strings to! This track reminds me of the movie, Coraline. I think it would fit superb in there. Or a fantasy video game. It was a great listen. :D

Hey Larrywiggles1, Love this track "out of the gloom". I was hoping to get your permission to use this track royalty free for a BASE jumping video I am making right now. I think parts of this track would be amazing for the video and would of course give you music credit in the end. I would love to use it if it is ok with you!!

Dear Larry,

Loved the Bassline... and use of arps. Loved the way guitar rhythm was introduced but was little unsatisfied with the way the were cut abruptly. Overall a beautiful Chill-Out Track & looking forward to hear more interesting sounds from you.

Hugs.

Hi Ether Blu,

A big thank you for giving this a listen and spot on with the abrupt comment, this one of my first tracks done in 2013 where I was still very much feeling my way. This is a track along with some others I may revisit and remix at some stage. Really pleased you liked some of it though.
a massive thanks,

At noon under the spaghetti western sun: the Brahms and Prokofjew shootout.

Very cool track, good composing and arranging. Keeps the power through the whole track without using too much compression.

I don't think you've gone too far. But far. A huge stream of musical information, it's like a videogame ad music telling you all you got to know (or feel) about the game in less than one minute - I'd sure buy your game!

Love how powerful this track is. The cellos at 0:30 are fantastic! Great work larry, this was a fantastic piece to listen to! The brass mixed with the chorus at 1:29 is fantastic, and the male choir at 1:37 made me feel like i was playing halo again! (don't know if you know the halo theme if you don't check it out) The clarinet after that made me think that I was running through the forests of Oblivion again. (I'm a gamer if you couldn't tell) Overall this track was one of the best orchestral pieces I've listened to on this site. Well done!

P.s. Thanks for always being supportive on my tracks!

You definitely have the soundtrack Mark...there are some parts that I think would make it ideal for one of those fantasy or midevil kind of scene sets with the flute sound & vocal pads etc......big mix here...and all sits very nice and clear on my speakers...well...now that Winter is at its worst perhaps it will keep you inside and doing more music....your year is off to a very fine start.....Ed
