Description : The beat is fairly simple. A pretty jazzy, laid back hiphop joint. I had some mixing issues and so some things might stand out more than others such as one of the sets of hihats. Drums again were programmed by me and they could be better. You know how much I love filters so the main sample was filtered and filtered again until it sounded the way I wanted. The filtered sample provided my backdrop while the original sample was chopped up and arranged over top of the filtered section. You will also notice a faint string in the back at certain spots. The hook contains a horn sample that did not come out the way I wanted. If I could do this beat again, the chops would be a whole lot cleaner and blend better than they do here. This was definately a learning experience. I still love the beat and if you're into this style, hopefully you can enjoy this, too. Any tips and feedback is welcome.

This is wicked mate. Really love this kind of laid back hip hop groove. Awesome work with that sample. The beats could be a bit more mixed up, but i really like the kick - that hits hard. great work on this one.

Humpty Dumpty... classic sample love the original one by Marc Moulin. I would add some spice to the drums tho very quiet atm. imma try and flip it right now xD got me inspired

this is sweet man real classic sounding,I like what you did and dont see no problem with the horn section I think it is really well mixed as it is great work fgreat track :-)

lol thanks that makes me feel better about it i guess. its just that sometimes when I chop things up, they get a little rough. I was told about that some time ago and im still battling with it. i have to find the right technique i guess to help me get some cleanet cuts.. glad you liked though. thanks

I like the beat it got a nice feeling to it. Did you put some swing on the drums? otherwise that could make the beat even greater

You're absolutely right spexer. The drums are a bit stiff. If I remember right, the kick drum may have had a little swing but those hihats are stiff as ever. Thanks for the tip, I have to remember to add a little groove to those drums lol. You might also like these tracks
