Yeah, I'm in my 50's, so I was listening to heavy metal (Vanilla Fudge, Blue Cheer, etc.) before it was even called heavy metal. Though I do enjoy quality tunes from every genre of music, metal, especially old skool, will always be my first love.

I came up with heavy metal from the 60's on (I'm 52), such as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Deep Purple, etc. Then I stayed with it through the 80' "Hair Metal" scene and into the 90's with artists like King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Savatage, Helloween, Metal Church, Anvil, Celtic Cross, etc. Regardless of what comes along though, old skool death metal is still my true love, especially Scandinavian death metal because of its more melodic undertones (despite the down-tuned, overly distorted guitar sound). Naturally, I'm working on several more songs in a similar vein to "March..."
