Hey mate..as the youth of today say.."This is fully sick!"lol..seriously man I think you've hit the nail on the head here with the less is more philosophy....all the extraneous trimmings are left by the wayside I perceive for that main beat focus,I like the sub bass swell as well almost like a psychic mirror to the drum beat on occasion...Hip Hop is something I've had to absorb over time..and amazingly against my initial misgivings I've found I like it! lol..just shows you can teach the proverbial new tricks..cheers buddy :)
