Description : A metal/electronic combination with some symphonic thrown in. It has an electronic intro and then the metal kicks in. I tried to create an image from the future of a dark stone cathedral built on a faraway planet where the traditions of the church are maintained despite being far from Earth. Those who walk inside face a daily crisis of maintaining faith on a mechanized and metallic planet. While the piece is dark, I tried to end on a note of optimism. I used loops from the following looperman artists whom I respect greatly: Planetjazzbass, Duce132, ProfPlum, DJ4Real, Funkee78, and Louis Cypher. Thanks for the inspiration.

This is such a major masterpiece. It deserves a whole lot more than only 4 favs.. Man.. You blew my mind with this one. Excellent work on those guitar-riffs and you created this image of this scenario spotless. Nothing else to say. Rock solid. And my apologies for my backout on the colab we tried to make by the way.
It could have been a great song.. Would love to do it again, but I've lost all my old files. You wouldnt - by any chance - have it somewhere..?

    Anyway - stunning track.
You're one of the best artists on the site man.

Steinaa, thanks for the review and your kind words. I've been dealing with a lot so I have not been making music as much as I would like. Your words of encouragement came at just the right time during a difficult time. Thank you. I believe I may still have the files of the collab- I will send it your way. No need to apologize. As I well know, life happens. Thanks again for honoring me with your words. As always, it means a lot coming from an artist whom I admire so much. Kper

Thanks, santiagosky. That actually really means a lot. Like a lot of people on looperman, music is what I do on the side that often people don't even know I do. That's why I enjoy looperman because of the affirmations, and constructive criticism, I get from people like you. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and review and for your kind words. It made me feel young again. Kper

Great imaginative piece...luv the dynamics between the axe grindin' metal and the electronic, like night and day.Nice theme to finish with...completely contrasts the heavy riffage....Awesome.

Thanks KTA. I have several genres of music that I like and so I like to combine some of my favorites into songs just to see what happens. I enjoy when it all comes out well and seems to fit together. My wife is trying to push me into combining country and metal and electronic because she likes country music. But I gotta draw the line somewhere. :-) Thanks for the review and for putting out great music. Kper

OHHHHH i like the metal riffs! and what did you use for the drums? they sound like a live set but i'm guessing they are from a drum machine. good song.

    Reply by Kper

Thanks for the review, nonsensesystem. I wish I was talented enough to play the drums or figure out how to use to drum machine. :-) Instead, for the guitars, bass, and the drums, I rely on Sony's Ultimate Metal Construction Kit in my Acid program. It's been a fun kit to use and makes me sound much better than I actually am. :-) Doing the guitar and drums in my songs is the easy part. All the other sounds are what take all the work for me. Thanks for taking the time to review. Kper

your description is so very apt for this piece. i agree that this song is terribly epic, which is why it would also serve well in the cinematic category. really great work on this one!

Thanks for taking the time to review. I guess the metal aspect of it keeps me from putting it in the cinematic but maybe I just need to get over it. :-) Thanks again. Kper

This has "epic" written all over it - which is a cut above the rest. However it was engineered, this is well done and speaks of talent. Downloaded with respect - thank you, and all the best in the new year.

Incredibly creative. I love layers :) I wish I had more time to make a really good one myself, but have been spending more time playing my guitar as of late. Maybe I could find a way to upload some mean riffs for you, one of these days. I love all of your tracks thus far, you rock, man.

Thanks for the review, Axidswitch. I love layers too and have to resist the urge not to use too many (which sometimes I do). I love your tracks as well and look forward to more. Feel free to send some riffs my way of any variety. I'm always looking for new ideas, melodies, and ideas. From what I have heard on your tracks, you have great sounds. Thanks again. Kper

I really enjoyed the intro. When the drums come in the chorus sound u used is awesome. I also like how u used a 7-stringer in this one. You're a great composer! Couldn't have arranged this one better myself. I like the use of the double-bass. The ending is optimistic, very "hopefull."
    Cool track

Many of the chorus sounds I "borrowed" from loops done by Planetjazzbass. Calling me a composer is a great compliment. I don't know about you, but using loops feels a lot like painting where we take bits of color and brush them onto a canvas. What's nice about that is that no one has to like my music other than me. But when others do, that is an extra bonus. Thanks for taking the time to listen and review. I'm looking forward to checking out more of your tracks as they come out. Kper

Description : A collab with nicetones101. Dark , gritty and with questionable intent. crunchy riff driven guitars and atmospheric vocals weave together a solemn track.Hopefully we invoke some sort of emotion! \m/

Description : A collab with nicetones101 ! This has been awhile in the making, real life caught up with me and i had to take a little musical break. I looked over my past comments i received and i tried to put all the constructive criticism to work ! I turned the vocals up a bit , I also cut down on the effects and left a clean vocal track. I did want the chaos and the noise to still be a player in certain parts though. I tried to create two distinct atmospheres, an uneasy calm and a manic episode. I prefer headphones with this track as there is a lot going on at certain times.

Description : Living in the Pacific Northwest, USA, I am surrounded by countless acres of forests and mountains. Having experienced them, I know that with as beautiful and serene as they can be, so too, they can be cold, deadly and unforgiving. That's what this song is about. The wide spectrum of emotions one can feel when alone in the forest. Whether you want to be or not. Let me know what you think. --- Take care. V.

Description : Psychedelic chillout stoner/doom epic. Badass heavy riffage and drumming plus big chillout vibes. Heavy electric guitar plus slow attack lead parts. Other beauty and ambience from filter swept violins, two synth pads and some subtle female vocal samples. Also bass guitar and sub bass. Two programmed, heavy drum kits and one lighter one, to fatten up the sound.

Tags : | Heavy Metal | 9.94 MB

Description : One of my greatest heavy tracks. What I find unusual is the amount of melodic and deep ambient guitar that sits on top of low, distorted riffs and fat, heavy drums. Very little synth work here apart from the sub bass, which plays almost throughout. Bass guitar in two sections and a couple of slide resonator guitar solos. Drums are a few programmed metal/rock kits, no drum loops. What I still have trouble believing and understanding is that all of the many vocal sounds in this are actually timestretched guitar parts (8x or 800% slower). I don't know why the timestretching adds such a clear vocal component to the sound. Gets darker and more intense in the middle (and towards the end) but this is otherwise quite melodic - perhaps in a way that might put off some metallers. Shitloads of guitar playing, some fairly badass, and lots of heavy, crashing drums so press play if you want to rock hard but also in a deep ambient, psychedelic way. Interesting thoughts and reflections are, as always, greatly appreciated. Detailed comments preferred...

Description : I discovered Meshuggah around 2003 and was blown away by the power, complexity and super Heavy sound of their music. Their "Nothing" album marked the switch to 8 string guitars and pushed Heavy Metal into a whole new territory. My track is a variant cover of their song "Nebulous". I have stayed pretty close to the original but added a few dynamic elements of my own. Its loud, its super heavy and way out there...Beyond Nebulous.
