I saw myself driving thru the night.
Great one for sure! Only thing i found bad was that it has an end :) could listen to this much much longer for sure.
Sounds, samples, FX and all is really well made and the mix has some real nice breaks and fine melodies. The mastering is also very fine made work.
I have to say that this one was a real pleasure to listen to.

Well done.

stay tuned

Very enjoyable track! I liked it from the very beginning. I like how you changed it up in the beginning and used those vocal samples to help with the transition. The different changes in the track almost sound like different genre interpretations of the same track. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but you definitely made it work.

Great work mate!

I like mixes like this that keep changing and has so many ideas crammed in to a continuous flow, great work.

Brilliant track! I love all the glitchiness of this track! All of the variation throughout this track is great as well. My favorite parts are probably around 45 seconds and 1:10. It sounds like there's some sort of reversed percussion, maybe a kick drum that fits perfectly into the rhythm. Also the sound that comes in at 1:10 is just amazing!

Darknives replied 7th Oct 2016 - 10 years ago

that particular kick sound, is probably the way I cut I very small part of the sample and put it on repeat. Also because the samples' original bpm is diferent, I think make the natural reverb weird and sound almost like a reversed kick but, its not.
Glad you liked it and payed atention to all those details. thanks man

you mean the name of the sample? type of drum?

Both of them :D

Darknives replied 5th Oct 2016 - 10 years ago

The type of beat is Breakbeat.
This particular one is a really famouse sample. It's the Amen Break. I downloaded it here on looperman, not sure it's the original sound if the uploader messed with it.

I've been diggin' trip-hop lately.

That switch up to techno was pretty sweet :)

I particularly love the evolution of this.

I'll keep my eyes out for the finished version.

Description : The Disfigured Firefighter was a loving husband and father who risked his life fighting the flames. After suffering horrific burns, he knew he had only days left to live. Unable to face his wife and children in his new condition, he chose to stay away. He wanted them to remember the man he once was, not the broken man the fire had left behind. In the end, he faced death alone, carrying only their memories.
