    AMAZING TRACK!

Every second of the track is total eargasm xD

Loved the LFO automations in the drop. Very perfect!

I thought the second drop would be identical to the first but I was wrong.
Second drop was really a twist for me. Nice trap stuff there too!

Amazing work on vocals. Takes the track to another level.

The dreamy synths and leads throughout the track were nice. Nice reverb on them.

Mixing is on point. Great work.

Any tips for making future bass would be helpful.

    Regards,

Haha Thanks for all your points and I'm glad you really liked the song.

By the way I only recently found this out, but the bass on the first drop is barely audible on speakers, but can be heard on earphones and headphones. I wonder if that's a problem I need to look out for next time.

As for tips, I don't really have that many I'm learning as well Haha But for future bass, there's a lot of focus on melody and harmony. Try learning about 7th and 9th chords.

Yes! Great job Sheen. I listen and produced in many genres and I can hear the depths of your mastery on this one. I probably have many question on your skills and techniques on this one which is truly amazing to say the least. What admire the most about this song is you are not trying to mimic or sound like someone else. Really hot and original stuff here. Awesome production and great fxs! Keep that fire going there in Ghana brother! Great use of Eshar's spoken vocals, she is the best on this site and is ahead of the pack by many kilometers.

    Cheers!

Haha Mastery feels a bit like an overstatement, but thanks I'm really glad you liked the song. I just wanted it to sound experimental and different so I'm glad I succeeded with that while keeping the song enjoyable. And I know I've said this before, but I wouldn't have been able to complete this track without Eshar, and I really appreciate her work.

P.S. Just moved to Orlando to start my Freshman year in college, so I'm out of Ghana.

Yey! Looperman future bass take over. Need a catergory for this sound on looperman. So everybody will know the future bass take over ^-^

Dope LFO saw with noise! Those 808's goes in hard tho! Congratz dude, your skills are getting there.

    Reply by sheensheep

Haha definitely. Future bass is gonna picking up some serious traction soon. I'm glad you liked my song.

P.S. Just as a tip for anyone else reading this, the saw really isn't an LFO. It's sidechained to silent drums so I can get the rhythm I want easily and I used a utility (basically a volume meter for Ableton) to make it sound cleaner. Just using sidechain sounded a bit messy.

Love this, sheensheep. The piano keys and Eshar’s soothing voice brings me to a meditative state then as the beat kicks in.. I’m suddenly possessed to do some popping kind of dance with a fierce look on my face. It's crazy! (But you wouldn’t want to see it. Hehehe.) That’s the power of your track. Very cool and interesting piece! I liked the minimalism of it, which kept the loudness of the mix at a good level, while still being able to hear the intricacies. Fun arrangement and sequencing as well! So, can you explain what I should look for which differentiates "future bass" from "trap" or "dubstep?" I've never really figured it out. I like the song a lot, I'd just like to learn more about what makes this genre what it is. Thanks for sharing the piece!

    sheensheep
    Reply by sheensheep

Thanks I'm glad you liked it. I'll see to keeping my future productions minimal to some extent and intricate. And I'll give you a quick rundown for each genre and give you an artist to look into so you can clearly listen to the difference.

Dubstep - Loud and dirty (Excision)
Trap - Minimal and more focus on bass (Troyboi)
Future Bass - Much more melodic and synth focused (San Holo (my fav artist rn))

The first drop for the song I made can be considered future bass (more focus on melody and synth) while the second drop is pretty much trap (more focus on bass). Hope this helps clear things up.

This track is a great production. In my opinion, the kick Sounded Good With Its Powerful Feeling, But I Don't Think It Fits With The Beat. The Vocal FX You Used Here And There Don't Really Need To Be In The Beat, But It Still Fits Well & Sounds Good. kindly share some mixing tips

    sheensheep
    Reply by sheensheep

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. In terms of mixing, I did quite a bit of layering. The kick for example, I wanted it to sound dusty, so I found a hip hop type kick with more of a high end and layered it with a low end kick to give it some punch. Also, use volume levels to choose which parts you want to focus on (for this one the dusty kick was the focus so it was louder). I guess training your ear to what you like and think sounds good is the best tip I can give.

Companions forever,
A part of me, a part of you
And for a time… it was true.
Every waking moment, I'd count the seconds till we met once more
Till I finally reached serenity.
Till I'd hear your voice.

They call it love… they call it hope.
Open your eyes to the prettiest of lies
For the truth does not come so easy.
Trust… should not come so easy.
This pain… this hurt…
There's no one to blame but us.
So wake up, from this dream

Description : After a major uphill battle completing this song and turning it into what it is now, I feel some amount of satisfaction. It was like reality wanted me to give up or something. It's done... phew... Have updated this almost completely, from repatching the modular bass, playing some guitar parts, adding electric piano and synth lead, redoing and tuning the DW-6000 synth, of course adding my vocals, and mixing and mastering. It really has become pretty new wave, like much of my stuff does recently. Have added the lyrics as well. I am proud and happy with it, and I hope you all enjoy listening! UPDATE... woohoo just broke 1000 plays on this track here at looperman!
***original description***
Hey finally here with a new track! I'm not sure what to call this other than electronic, due to the high tempo. This is the first song finished using my interface which allows direct MIDI control of my modular synthesizer. The mid frequency bass part is all from that patch. There are tracks designed with my Zoom RT-123 drum machine, the microkorg, and the circuit bent KORG DW-6000. Other than that it is just a kick and snare drum sample, and a a quick vocal snippet. So I guess it's fairly minimal in that respect. Would like to hear the Looperman community's thoughts on this song! Thank you for listening

Description : Just like the first EP "OGOU", this production focuses on organic elements with drum samples. It contains modern sounds such electronic down-tempo, future bass, and hip-hop, which makes the music sound old and new at the same time. With heavy sampling of African chants and sound generated from other tribes, this is production will bring more flavor and enjoyment--it's like Africa to your Ears.

Description : The tangled skein of life permeates all creation, binding the known to the unknown. This track, in its own subtle way, attempts to convey that.

Description : New-Acid House

100% Original 126 BPM Instrumental
Pretty straight forward. ʘʘ

Hopefully, it should make you at least wiggle your toes. :P

Enjoy! ;)

Description : The answer to Close Encounters is Hymn Of The Pleiades. This is a strictly groove track where the elements of ambient meets electronic funk and Hip Hop. Track was recorded, mixed and mastered using Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 software. Results were achieved by using a FATA Studio 90 MIDI keyboard ran through a E-MU Proteus 2000 sound module, - for the phat funky bass synth. I also used a KORG O5R/W sound module for the retro lead synth parts and ambient sound pads.
I utilized what was essentially a old school Hip Hop drum track, arranged and beefed it up for that extra umh! I greatly appreciate all the positive feedback the track has garnered thus far. Keep listening and by all means, your comments are much welcomed... thanks.

Description : Enjoy!!!

Description : This one has a lot of changes. Pretty unique. Lots of dubstep sounds, glitch and other sounds. I always enjoy listening back to it. Throw on some headphones, crank it up, and experience the awesomeness of this epic electronic composition.

Description : Electronic blend. Starts off with a wup wup wup wup bass wob, then a rock beat with a bass line, and synths and samples are weaved in. Glitch sounds invade, and dub step robo voices speak up. A sliced up climax tops off the structure. Thank you, come again.

Description : Here's an original track I made which features different vst's I've found within the interwebs. Very chill, yet hard hitting. I'd say this track is Chillout/Electronic.

Description : With the winter solstice comes a new album from Spivkurl, as well as this new song from the album. Kind of a new-new-wave sort of track. We all like it around here.

Description : The wild warrior.
In a mysterious chilling EBM mix.
In this unusual song I didn't use loops, only VST's.
The total wacky WHOOO, for the Jungle alarm flute. It really has a totally funky interface.
Then even the Revolta2, Tethys2 and MT Powerdrumkit2.
And underneath, sounds from Robotar.
Mixed with Spinner and KeroVee and some more FX stuff.
And on top of it a little singing, by myself.
Again the question arises.
What is the name of this style or genre?
But more important, of course, is that you like it.
Comments are sure welcome.
Enjoy the music and dance like a wild warrior
