Update - This is the updated completed version of the song featuring Eshar on the vocals. This is a very experimental track and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised by it.
I don't know where else to put this, but I really want to thank the Looperman community for giving my track a chance. It's almost hit 800 plays and it's got so many favorites, it's insane. Thanks to everyone who made this the song it is right now.

Finally getting back to replying to old comments on my tracks so I'm a little late Haha Anyways I'm currently busy on a lot of projects, so maybe in the future we could collab! I'm really glad you liked the track.
This is a trip from start to finish Sheen.Lots of great ideas and big compressed sounds, dirty, almost nasty! but it draws the listener in.Great job dude.
Haha Thanks for all your points and I'm glad you really liked the song.
By the way I only recently found this out, but the bass on the first drop is barely audible on speakers, but can be heard on earphones and headphones. I wonder if that's a problem I need to look out for next time.
As for tips, I don't really have that many I'm learning as well Haha But for future bass, there's a lot of focus on melody and harmony. Try learning about 7th and 9th chords.
Haha definitely. Future bass is gonna picking up some serious traction soon. I'm glad you liked my song.
P.S. Just as a tip for anyone else reading this, the saw really isn't an LFO. It's sidechained to silent drums so I can get the rhythm I want easily and I used a utility (basically a volume meter for Ableton) to make it sound cleaner. Just using sidechain sounded a bit messy.
Hey! I've been working on my version of this song, and I'd thought that you would like to hear what I've been working on! This track is not yet complete and is not my entry to the constest, and I've thinking about starting over. Thanks! https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/178616
Sadly I can't give feedback on the song until the competition is over. It would be unfair to others. Based on what other people think of your post and your intuition, you must decide if you want to change it or not. Just remember to complete it and send the final song to me by the deadline on August 31st.
You cant hear that this is your first try on this genre. It sounds more like an experienced production. You seamlessly fit teh vocals and synths together as a whole and have a lot of variation in the melody and beat. It was and is a joy to listen to and cant give you any hints as it is perfect in my ears! Respect and favoured!
CRAZY! if you ever wanna collab on some future bass that is my favorite genre ever! really trying to get into the fundamentals of it, the bells around 1:20 are fantastic!
I'm happy you loved it. Sorry I'm getting ready to start college in a week and as a result, I'm too busy to be working on collabs atm. Maybe some other time.
Love this, sheensheep. The piano keys and Eshar’s soothing voice brings me to a meditative state then as the beat kicks in.. I’m suddenly possessed to do some popping kind of dance with a fierce look on my face. It's crazy! (But you wouldn’t want to see it. Hehehe.) That’s the power of your track. I want to share this to my dancer friends and see what they can choreograph out of this. Great track artwork too. It reflects what I experience as I listen to the track. Looking forward to more future bass tracks from you! :)
Since i cant reply 2 ur reply :/ i have 2 make new a comment, sorry. But foley is ordinary everyday sounds like opening a can of soda, or picking up your keys to go Pokemon hunting. A song that i heard recency thats uses foley well is > https://soundcloud.com/ujico/ramune. Ignore the weeaboo background, but like the squeaky bed, the glasses clinking together and what i think is a gun are all examples of foley.
Yeah, one of the disadvantages of Looperman I wish would change is definitely being able to thread replies on comments.
And I'll look into that for my next song. Thanks.
Thanks. I'm considering this track as done and move on, so I'll keep the criticism about changing the kick around for my next song (the kick has been mentioned a few times).
And can you tell me what foley is by the way? Do you know any good songs which used foley well?
Not normally my type of music but I started listening and couldn't stop. Love this! Super well done, sounds really professional and clean, definitely something special here. Good work!
Very cool and interesting piece! I liked the minimalism of it, which kept the loudness of the mix at a good level, while still being able to hear the intricacies. Fun arrangement and sequencing as well! So, can you explain what I should look for which differentiates "future bass" from "trap" or "dubstep?" I've never really figured it out. I like the song a lot, I'd just like to learn more about what makes this genre what it is. Thanks for sharing the piece!
Thanks I'm glad you liked it. I'll see to keeping my future productions minimal to some extent and intricate. And I'll give you a quick rundown for each genre and give you an artist to look into so you can clearly listen to the difference.
Dubstep - Loud and dirty (Excision)
Trap - Minimal and more focus on bass (Troyboi)
Future Bass - Much more melodic and synth focused (San Holo (my fav artist rn))
The first drop for the song I made can be considered future bass (more focus on melody and synth) while the second drop is pretty much trap (more focus on bass). Hope this helps clear things up.

Yo this is banging! I love this track, sounds incredibly professional and is a great first (or any) attempt at future bass. Im loving the breaks in the synth and the overall vibe of the song, the vocals are super fitting too. Sounds like Blackmill or something. Keep on killin it!
Oh hell. This is definitely heavy and crisp. Future Trap, yeah? I love the various sfx, and leads you have all throughout the track. Very calm in certain places like around 1:37. Your mixing is really sharp, and your use of the fat 808's are hella full. Nice man!
Thank you for adding my vocals to the track. I really like this and like I said before you have a natural talent. It will be interesting to see how others re-interpret your vision. I might even have a go at the remix comp myself lol.
Probably one of the best track I've heard lately. I'm nitpicking here but maybe it'd sound better if the vocals were more wet. Can't wait to hear what you come up with next!
You won't find tracks like this there though. They're older and I've been changing my style to fit something more like this track: future bass/experimental. Hopefully you'll stil find some enjoyment in the old songs I've made.
Maybe I would just de-compress it or (de-limit) a little. The wave form seems peaked in some parts, probably would be nicer on the hears and more dynamic if you lowered it just a bit.
Nice one man, didn't expect it when I read "trap". Way different than average. Has a really nice flow and rythm.
I have some different trap tracks too, would like your opinion.
Keep them coming
I like it...very imaginative and I can understand why you gave it the title you did. I disagree about the comment that you didn't need the vocal fx....the track has been well thought out and it all works well. You asked in the forum for someone to do spoken word and I have done a few....whereabouts in the track would you use the spoken word?
Anyway....I'll message you and give you my email and you can send the passage you have in mind. I'll record it and don't worry if you don't use it.
Beautiful, well-pieced track. Personally, I think that you should have used some different drum sounds but you could have been going for a different feel than I was thinking.
great beat, my dude! That drop is so clean and engineered exactly like a big-name future bass song. I love the vox chops, and the melodies to accompany it :]
Overall sounds great. Loved it
This track is a great production. In my opinion, the kick Sounded Good With Its Powerful Feeling, But I Don't Think It Fits With The Beat. The Vocal FX You Used Here And There Don't Really Need To Be In The Beat, But It Still Fits Well & Sounds Good. The Transitions were amazing & really keep me drawn into the beat to want to know what's coming next. Keep putting up more work I'd love to see more tracks from you. Also, if you wouldn't mind checking out my tracks, and leaving some feedback I'd appreciate that.

wow nice hella trill beat love the sounds the builds, drops
the mix was nicely done that kick is smacking hard good stuff mate that reverb on that vocal as it pans and fades out good stuff that was a highlight for me

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. In terms of mixing, I did quite a bit of layering. The kick for example, I wanted it to sound dusty, so I found a hip hop type kick with more of a high end and layered it with a low end kick to give it some punch. Also, use volume levels to choose which parts you want to focus on (for this one the dusty kick was the focus so it was louder). I guess training your ear to what you like and think sounds good is the best tip I can give.

Description : Feel free to check out the video on YT as well (Alan McLaren Project - Upside Down) of this 6min journey from electronic to rock with some psychedelic moments...
This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

Description : Far out mid-tempo fat beat deep chillout grooves with Eastern/Arabic and slightly menacing vibes, huge delayed synth bass and a great palette of psychedelic layered and intricate sounds (mostly synths) and a stirring, epic feel. Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 80s power rock which is then followed by a brief synth harp solo. I began making it straight after staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - easily the greatest ever space rock band. I made this in about 2001 and still think it might be my best track (and it's nice and short, for a change). My production skills were much weaker in those days (no EQ, compression or mastering used here) but, somehow, this one turned out pretty much just right. Feel free to disagree. Now sit back and get ready to trip extremely far out. If you manage to return, let me know how that trip was...
Description : Got some spare time finally...just started on some random ideas basically (lets say kygo meets alan walker). A blend of dubstep, edm, downbeat, tropical etc.
It's still a work in progress, so i would appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks to all those whose loops I have used in here, sorry I don't have time to search them out.
Edit-added some more filthy sounds from my previous tracks and gave it some ending. Advice will be helpful.

Every second of the track is total eargasm xD
Loved the LFO automations in the drop. Very perfect!
I thought the second drop would be identical to the first but I was wrong.
Second drop was really a twist for me. Nice trap stuff there too!
Amazing work on vocals. Takes the track to another level.
The dreamy synths and leads throughout the track were nice. Nice reverb on them.
Mixing is on point. Great work.
Any tips for making future bass would be helpful.

Aviat
