Well done. Great track. Talent fills this track completely by way of vocals, music composition, recording and mixing. A+++

Haha, hey bro I can assure you I don't have no particular talent, it's only hardwork. I worked my ass so hard to reach this level, and I still have a lot to learn still. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed it that much. And thanks for your feedback.

I see you told Pat you used a pre-mixed instrumental, so with that in mind, I think the result here is quite remarkable. The most difficult thing in the world is to add vocals to a completely mixed track. Things are a lot easier if you have all of the instrument stems so you can mix everything at the same time.

So, from a mixing aspect, outstanding effort. Really good vocal work on this. Very nice backing track as well. Keep chasing the dream. I hope all is well.

Thanks for the feedback. Just like you said it's really tough to mix on a pre-mixed instrumental. I think the engineer did a pretty nice job to work on this. I really like the outcome but you know, it is always good to have a different feedback from different people. I am glad you like it thank you for your review :) And of course, let's keep the dream alive.

It sounds good through my studio headphones, but I'd suggest taking it to a few different car systems and listening to it there. I've noticed a lot of things in the car that I don't notice in the studio - like too much bass, for instance.

Hey EpicRecord

Thanks for your review, there. You are perfect right saying I could take a few listen using different systems. I listened using two systems already and everything sound stable apart from the usual cymbal issue. Thanks again :)

Every thing sounds clear and balanced to me. The only thing that I might adjust is the level of some of the low frequencies (not 100% sure on that though). If you were going for an "old school" hip-hop vibe, then I'd leave every thing as it is. If you were trying to compare it to contemporary club hip-hop songs, then I'd boost the bass a bit.

Hey Enzotic

Thanks for your feedback. I actually had the old skool feel in mind while recording this song. I think the Engg did understand the song the same way I did, trying to transcribe that feel. :) Thanks for your review.

I don't listen to hip hop all the time or anything, though I do enjoy certain songs or albums on occasion. I think this is sounding pretty good. Vocals are clear, so that helps a lot. The cymbals to me are a bit heavy on the ultra high frequencies, but that's only my ears... I've said that on other people's tracks before and they turn around and listen to one of mine and say basically the same thing to me. I'm guessing there is a certain frequency range that my ears are sensitive to that others' are not. Really other than that I don't have any criticism for you. Pretty enjoyable track!

Hey Spivkurl,

Thanks for your review. I appreciate it. Yeah about the cymbals, don't worry, your ears are not fooling you. I figured the cymbals are pretty high too. Maybe that's due to the fact that I used a pre-mixed instrumental... So that's like the best the engg. could get out of the cymbals. I suppose you are a mixing engg yourself, so this review is much appreciated. If you have more input, you can send me a message :) I could always use an engg or two. Peace

Ps: I'll check some of your work.

Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.
