This may just be one of my favorites of your tracks! Everything is very nicely balanced and clear. The vocals are prominent and powerful. The drums have a nice relaxed vibe about them which really compliments the vocal parts, and also seems to have help you compose some very nice instrumental parts. Smooth and fresh, dig it! Fave!
thank you again for an interesting reply and such a nice comment on this one. I appreciate that.
This song is a very original combination of sounds from different looperman members: I started with the synth pad by devodale which was played on wavestation synth. Then I kept adding more stuff (as always) that I downloaded earlier to came up with some corresponding sounds/textures. I tapped these drums from the keyboard (funk drum kit from ezdrummer plugin). The rhodes piano improv line is mine too.
I do not have any recipe for making a good song. Each one is different. Truly I did not expect it will sound like this at the end!
An important thing, I was listening a lot to the classical and jazz acoustic recordings of good quality earlier so that affects my current work. And basically this is my favourite 'area' which in my opinion brings great listening experiences. I can't say this on the loud electronic sequenced music but I might be wrong of course. Just a personal preference. I tried myself in producing a bit of electronic music on this site as well.
I think if I am just able to merge together the sounds that will share the same harmonics then it is always a great start.
I do not know what to say more about all this. I did not develop a theory, it is more an 'creative' practical approach of the moment.
I am happy you liked this track which is also a 'collective effort'. Thanks for your interest in my music. Best, Alex
Thank you Stefano for some nice words. I used the 'french rap' here as well but I kept intentionally ignoring the proper timing. I do not think any artificial processing was really needed here. I agree this song is something like a happy 'mix of different voices' (which is a very accurate description of it haha).
Thanks again for your time and nice comment. Best to you, Alex
hi, glad you liked it. please let me know when you will make something from this - would be great to hear your production! thanks for your nice comments, Alex
Very nice sound quality and great use of the backing vocals to complement Janis here.
The drums/the beat I don't know about, I like to dance or at least to move to music and do find it a bit hard with a jazzy kind of rhythm that isn't consistent. But that's just my poor brain wanting to control things, I guess.
Good stuff anyhow! Very innovative and creative.
Cheers / SJ =)
thank you for your nice comments SJ.
I can only say that there is a snare on 2 and 4 beat so you could dance and move to it anyway... Thanks again and all the best to you,
Alex
Beautiful Intro. I love the dissonance. Awesome Rhodes piano sound. Then some really nice drums in a disparate time signature. Janis vox Dans le Langue Français makes it seem other-worldly. 3.29 it was over too soon, a great sign of a great song.
good work Alex.
I partook in sampling her voice for two songs, one a remix of her Les Planiciers,(The Boaters) and Another completely of my own creation loop wise called Dark corners in which her beautiful voice rounds out the chorus. Unortunately I do not have Les Planiciers available now but I will rotate it back in some day.
In the meantime please enjoy dark corners. https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/145943
many thanks for kind words Steve - Im happy you enjoyed this one!
I made also some other song with vocals from Janis 'Lullaby for A' a few days ago: http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/160098
this one contains also very nice ferryterry guitars.
Really cool Chill Out track. Nice arrangement. The overall mix is top notch. What impressed me the most is how you got the vocals to sit just right on top of the music.
This is one of those joints you play in your car while driving just to get a peace of mind. I enjoyed this a lot. Very nice work.
Mate what a impressive tune, absolutely love the vocals especially the backing vocals, they go so nice with the main vocal, clarity and arrangement top notch, track to be proud of my friend...Massive fav...Maybe my most fav track of yours so far I have reviewed...Excellent...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
some of your sounds have a vocal quality that complements the vocalist beautifully. you paint a rich sonic landscape, full of subtleties, and you hold us in a chilled spell. wonderful work sir.
nice , thoughtfull , gentle & a pleasure for my insomnia ..
Alex this considered & skillfull usage of those loops + Carole's hearty voice ( it means one of the most technichal singers of looperman's lyrix & voice ) has made an adorable package ..by the way what a nice backvocal ..ja...dreamy ..

Nice work combining all the elements, now I will download this and I so want to add some compression and stereo separation for you as this is an awesome tune
Steve
Many thanks Steve for your nice comments and glad you enjoyed the song. I do not like to use too much compression which might be really strange for some people but I think that sounds much realistic this way. Thanks again, Alex
Really glad you enjoyed what I did. Yes, this version is slightly different from the soundcloud one with some compression added to the drums and little changes here.
Many thanks for your sounds,
Alex
Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.
Description : This improv recorded a few years ago powered my interest even further than I expected.....recorded using tc electronics pedal and tascam studio recorder and a Fender Squier tele electric....
Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.
Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.
Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."
Description : This is a track off of one of my EP's I dropped last year. It is based on True events. Sometimes when people finally take a second in life to slow down and breathe in..... The oxygen is deflated and it's too late. Take your time people, because time is what differs a good decision over a bad one. Life is precious!

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice
Description : This track describes a magical state that I experienced a long time ago. Maybe you also know the feeling that you can't describe something like this with words ... luckily we have the music for it!
Description : So this is my first Chill Outish track. I was just trying something new and then suddenly this was a thing. Everything you hear is home made. I hope you enjoy. - Mr. Spook'd
Description : That's something i worked out lately
a swing 3/4 hip hop Chill ?? Don't know how to describe this kind of music.
Anyway VOICE NEEDED

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...
