Description : I could mess around with this track all year and it still wouldn't sound amazing to me. My bass sucks and my kicks are lacking big time... but i can't seem to get it right. I think the best thing i can do is leave this one for now, keep making tracks, keep learning and eventually i'll get some better mixing skills.. Tell me what you think guys! Feedback Feedback Feedback!
Tanks Katie for the sweet acapella =)

It's always funny to see how many different style the same 'pella may suggest to producers. I've used the same one in a totally different fashion. Very interesting!
Yes i have heard many different flavours of this pella. I thinks its awesome to hear other peoples interpretations of the same tune. Very interesting indeed!
I heard nothing wrong with your song my friend. for me, everything is on point. all you have to do now, is believe in yourself because everything starts happening as soon as you start believing in yourself. i love the song, big time. Salute!
Thank you Dolbrey =). Appreciate the kind words and faith in me!
We must all aim for perfection in our music though. Is that not true? We may not ever get there, but in doing so will hopefully get you very close to it! On the other hand, i'm aware there's also a fine line between a great sound and an overworked/over mixed sound and at the end of the day, each person will always interpret a piece of music differently.
Thank you for commenting I will check out your music and comment shortly.
I like where yer goin w it. You have a good sense of off-beat rhythms. Maybe being all the way down in NZ helps isolate u from Diznee radio (which has sterilized amerikan muzak perhaps beyond repair) and gives you some opportunity for some original thought.
I think you'd need to do the piece using actual drums live to really hit all that interesting offbeat just right. But cool dude. BTW, I am also a fan of Katie! :-)
Haha no don't be fooled.. we get the same horrible music on most radio stations here, I just choose not to tune in. Oh too bad i can't play the drums hah. I agree though. Maybe i can randomize the drum hits slightly to give that human feel.. almost human lol. There are some Looper users that use really good drum samples in their tracks and it's really not that easy to tell that they're not played live. I need much better drum samples to work with, then maybe i'll dupe listeners in the future =). Thanks for the comment.
I'm surprised that you're not happy with this, as it's very on point! I only think it could use a little mastering, but the mix sounds pretty good to me! I really like how you used the vocals! Groovy song!
Thank you Spivkurl. I always try hard to get a great sounding mix and if in the end others think it's good then i'm content.
I've not listened to it for a couple weeks now and coming back to it, there's not too much i would change now =). I haven't done any mastering before... but i could sure give it a go! Just to complete the song and know that i've done all i can for this track at present.
dear Paora ,I had heard several usage of this pella of colleague Katiefrom various people , and think neither of them were such attuned true & like this considered harmonized & match with that acapella . very welldone it was & my Fav Mark tells the rest for U ... greatest respects & best wishes my friend.______Behnam
Thank you Behnam. After reading your comment i went and listened to some other tracks using the very pella i used and there are some amazing tracks out there! So it means a lot to me that you would say that. I did note that, FOR ME, a lot of them did not portray the meaning behind the lyric very accurately. Although musically, many created amazing tracks. I have heard the vocal a million times over creating this track so i'm quite critical when hearing it elsewhere =).
You've heard the term, "the artist is his own worst critic."? It's true. Even if the flaws are blatantly obvious, never give the viewer or listener a check list of what YOU think is wrong. Otherwise, that's all they will focus on. If you just present your work as is and let them take it for what it is, 9 times out of 10, no one will think otherwise. You know the kicks and bass need work, but Joey Baggadonuts on the street doesn't. He's going to think you meant for it to be that way and still like it.
Now, as for the track. It's great. The arrangement, chord progression, and vocals are awesome. The beat is great, and you seamlessly built around the vocals. But, like you've said, the bass and the kick do need some minor adjustments. But not much at all. The feel of the song along with the emotion of the vocals make it a little dirtier and gritty. Maybe some minor EQ adjustments to accent the high ends for more pop and a bit of a razors edge. (At least that's what I would do). Other than that...I really like it. If I heard it on the radio, I'd not only look into who it was, but tell my friends to check it out as well.
Yes i've heard this before haha and it is definitely true! Very wise words given here... i will not give the listener a checklist in future! I never thought about it, but you're right. When i listen to other tracks and they give a checklist i definitely listen out for those things. And i guess it's the same as when great musicians make mistakes playing live and carry on and work with it, most ears never notice and think it was intentional. Whereas, if they stop playing completely, people will know it was a mistake.
I think half the credit for this track goes to Katie for the amazing vocal. Thank you for the comments and tips. I worry about the low end so much i forget about the tops! I shall go away and brighten up the tops and fix the kicks.

This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : 'The main point of this song is really about the frustrations of living in the overload of today's World of Tech. The consequences are impaired communication and that if you advance too far you end up diminishing what you had to start with, so you are way worse off.' Enjoy a 60s Rhythm with a modern deep Bass, a Sitar, a Piano from EvilPianist, a lost flute from UniverseHuston and some Oscillators :-)

Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.
