Description : Simple 909 hat loop made with just a sample from my RD-9 and Gate-12 trance gate plugin. Put it over a rumble kick and you're away. Also used UFX Reverb 2.

Description : I tried out a couple of new plugins on this kick: Body Builder transient shaper and Hamburger saturation. I also clipped the crap out of the 909 kick as I recorded it into the PC through my analogue mixer. The overall result is pure techno.

Description : Messing about with Koala Sampler. FM kick with found sound extras. All FX are from within Koala Sampler itself. The built in FX are quite good if you get the full upgrade - which is still very inexpensive.

Description : RD-9 Toms: running through a filtergate and Roland Tape Echo (distorted ping pong mode). Also using Klevgrand Degrader in 90s sampler mode for character.

Description : This is a kick I made with my RD-9 drum machine for the track I have just started working on. I'm particularly happy with how tight and punchy this one is. No in-the-box FX - just a bit of EQ and compression through the mixer into the PC.

Description : Today I took one synth not really designed for percussion (Thor) and used it to create snare sounds. Then I looped the 'snares' with some FX to make these experimental percussion loops. FX used include FilterStep, Magic Dice, EFX Refract and Softube Amp. All made within Reason.

Description : I used my RD-9 and my Edge and combined them for techno craziness. No computer FX on these loops - just two hardware techno boxes working together to make chaos. You can use a rhythmic trance gate on these to tame them a bit and they go easily in the mix.

Description : Using the same metal tin can found sounds from Koala that I recorded earlier, I made this hi hat loop. Sequenced in Drum Racks. I used Drum Snapper to sharpen the transients and Magic Dice for reverb.
