Description : A 909 Kick made with my RD-9 and processed in Simpler (Ableton) using the pitch envelope to make it hit harder. It was already redlining through the mixer into the PC so this is pushing the kick into distorting. Sounds hard though!

Description : I started with a raw unprocessed 909 kick drum.My processing method is,
EQ: Boost around 50-60Hz, Cut at 200-300Hz, Boost 2-4kHz, Lowpass 8-10kHz.
Compression: Ratio 3:1-4:1, Attack 20-30ms, Release 50-120ms, Gain Reduction 2-4db, Make up Gain 2-3db.
Saturation: Analog Clip, Drive 2-3db.
Transient Shaper by 36db: Attack 0.10ms, Sustain 0.99ms.
After processing I bounced down and normalized the sample loop to bring the levels up to 0.00db
The key is in G# 52-52.1Hz.

Description : I tried out a couple of new plugins on this kick: Body Builder transient shaper and Hamburger saturation. I also clipped the crap out of the 909 kick as I recorded it into the PC through my analogue mixer. The overall result is pure techno.

Description : I learned this rumble technique from Captain Pikant on YouTube. Basically all you do is send the tom toms through a filter and reverb and you have a deep rumble - it really shakes the speakers. I simply sent the outputs of the RD-9 drum machine through two different chains; this kick is compressed and the tom is through huge reverb and filtered very low. RD-9 only - no post processing required.

Description : This hard kick was recorded from my RD-9 into an overdriven channel on my mixer. Sub bass rhythm is from the Edge. Bonus vinyl noise from the SP-606. All captured in one take no vst effects at all. Industrial!

Description : This kick itself was made with a 909 kick. I used 2 EQ, camelphat3, devastor,compressor, pitchwheel and layered a snare to them to give more 'tok' (attack) to these kicks.

Description : This loop was fun to make. Lo-fi recording then chopped up into bits in the SP-606 sampler and layered with a 909 kick for extra punch. Could work well as a bridge in a hip-hop track.
