This is a really fun, addictive track. You show a talent for keeping your compositions sounding clear and fresh. It doesn't let you get bored, just bounces along it's merry way. Love it.

Well... you've made something quite striking in the face of adversity. The first section feels like a lost track by The Cure and the second half swiftly kicks the previous half in the teeth and rocks out joyously. I had a blast listening to it.

This one took so long I almost got sick of hearing it. I started skipping to the middle section after a while so I wouldn't wear it out. Glad you liked it and that it was an enjoyable listen. Surely more to come.

As soon as you started singing I was sold on this track. It made me think of Smashing Pumpkins, especially the Melon Collie era. Great sound, great message and just damn catchy. I hope we'll be hearing more of your work soon :)

on Mile-Deep Island by Evisma
I was listening to the first 90 seconds of the song thinking "This track has some wonderful atmosphere, I could drift along to this all day...". Then the Toolesque bass flew in and dropped those killer drums and I was up and headbanging, air guitar in-hand. This was a journey worth taking. Thanks for sharing. This is going straight to The Chamber of Favorites.

on Marnie Grant - Heat of the Moment by MarnieG
I'm liking the tribal mixed with industrial sounds. It's not something you hear very often! I kinda felt that the track was building up to something. Maybe some pounding tribal drums and heavier guitar and strings? It's the sort of thing you could really go crazy with and make it epic. Just a thought. Otherwise, awesome.

This is an awesome arrangement you have here. It's a style made for modern trailers and epic movie scenes. Can't help but think of Hanz Zimmer when those horn blasts kick in :p
Can't wait to hear the rest.

It seems you did well with the challenge. Considering you had restrictions of time and method, this actually holds up really well. Could be a springboard for later experimentation as well. Cool stuff.

Thanks! Just wanted to follow promenade his advice and try to strip the track down to its essence. Helped me a lot...I might change this track although I am already busy on something else...:p

This is a very sweet little tribute to someone special. The percussion, strings and flutes sit well together and really convey your sense of joy. I enjoyed this very much.

hey toastedavalanche,

Thank you for your comment! Very glad you enjoyed it. We enjoy composing music for each other, it helps with the emotion as we can feel it whilst imagining the music.

All the best,

Hi guys. The cbgs and bass sound great. Joe's vocals really change the feel of the song. They sound like they're happening in a different space, creating a trippy dissonance between the two. It's weird, it's different, I like it!

Hi TA
Thanks for your friendly comment. Good to hear that you like the track.
Burts guitar playing on his own handmade cbg's is always cool stuff. So i hadn't do to much with the steems to let them sound good. Also thanks for your words about the vocals, i could really enjoy them.

stay tuned

on You Are Never Forgotten by crucethus
I love that intro. It's so soft and sweet I could spread it on my toast. The pads are excellent and the beats are varied enough to keep the listener engaged. The variety of sounds and textures are captivating throughout as well. Top score on all points.

on Modnex - Sunshine wip by Modnex
Cool track. It has a very 'heavy' sound, the samples and fx really give it a gritty edge. As you have said, the mix needs a little work, but it's already sounding quite good. So I look forward to hearing the final piece.

Surreal, amorphous and delicately crafted, A unique song indeed. I like how each section is like a little sonic event, they have their own styles and textures, but you link them skillfully into a cohesive whole. I enjoyed this immensely.

hello
I am glad you liked it! This one is a collage and a result of working with some materials we discussed online quickly. It is good to know that I managed to make a coherent and listenable track. The surreal vocal was the idea by Toax - it is just a single phrase from his song stretched and processed. I created instrumental and developed some of his midi sequences - we intend to make more collabs in near future so maybe we will come up with something that would be much closer to proper instrumental music or proper songs.
Thanks a lot for listening and your nice comments!

on I Fall Down v2 by Spivkurl
Hi Spiv. This has a really cool avant garde approach that leaves you guessing at where the track will go next. Really keeps you on your toes. You have a very unique vocal style, it makes the track all the more surreal; which I like. Keep up the creative work, I'm intrigued to hear what you come up with next.

Hey friend, thanks for the supportive words, which were also interesting to read. To be honest I'm intrigued what will be next as well, as there seems to be some sort of precipice approaching. You can fall upwards if reality is upside down. The use of the word "surreal" makes me feel that I have done the right thing placing this in the "psychedelic" genre. Appreciate it! Have a good day!

on Where the tracks have no name 1 by MaxBonsi
I really love this track, it's so dark and edgy. It has a feeling of sadness and paranoia which you hold consistently throughout. Really reminds me of Portishead. Which is a very good thing. Would love to write a vocal hook if you're interested?

I like the chilled, stripped-back nature of this track. It's seems simple, but there are a lot of subtle changes that keep the song feeling fresh throughout. Good job.

on Touch Of The Irish Aka One For Ed by Orlando51
This is a gorgeous track. You have that magical touch that allows the ambient sounds to softly shift in a way that feels natural. I often find that composing and producing a track feels like sculpting, but your approach has a different feel, more like nursing a sound, letting it grow. This is an excellent example of that.

Orlando51 replied 16th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
I really like your idea of sculpting and nursing the sound
and I think you have a good point here, cause I feel almost exactly the same about my own approach to making music !

Many thanks for this lovely feedback and the 'fav'...means

on Apocalypse 2016 - power version by joecramer
Love this. It's kinda like 80's power metal, with an industrial edge. The guitars sound pretty good considering they are synthesized, The added live guitar sections really give it some energy, Pkatz has done a wonderful job. The vox are great, could be a little louder in places, but they work well with the track nonetheless. Your work is coming along in leaps and bounds. Rock on m
