Sweet and soulful tune. slide guitar offers some nice character to the tune. I liked it., and I'm not much of a country fan, unless it's really really good.
Awesome, the description fits the bill as we say. Electrosauraus Rex, ehh? or Electrosapiensnreptillis? Well, whatever you choose it was fine analog synth descriptions.
Marco, Somewhere between Joe Jackson ¨Steppin out¨ and Berlin´s the ¨Metro¨ this song sweetly belongs, but I love the analog sweeps. It even has hints of Vince Clarkes Depeche Mode days. And yet it definably is your sound mate. Great job as always bringing the synth sound of the eighties to a sophisticated ennui of 2020.
Your Friend (if I were Italian I would take four fingers to my lips and move them away while making a Moahh Sound.) That's how good this is.
Steven
I love the opening chorused organ-like sound that is subtly deep in the back of the mix providing the glue for the soul of the awesome vocals. The arrangement is very tasteful and its pop from an earlier time. about 3:15 I almost feel a Jim Steinman like lyrical and musical feel on this one. Hell meatloaf could sing this one ehh?. Great Job!
Steven
That is soooo smooth mate! Awesome tune and then that sweet hint of the vocoder and the slight laugh. Brilliant track the piano makes me feel like I'm in a lounge looking out a window at a quaint snowy evening while I´m nursing my Belle Gueule Rubis lost in my thoughts. Well done!
So I´m listening to this... And here in Canada. French-speaking Gatineau, I have many workers who come from various countries in West Africa and central Africa. They like to sing when they are happy at work and that gives me some satisfaction as a musician that I am doing them right. And they also play some music on their phones out loud. Most of the music they play has elements of what has become gospel in the US as many of them are very Christian, but there's that specific harmony that comes from Ghana and the Ivory coast with awesome rhythms. What I hear here is a hybrid of that sound and a huge American influence in your style. But it is a style that's very compelling to listen to. There is a soul to this one in its minimalism and it shines very brightly. I will play this to my co-workers and let them share in this beauty.
Thank you (Merci beaucoup)
Steven
Thank you Steven.
I would LOVE to hear what they think about it.
I think it's REALLY cool for you guys to share the beautiful world of muzic together!!!!! :-)
Now, Micky, that's what I call classic house. well done! I love the synth treatments and the space in the mix and the placement of the vocals. 1:55 is a nice build. I´m moving to the groove in my seat. Percussion is spot on as well. Super-gut my friend.
Steven
First Listen in. there are so many good things about this mix. It's like an eighties sound, but also futuristic, so you nailed that. Beautiful production. Massively appreciate what you made here. Nothing much i can say except wow, and awesome. thanks mate.
Cru
Very good, mate. I wonder if you slow it down just a small bit you will develop a better groove and feel. Sort of like Alannah Myles Black velvet tempo. I really like it though well thought out, good lyrics.
Steven
Terry, Terry, Terry!!!!! Awesome stoner rock. Very Haight Ashbury sound with a Seattle dark edge. A great fusion of the past to make this sound. I really like this one, as that solo is perfect. I also hear some Blue Öyster Cult in this as well. So many influences. But your attention to percussion and that moving bass was also notable. Cymbal crashes were a bit in your left ear. And the ending was in a weird key, but why not. I loved the rest eh?
HEY THX FOR YOUR GREAT REPLY.....ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR INPUT....I JUST REDID IT FOR PATRICIA...OFCOURSE THEIRS ALWAYS GONNA BE DIFFICULTIES TRYIN TO REDO ONE OF MY MESSY TRACKS....CHEERS
Has this very old school underground house vibe just like The Paris Mitchel Project´s Ghetto Shoutout, but with a more sophisticated bass sound. But still the same vibe, and that's what counts. Does it House! Hell yeah!!
Because @Arloph09, you would have seen that the last commenter before you said the exact same thing. And Mr. Valve acknowledged that and provided a reason for why it's like that and what he can do about it. So it´s plus points for you for realizing what needs to be fixed like someone else, but minus points for you for not sharing in the community expression that was already there because you did not bother to engage by reading others' comments. Capiche, my friend.
There is a sort of melancholy tint to this using such harsh synths and percussion. That is an incredible sign that you can evoke emotion from the harshest of sounds that puts you into a new class of artist my friend. Also nice 7th chord at 1:49, we don´t hear as much of the Straight 7th chords in music these days. Great work my friend.
Great track. I have been listening to Kora Flamenca from Zal Sissokho. it's an intense fusion of west African sounds and the Kora with Spanish Flamenco. I highly recommend it. What you did here, is pure gold my friend. really quality songwriting.
Cru
A very dark tune indeed. Like a Gothic Wellness check with hints of darkwave and a Tool like Percussion feel. When I listen to music It can trigger me to think of colors (a very mild form of synesthesia). In this case shades of grey and some deep blues. The melody line at the end triggered a tiny bright red feel, and the piano chops at the end were very ominous. This is truly a Valve driver tune. Good work.
I just put this on and started to listen... But how the hell did I end up At Fat Cat Blues bar in St Johns nursing a draft???? How am I gonna get home, oh well line me up a shot of that Rye! The Music is too damn good to leave!
the Atonality along with that syncopated drum is fantastic. Are you familiar with the pianist Mike Garson? He used to work with Bowie. This Piano work reminds me of Mike's work on the album ¨Outside¨.
I hear the Level 42 influence on the chord changes on this one mate. Really nice arrangement. I love the detailed percussion which is something that lacks in many others tunes. The mixing is sublime as well as the instrument placement. You just need Mark King singing over this one ;-) Tres Bien! Your brother is killing it on lead. His feel is so in the pocket. I also love how the organ is mixed in the right place in the back of the mix. 10 out of 10.
Steven
thats the highest compliment for me ...level 42 ...thx...maybe in thier older days..i hope they get back together...you would be the first in line.....great review ...cheers
Hints of The Cure and also Propaganda. Really good. I agree the bass is a little bit too up in the mix but otherwise brilliant in every way. had my head moving. great job. fav´d

I think that's the first time I've heard that my music has hints of Tool in it. I take that as a compliment.
