This sounds more like mid 90's industrial than it does electro. A rather nice surprise after expecting something completely different. I checked out a few more of your other tracks as well. Good work, man.
The vocals were good. But with them only being used in the one spot, they almost seem they don't belong. It would be neat to hear them chopped and used throughout the entire track. That's my only thing with it. Other than that, I really dig it, man. Especially how all of the synths have a metallic resonance that make you want to give your brain a tetanus shot. Good work, man.
Tracks like this make me wish I knew how to play the keys. I would take from 1:54 to 2:03, extend the hell out of it and go all Jon Lord on the Hammond. I could hear the Pink Floyd/Beatles influence, but I heard more Z.Z. Top and Deep Purple in it. Either way, I liked it, man!
Thanks V, Happy Holidays to you as well. Xmas was good his to hoping the New Year is as well. I can hear the ZZ Top for sure. My sating it is Beatles influenced is do to the lyrics I wrote but never recorded, due to the ##### voice thing. Lol. :) I also like your idea about expanding the vibe and riff at 1:54 to 2:03. My keyboard skills are very limited, so an expanded keyboard thing is not in the cards unless I get better or someone who can actually play piano/keyboard collabs on it. I want to thank you for taking the time to give it a listen and for leaving a comment. Feedback is always greatly appreciated.
That's some pretty impressive Massive work. It's not the typical "Modern Talking", "Flanders 1", and "Roughmath 2" that everyone uses. I'm diggin' it, man.
Hip Hop isn't exactly my thing, but this is alright, man. I do agree with dgalantic, though. It does need a little melody. Hopefully, Anthony pulls through with the vox. I'm looking forward to hearing it when it's finished.
I made it so it had room left for vocals so that's why it doesn't have the melody yet but I hope indeed that Anthony pulls it off haha but I think he will
Typically, I'm not a Veela fan. But this is good. Not only did I make it through the whole song, but I enjoyed it, too! If ever a turd could be polished, you just did it, my friend.
I've primarily listened to Heavy Metal for nearly my entire 40 years on this planet. But, this track almost acts as a siren attempting to lure me into a strange, beautiful new world that is quite possibly the polar opposite of the one, in which I currently live. I'm not resisting. This piece is, for a lack of better terms, lovely. I've added it to my collection. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Hi, that is a huge compliment thank-you. Its very rewarding when someone ventures out of their usual genres and has a good experience. Thanks for taking the time to listen and your great comments.
This has a great flow to it, man. I'm especially impressed by how well the prismatic arps rest upon the droning pads. The wobbles being used as accents instead of the domineering aspect was a good choice as well. Kudos, mister.
This is a great track. I love the groove. The only thing I would suggest is to add some keys and a little wakka-guitar. Maybe fill it out just a little bit. But, again, even as it is, it's a great track.
Hey thanks for the listen. You hit the nail on the head! Adding a few more elements would of brought the track more to life. I'll have to sprinkle some more spice on it next time i revisit it.
The piano in this track is elegant, to say the least. You've created a perfectly symbiotic balance that flows so organically.
Where I grew up there was a symphony of crickets and cicadas. Listening to this reminded me of why I would fall asleep to it every night.
Excellent work.
I like this. I particularly like the guitar. It could have been just that guitar, by itself, and still have been just as powerful. That's my opinion anyhow. Thank you for giving us this.
I haven't tried making any wobbles or dubstep yet with Sylenth. I'm going to have to give it a go, though.
As far as this tune goes, I really like the main rhythm. It stays with you after the song is done.
Good work, man.
Thank you ValVedriVer for the comment ;) I found this track to be sort of stuck in my head when I was working at it, seems I am not the only one having that feeling.
You have yet to disappoint, Mr. Spivkurl. You definitely have a sound that's all yours, and you own it. Upfront it seems like such a simple, almost fumbly style. But, once you start to listen to what's really happening, it's very intricate and involved. I've always said that if you're going to do a cover, make it your own. Otherwise, you're just imitating. You definitely made it your own, and it's a better song for it. Awesome work, man.
Thanks so much V for your viewpoint! I think fumbly is a good adjective for my style! It was a very fun project to cover this song, so I'm glad you think it turned out okay! I really appreciate you listening and leaving a comment!
Thanks man....I know that feeling well. Most of my tracks have some type of accompanying vocals...in my head. Getting them on to a track is a whole different story. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and leave a comment.
Not a bad go for a first shot. It could use some work, but you're on the right track. It sounds like you're using Massive for this. If that's the case, don't be afraid to add some filters, envelopes and LFO's for movement. It's a good bassline, bring that sucker all the way to life! If it's not Massive, well....the same applies. Kudos none the less. Keep it up!
It's pretty good. I suggest running it through a limiter, though. You've got some clipping in the kicks and the low ends that could easily be taken care of. Other than that, not too bad, man.
Personally, I like it just the way it is. I think it's interesting that if you leave the vocals how they are, you have 80's pre-wave. But, if you ran them through a bitcrusher and reverb, you'd have early 90's industrial. I think, for it's simplicity, (which is a good thing), it's actually a pretty versatile tune. Brilliant work, good Sir.
Thanks for your support! I ran the vocals through a waveshaper, but definitely didn't go to the point of being a bitcrusher. I really appreciate you listening!
Considering my impressionable years were in the 80's, I have a particular soft spot for anything, (musically, speaking), that has a quality 80's sound to it. This track is one of those. I appreciate how unapologetic it is in it's retro-synthpop. Good work, man.
